In what way does your game fit the theme?
The robot is a toy that needs to REWIND when its out of winding or it cant move.
Note :
the jump is a bit weird dont know why but i am working on fixing it and will update the game once the ban is lifted

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes all of the assets and code is made by me(Except for the sound effect at the winning screen its from opengameart.org )

I really like the graphics of the game and the movement and its animation is pretty good. Unfortunately I'm not really able to play the game becaus eof the jumping being so strange (I had the same problem at the start but I don't really know how I fixed it sorry)

Sadly I did not manage to passe the first two jump, for me I could jump only a few times in a minute, that's unfortunate I would like to try I a bit more :/

Developer

i am trying to improve the jump mechanics

The jump feels really weird.

The graphics are simple but they fit the toy style pretty well! Good game overall!

I really liked the combination of music and art - they complement each other nicely. The jumping was a bit glitchy and took me a while to find the best way to jump when and where I wanted to. Overall, very chilly and nice game. :)

Pretty nice style I love its simplicity! The gameplay makes fun and I enjoyed it so Great done!

I like your idea but controls little bit hard or   I am bad player. graphic design and theme so good if you could improve controls especially jump control your game will be very good.but totally I liked your game

Developer

Naahhh its the weird jump that makes it hard trust your gaming skills bro also i am working on improving the jump

My game also has control problems I hope we can fix it for both of us

The theme was cool and very in keeping with the Jam's! Loved the look and music but as others have said, the jump was a bit fiddly. Well done!

I liked the idea of the game. I had the same problem with the jump that others have mentioned, but I started to get used to it after a bit. Nice cute and colourful graphics and sound :) Well done :)

Weird jump mechanic but I guess it was done this way on purpose. I like the oldschool art style. Good job!

I really like the cheery aesthetic, and this is definitely pretty difficult to play. It's kind of interesting with the jump behavior. It seems to teleport, but it also checks for collisions too. Interesting game.

I'll be honest here I like the game but at the same time there is this one bug that is annoying and just simply frustrating. Previous comments have already stated this and that is the jump where it doesn't always work and its a literally instantaneous jump that is just annoying to control.

I've always liked the vibe of sidescrollers and toy theme is nice and being able to wind up at the cost of health is a good premise.

The toy theme was pretty neat

Pretty cute art & music! Some other feedbacks:

  • Firstly the "jump" behaviour is weird, making the robot immediately teleport makes it weird to control the robot. I can see that such teleporting behaviour work if you make the whole game revolve around that, but in this game with the platform layouts, I think I would expect proper jumping
  • The controls weren't nice for me. Sometimes it feels like my jump key wasn't working, don't really know why.
  • Nice that you incorporate the rewind theme by rewinding the robot. However, I think that it does not make the game mechanic much more interesting. After using up the bar, all i need to do is wait at somewhere safe, then hit down key, go forward, & repeat

Overall still a good job on a fun game!

Do play & rate mine too if you can :)

The game is pretty fun but a lot of things seems pretty buggy. The jumping is hard to manage. Other than that I had some fun playing it :)

It is an interesting take on the theme, though I personally don't like that it doesn't have an impact on the gameplay - that is, you can swap rewinding for many other things and it would fit in, the gameplay would be the same.

The music is nice but at certain points it can be a bit annoying.

Graphics are nice.

I think you should add actual walls instead of invisible walls.

And the main thing is the jump. It is really hard to control and just doesn't work. Maybe you could make a jam version and fix it? Right now there are points where it makes the game almost unplayable.

Its a nice platformer, i liked the robot design and the levels were nice.

Some easy improvements that could be made would be:

Split the robot and  the wind key, so as to animate the wind key when you wind up the robot without moving the wheels (maybe you can split "Wind key", "Robot Body" and "Robot wheels" to make the robot move up and down when you are winding it up)

Instead of Using raycast to check for ground, use Physics2D.OverlapCircle(). that way, you can give a bit of coyote time to the player (Be careful,  you have to set the walls to a diferent layer than the ground, or the player will be able to jump from them and be spiderman)

Allow the player to jump while moving

on the 3rd level (the one with falling blocks), open a hole in the wall, because i didnt know i had to go trough there

And (this one might be more difficult), Use rigidbody.AddForces()/.velocity instead of checking if there is and obstacle up and changing the robot transform to make your robot jump and not teleport.

Overall, nice Game

Developer

thanks for this awesome feedback

Though in level 3 it's sort of a secret route which you can take

I haven't hidden it well because I didn't want people climbing the whole way

Also the jump does use velocity I don't even touch the transform in the player script the jump teleports ther reason?? I don't know I have been trying to figure it out since I implemented the jump

Thanks for the feedback again

Submitted

If You are using velocity, then try lowering the jump value, maybe its going to fast and that makes it appear to teleport. If the Player falls to fast because of this, or you dont like how high it jumps, you can change the gravity value inside the rigidbody of the player. If you dont want to change anything, you can simply use AddForces (Rembember that Add Forces depends of both the Mass of the RB and the Gravity, so you will have to tune them again)

And please, Check out my game,  I Have too few reviews :'c
