I love the gameboy aesthetic! Jumping feels very straight and less like a natural parabola. I think using a jumpforce - gravity system would help this game a lot! Level design wise - you've got some fun mechanics and you teach them well.

Some of those clouds that don't actually help you gave me trust issues lol.

Great game, I like it!

Game

Nice game with the old school classic retro graphics 👍!

The level design was well done. Move out of view to go in the level is a nice idea. The different kind of platforms was fun also for variation.

As some already stated. The jumping mechanic does not feel super.  Nonetheless I did manage to go up a few level blocks.

Sound was ok, some more variation and maybe some background ambiance music would be a nice addition to the game. Or change the pitch of the jump sound on every jump so that your ears get e tiny bit of variation.

Art was nice retro and consistent.

Good job and fun to play and try to go higher!

Devlog

Nice that you added a devlog! Maybe you could have told us some more how you managed to create the game, but that you made one is a positive point.

Game

Cool game, liked the retro graphics. I think some background music or some other sound so that the jumping sound doesn't get annoying over time could be great. Overall great game!

Devlog

I think you did a great job on the devlog, was nicely organized and had lots of information about your teams experience making the game.

Nice game, love so much the platform games and that retro idea is amazing, you shoul consider to create the animation for the walk or jump and check the physic, the jump feels weird or forced.

Great level design, at the end reach the top x3

Very good level design, great job there. Feels very retro and looks the part of a GB game. The only things that it's missing that would make it feel more like a polished game that would be fast to implement are some simple animations and a tune. Other than that, nicely executed idea. Well done.

Funny platformer game. I liked the different mechanics and the fake cloud really got me good xD. Tip: Some off the sounds where a bit too loud in comparison to others which was a bit annoying.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. The sound was rather late in development, so I imagine if we focused on that a little sooner we wouldn't have had audio problems you could hear in the game

The game is cute and looks good, the game has some glitches, but not too much to make it annoying. The jump is really low and feels a bit to stiff, but otherwise the movement is fine. I liked the mechanic that you can exit the game on one side and enter on another. I recommend adding a platform at the bottom of some, or every levels, because it isnt fun to fall trough the floor and do a level all ovre again. The devlog was nice to read but lacked some images or in-depth explanation.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. The concept creator suggested making the fall mechanic return to previous levels, but I can see why that'd be overly annoying for specific parts.  I would've added more to the devlog section, however I was strained for time as I was trying a lot of new features I never managed to do before, so I didn't find the time to properly document the features in an interesting style.

Cute game, lil glitchy but feel like it has good potential. Reminded me of I wanna be the boshy and some kaizo mario stuff. :)
