Had to give this two tries as I was confused as to how to play it. I could see that there was a huge amount of effort & systems in place so props on that front. It felt like it had a relatively completed state to it, even if I couldn't figure out how to actually get very far into it! Great work though. Has massive potential.
Thanks John. Yeah it’s a little over ambitious for a game jam game and needs a lot of brain cells to get into. Also not very well explained so something I’m looking at working on. There’s a lot of depth to the game (cell structure, DNA, evolution) but so much to try to pack in and not enough time to explain it. Glad you took the time and thanks for the feedback!
I didnt 'get' it even though I like this kind of game normally... I expected the usual 'bigger things beat smaller things' kinda absorption gameplay but that doesn't seem to be the case. Also groups ? whats a group, ive seen em, but how do you form one ? I would probably enjoy a more complete version of this.
The idea is great, and the execution is good as well. I like the game overall. Saw the other comment, and I also noticed that the UI style didn't fit. I would also have used a custom slightly larger cursor. It was exremely small on my screen.

Intro was a bit dense, took a bit of a read to get through, I ended up missing a few things at the end, maybe space out the info screens a bit more between a bit of play so that I can test out the mechanics talked about before loading me with more?
Overall it was quite interesting! That GUI Pro Kit is kinda amazing I wish I had used something like that before! Also going to have to check out that water system, great job!
I personally struggled with the game however it seems to have lots to do. I would personally work on better instructions and break them down for the slightly dummer player (myself) that aside i think damage sounds would help to distingish doing damage to bumping a friendly. apart from that it was interesting concept and I look forward to trying again.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes sounds sort of fell by the wayside due to time but I had planned for more variety. They’ll be a post-jam version that will be incorporating many of the things (and more) mentioned here. The goal is to make it deep with a lot of value, but easy to play. Bit of a challenge but I’m sure it’ll get there.
We're going down to microscopic levels in this one. The introduction was kinda cool, although some art style clashes too much. We have kind of realistic art and videos here and we have really cartoony UI and graphics there. There's even an Amogus explaining the game to us.
I think the gameplay of invading other microorganisms for toughest pathogen spot was pretty clever.
Thanks for the feedback! Game jam times so I hear you on the art styles. That’s always tricky to get with no budget and limited time but will consider this for an update. Glad you liked the game (although I think it’s a little too cerebral for a game jam and should have stuck with a pew pew shooter).
