I am speechless, the graphics in this game is very awesome, and the animation! that's very fluid. The gameplay also quite good for different objectives to be done in separate loop. Great work!

Really impressive presentation! Love the club and the vibe.  The concept of a loop is awesome as well.

For the drone minigame, the mouse controls felt pretty sensitive and combined with the inverted axis it seemed pretty difficult to complete in one minute- I wasn't able to complete it myself.  I would also suggest adding subtitles for the robotic voice, it was kind of hard to tell what it was saying sometimes due to the effects.

Overall I loved it though!! Excellent work on the cutscenes!

Developer(+1)

thx a lot for playing Em! ;D
glad you liked it! ;D

about the drone minigame: you totally right ;)
every body say that about the inverted controlls ;)
so never gonna do that again haha, learned my lesson ;p
about it being to sensetive, I diddn't hear that on ebefore, so good you let me know it :)
the reason its so sensitve is for 2 reasons:
-it was hard to give the player a strong sense of being in controll of the drone
-and the sharp turns of 90 degree did make a problem. (maybe I should have made a sepered area for the drone (now it uses the basement for real))
so thats the reason why, but good to know that diddn't feel right ;)

and also about the robot voice:
also a lot of people having this prroblem.
really wanted to subtitle it, but did not manage to do that in the deadline :| (maybe will push a update in the future with subtitles)

thx again for playin and your feedback Em! ;D

Impressive showing! It had a really good vibe overall,  it reminded me of Gex 64 era of 3D platformers and all the little mini-games they'd throw in for variety.  You should be super proud. Good use of existing assets, though maybe a little bit too much reuse to be said to have been made exclusively for the jam.

The carnival shooter and jumping puzzle were very easy to pick up. That drone game and its inverted pitch control drove me mad and was the only one I couldn't complete. Locking out controls during animations of blocks turning in the pipe-mania mini-game was a little irritating and the analog stick to select which blocks to turn was wildly sensitive. In the end the long turn around time in-between runs caused me to turn it off before completion, that and the inverted drone controls (I was playing on controller which may have been making it harder).

Developer

hi squeezebotjam, thx a lot for playing! ;D
well thats intresting that you say that.
most of my games to me feels like I let me inspire through games from late 90's till early 00's.
really like how the big studios than where a lot more experimenting, they really had a way more intresting pacing if you ask me, and they dare to be way more weird!
so that it makes you think of the gen 64 era, I see that as a big compliment :)

about those assets: thats a fair queston! ;)
reused a lot of assets, but for the most part all assets has been created during the jam.
I think 20% was premade and 80% is made for this jam!
where does a game start not beeing made exclusive being made for a game jam?
I think thats a queston that everybody awnsers differently, but for me it still feels like I made this game exclusive for this jam! ;)

yeah those inverted controlls where a mistake, almost everybody diddn't like it!
so I've learned my lesson, never gonna make that kind controls inverted ever again. ;p
also did hear about the puzzle not controlling very comfortly with a controller.
still don't get what has gone wrong there :|
but glad people tell me about it, and wil check it extra in the future if I'm doing something like that again! ;)

thx again for playing and the great feedbak squeezebotjam ;D

SIIICK I loved playing this game!!! Really happy to see a great submission like this. There is a lot of stuff involved in here and everything is well balanced I think. I liked very much the cinematics, the environment is well accorded with the musics. As someone said here, it's like we're in hollywood but you made it for a game jam hahah

2Gb was fine for me (as I submitted my first Unreal Engine game 12 GB !!!!)
When the 4 goals were explained I thought the robot voice was singing hahah, it took time for me to get that the mission was explained at this moment. Anyway by failing a few times you understand what to do
Also I couldn't see the "Game Junk" intro screen when I launched the game (I restarted it multiple times to see it but didn't work)

