Well, honestly this whole AI ethical concerns is a huge loss.

It's a technology, like many of the ones that come to aid us and not get on the way, disrupt the market and all that.

During a game jam, we are always incentivized to try new tech, new algorithms, because... It's a jam, and it's indie work, and that's how we can compete with the AAA studios, doing something different.

It's like uber disrupting the taxi sector, artists will adapt and USE the AI technology to their benefit, the ones who fear it will be left behind.

So, it's very, very bad to forbid people to try new tech during a Jam.

Politely, I'd like to state that the worst part of it is not your position about the ethical part of AI, that I genuinely respect. but the fact that at the beginning of the jam, some rules were set, then DURING THE JAM those rules changed.

Either the jam should have been cancelled and another should have been created with new rules, or the rules should have been kept the same.

Changing the rules of the game during the game is... unfair.

Could you please reconsider? As there are no artists in this jam, AI is helping with concept art ideas! It's going to make it more difficult, and all images are unique work, even AI generated

Here is something I came up quickly (DALL-E):

Hi all!

It seems this jam is a little small, so I've decided to go ahead and introduce myself :)

Here on itch.io I go by hangarter and I'm a unity developer. Recently I've joined some jams online and participated on global game jams 2021 and 2022. You can see all my projects here: Hangarter - itch.io

Perhaps we could form a team here? I was thinking particularly in going a little bolder in concept as we have three months and design something using HDRP in Unity and assisted by AI for concept art. Not sure why but the image I've got is ants in close-up surrounded by mushrooms, not sure about mechanic yet!

So here I am, nice meeting you and please feel free to contact me if you want to form a team :-)

Hey hey

Nice idea!

Maybe a bit more interaction during the dialogs, some feel too long

Well done!

Damn, love the work you put on the cutscenes!

Impressive you put so much together with the time we had!

Interesting concept of games within the game.

The only think for me was that it was too dark so we can't really see the environment well.

Congrats!

I've just left a comment! Nice mini game!

Hey nice little game!

I like how you put the graphics together, it's simplistic but it looks pretty.

For a first game is good, keep on the work for the next one!

Notes:

- Font choice felt nice

- The graphics are low poly simplistic and it looks like with the lighting you used

- One thing I'd think about is the goal of the game, or sense of progress. Either one of both would be nice to have.

I'll check it out! Thank you!

Thank you very much for the nice comment!

I'll review your game soon!

I'm really happy you liked it! :D

Yeah I noticed the intention was to replay the game to solve it, a bit similar to what I did on mine!

I've just left a comment on your game, nice one!

Hey nice concept here!

It reminds me of the storm in fortnite!

I'd love to see a charging punch that you can really punch someone really far haha

The arrow keys control felt a bit laggy for some reason, but otherwise great job

Thank you! I've just left one commend in your game as well.

It looks really great! The only tweak would be to pack a little more the action (reduce distances to run).

That kind of reduces the immersion a little, otherwise really great!

Very well done!

With all menus and gameplay, graphics, really neat.

It's impressive how smooth it is.

Maybe the only tweak is that the rooms are really big, so due to the short time you have to really run to explore.

Otherwise, congratulations for the great work!

a detective story would be cool as well :)

I didn't implement any limitation of repeating dialogues, do you think it's an issue?

I'm glad you liked the concept! It took some work to have it happen.

For the graphics the artist who was in our team unfortunately got really busy then I ended up doing cut outs of internet images for the game.

I wish I could have done that better!

Thank you! I'll review yours today!

Hi All,

I've just finished my game (yay!) and I can't wait to try all of your games.

Shall we change reviews so we can get some feedback in our games?

Cheers!
