The art is very impressive and the concept of keeping your emotional state together fits the theme in a very unique way. The sound design was also nice and subtle. Like others, found hopping between the islands inconsistent. Overall, a very nice unique game that fits the theme well. Good job.

Thanks again!

very nice idea and art, but the enemies blend with the heads and the world, and I only understood the game after losing the first round, also you could have added a score system, nice game though.

also it a bit frustrating trying to jump from a face to another.

Developer

Thanks! Would have benefitted from a few more rounds of playtesting and iteration, and I agree a score would help make progress more tangible and gameplay more compelling.

art is mad in a good way. could move between two heads but couldnt really do anything else

Developer

Thanks, sorry you had control issues, the false perspective is hard to navigate.

First i must say the art is amazing :o The abstract art fits the games theme very well. The character looks adorable :D. I love when people make games like this.

The only thing i didnt like is the contrast between enemies and the background. The eyes blend to well some times and i cant see them :/ Other than that maybe a better tutorial can also make the game easier to understand.

Overall i enjoyed this one great job :D

Developer

Thank you, it was fun to make! Can you count the surreal artist references :D ? The character was based on a sensory homunculus, fun little twist to make it feel 'in your head'. I agree on the enemies, definitely important to set those apart.

Thanks for playing and your kind words!

Yeah, the instructions could be clearer and the music could have been mixed a bit better. I still really love the concept and I think the abstract nature of it is great.

Developer

Thank you! Not sure what the issue was with audio, the popping wasn't there before export. Guess next time we'll just have to finish earlier to test the export more. :)

I like the abstract atmosphere of the environment. The mechanics are simple and easy to learn. The setting is also fitting to not just the theme, but the mental state of pretty much everyone participating in the jam. The weird background voice is also an interesting addition.

I have a bit of a problem trying to see the enemies since they can sometimes blend into the environment. Some sound effects/particles when they spawn might also be a good addition. I think that the movement between the head can be made smoother. I feel like if the player is touching the edge of the head, it should be in range to move to the neighboring head.

Great job on the jam!

Thank you! I agree the color palette is a bit too restricted, maybe playing with wider range or a flashing shader or effect like you say would help them feel more threatening. Definitely agree on the movement: we learned why 3d perspective games use 3d perspective assets and not sprites for everything, collisions were a pain to get right.

Thanks for all your feedback!

Instructions Could be clearer. I didn´t find a way ingame to get back to the instructions

Developer

That's a good point, thanks for playing!

Love the idea, but could'nt use any item after i jumped the first time (on the web version)

Developer

Interesting, were you standing over one of the yellow icons when you tried to use the item? Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted

Ok, now i feel stupid, didn't realize i could move with wasd. So indeed, after the first jump i wasn't standing on the yellow icon anymore :P

Thank you!

Weirdly interesting game.

As Ocean commented, the take on the theme was a really good one, while the atmosphere is well made and , personally, I liked the aesthetic visuals.

It's a bit lacking gameplay wise tho. There's not a whole lot of "decisions" to be done, you just move from emotion to emotion clearing the eyes and restoring your states. But don't take it too harshly, It doesn't seem to be one of the focus of the game.

Good job!

Thanks! When we had to pick the genre to upload it was... hard . XD

Agree the gameplay is pretty simple in the end. Originally we wanted the background conversation to tie in with which areas you defend, but that proved too complicated in the time. And no worries, appreciate the feedback!

A unique take on the theme, the visuals, and the sounds are great! I had a difficult time with the controls occasionally though.

Developer

Thanks! Did you find the challenge was primarily with movement or the use buttons?

Submitted

I thought the buttons were fine. I think the movement between platforms was the hardest part for me because I felt I needed to be positioned very precisely to get the jumps to work unless I was missing something about how the game works haha.

The graphics style and the sounds and everything are just phenomenal. I like the look, but the gameplay is a bit lacking. But for what it is, it's pretty nice.

Developer

Thank you! The collisions especially are a real problem, moving between the platforms isn't smooth enough. Appreciate the feedback!