Congrats to the team for this game :)

thx a lot for playing Ony!!!! ;D
glad you liked it!! :)

cool you pointed out you thought the robot voice was singing :)
your the first one to say this.
and its funny because the songs root note (on the dancefloor) is a B.
and we used a vocoder to make that robot voice sound.
but a vocoder always needs a carrier, we used a synth how constant playing a B note.
so the voice was matching with the music :)
so you could say its kind of singing haha :)
nice that you pointed this out ;D

but weird it doesn't wanna show the GameJunk leader.. :|
but good to know! :)
do you maybe know, does your computer have problems playing H264 video files? (because thanI know why)

but thx again for playing Ony! :)
and for the really kind comment! :D

Hahah now that makes sense for the robot voice :)
Well for the video it's the first time I can't see something, I have a recent gaming PC (with NVIDIA GeForce 1660 Ti on laptop).
I can't wait to see your next game! I watched your profile, it seems you've made good progress
Keep up!

Developer

nice, thx for letting me know! :) (really helpfull :))
haha yeah learned so much by making this game! ;D
and I think I'm not gonna participate in jams that are shorter than a week anymore.
because most of the jams I participated on where 48 hours and and now I joinend a jam that was 2 weeks, I feel that I much more got the chance to make what I wanted tot make! :)
thx again for playing and your really nice comments ony! (was really helpfull ;D)

Yeah I totally understand, for me it was the first time I had 7 days (as I came very late to this jam). Before this it was only 3 days jams.
I'm glad I could help you, it's a pleasure :)
Let's keep in contact! What is your discord?

Developer

you had only 7 days?!
wow now I have even more respect for what you have made ;) ( I know it wasn't finished yet, but still you did a lot of work in that time ;)
haha nice, welll thx again man! :D

good idea! ;D
my discord is: GRooVy GRoVer#0221

Damn, love the work you put on the cutscenes!

Impressive you put so much together with the time we had!

Interesting concept of games within the game.

The only think for me was that it was too dark so we can't really see the environment well.

Congrats!

Developer

thx for the big complements hangarter! :D

you totally right about the darkness.
on some computers its way darker than it supposed to be.
next time I will add slider so people can set it so it looks good on there machine!

but thx a lot for playing hangarter! ;D
glad you liked it! :)

Submitted(+1)

Like a hollywood movie

Rooms too dark for my monitor but I managed to do 3 objectives. It will be great to add subtitles, I usually reading them instead of listening to narrator

Also need a 4 hour version of the DJ song on youtube

Developer (1 edit)

2 really legitimate points! ;)
I showed it to a friend today on his computer and it was way to dark indeed.
next time will make a slider to increase the brightness! ;)
and about the subtitles we really wanted to add them but unfortunately we diddn't had time to inplement them :| (maybe I will in a update in the future :))
especially because of the vocoder it is sometime hard to understand whats being said.

a nice to hear you like the dancefloor song! ;D (made it myself (, but not during the jam though))
if you like to listen to it, I have a playlist on youtube with soundtrack of this game: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-RFP0bPv6IF0gU1xdtSfl3rRVjcDixcv

thx a lot for playing qcplus! :D

pretty nice graphics, nice idea :)

Developer

thx a lot for playing imaginegerman!!!! ;D

Super cool! Awesome cinematics! I havenot solved all 4 missions yet !

Look forward to see the ending! I hope I can solve them lol.

The downside is the filesize. I know how easily the project size get gigantic w/ Unreal, but it still deserves 5/5.

Developer

thx a lot for playing calastrovsk! :D
when/if you finsh the game, please let me know how hard find to complete alle the objectives! :)
I find balancing always pretty hard to do right so, your feedback will be very  valueble to me! :D
but thx again, glad someone played it! :D

and about that size, yeah indeed, I see a lot of unreal devs strucle with it.
at first the file size was compressed 3,02GB, so replaced all 4k texture for 2k ones.
and set it to project settings to only package stuff thats really nesesary to run the game.
and at last I unchecked all plugins I wasn't using.
but it still stays very heavy. :|

But 60 second trip - mushrooms looks really cool man! :)
too bad I dont have time today to play it but I will somewhere in the upcoming days! ;D

thx again! :)
