How does you game fit the theme?
This was my very first game jam and I'm quite proud with how much I learned making Pimenton. The theme was inspired by the film Paprika (which had a lot of dream scenes and surreal scenes of the world falling apart that created a lot of uncertainty of what was real) and so I tried to capture that feeling a bit through a game where the levels end up being fake and falling apart. Hope you enjoy!

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I watched a lot of unity tutorials and followed a lot of them for how to write code, but everything was made from scratch. I also used FEEL by More Mountains, which I own from the Unity store. The art and audio are all made from scratch.

Very cool. I loved how you used the invisible red boxes to help me "see" the invisible boxes. :)

Thank you! I'm glad you noticed those! My friend brute forced his way through there I was staring at the boxes like 👀

lol. that is how I feel all the time when my fam playtests.

This was a fun game. Keep making games if this is how you're going to start out. (:

Developer

Thanks so much! That's super generous.

This was super cute! I wish it had controller support but great none the less, the fall animation was super legit and that grunt they make cracks me up. Great job for your first jam!

This is what "It is not real" is. Great work!

Great stuff, I love the voice sfx, and the concept of the art.. cool pixel art, and I love the super mario jump style, where you can control your jump distance

I love when a i can post a ending pic on the comment.

So, the game is great, the sounds are very funny!

I really want you to play may entry for this jam, but i want to show you my first try on a jam, about a year ago… i think you will find a funny coincidence https://struo.itch.io/clound-loop

Damn, I blink even in screenshots! Happy you enjoyed it! I just got to try your submission out. I was really impressed by how clean the controls were.

And yo! Your previous submission wall jumps were smooth too. You're an input powerhouse.

Feels like my slow descent into madness and I'm here for it.

Submitted(+1)

This was fun I love the jump sound and the gameplay felt smooth

Best quality: His smile :)

(Genuinely though, a really cool game! I liked the level transitions, the A+ audio and the playfully antagonistic relationship with the narrator. Nicely done!)

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! This means a lot coming from you! Your team put together such a strong narrative game.

I loved the all the audio , and Sound FX, the game was a lot of fun, and you used the theme really that was really an amazing job.

Submitted(+1)

That was really fun! Loved the cute main character! Also, the guessing what was real and what was fake was very effective. Good stuff!

Submitted(+1)

That's really good ! especially for a first game !

It looks good, it's funny, the fx are really neat.

The only thing missing realy is a nice soundtrack. Great job :)

I had fun! It was a simple but fun platforming game with an interesting concept and special effects, especially more impressive if you did this all by yourself, great job!

I really liked the audio in this one, I don't know why. Also the level design and progression was pretty good.

But, there was no music, (but that's not too big of a deal), and also I couldn't tell what platforms were "fake" and which ones were "real". That second one is not necessarily a bad thing, I actually liked it, but not giving visual feedback on stuff is not a very good thing in the game design world.

Anyway, other than that, I enjoyed it. Good job

It must have been so much fun making all of those audio samples! I liked how the level design slowly ramped up in difficulty and included more mechanics as time went on. Glad I played!

Developer

I had a lot of fun haha! Yea I want to do that to, but I'm gunna save that for a bigger project. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game, mechanics were fluid and felt natural. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

This was so fun! I think the theme is applied nicely, and the little sounds you make with moving are memorable haha. Good work!

Fun little game ^^ ! It's polished and I LOVE the sounds =p ! However, finding what is real and what is not was essentially "trial and error", which was a bit frustrating sometimes (unless I missed something ?).

Great entry nonetheless, good job ^^ !
