solid game play pretty addictive. Worried you would have cheesy things hitting you but nice job with the warnings. Sound was nice. just some simple animation especially on the player and it would make a difference. Looks like it would be a nice mobile game too.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

And you're right, it could definitely do with some more animations. I figured with a mobile game publisher sponsoring this jam, I may as well try to make the game suitable for phones, hence why you only need one button to play and why it has a vertical resolution. I've never made a game aimed at phones before so I thought it would be fun to do and work well with my idea.

Really cool game! I enjoyed the simplicity of it and it didn't seem to lag at all which is a big plus! The randomised runs each other felt fresh and complete, and I had a blast climbing up as far as I could get! The music and sound effects were great touches also, amazing work overall! :D

I really like that the game is built around the wall jump, which is a feature in many games, but usually not the main feature. Due to the great variety of enemies you need to constantly be alert, which ensures it does not get boring too quickly. The extra health and helmet items make up for a nice finishing touch on the gameplay. Well done!

The gameplay is simple but fun in this game and the music sounds cool (: it is also very relevant to the theme. I also like the different types of enemies.

Nice job!

Even with simple graphics this game is fun to play! Controlls are simple and predictable. Also I really enjoyed variety of enemys. Gread job!

Great sound effects and controls. Already said in another comment but the camera could really be a bit faster. Besides that it's really fun :) Good job!

I was impressed by the variety of obstacles in the game, made it quite interesting.

The camera was a bit slow to follow you up in my opinion, it removed a strategy of more rapid, risky jumping.

I had quite a bit of fun with this, great job!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it!

I actually planned to include an even larger variety of obstacles but some of them didn't work out before it was time to submit. I mentioned a geyser obstacle to someone else which I didn't think the animation was good enough for it to be included and I also planned for there to be some kind of jellyfish enemy that floated down the middle firing some kind of projectile on its left and right periodically.

The camera could definitely use some work. I didn't want the player to just be able to jump up off the top of the screen but I also didn't want to make the camera too fast in case it ended up too jarring and snappy. I probably should have coded the camera to speed up the closer the player got to to the top of the screen and it's definitely something I'll consider for next time.

Thanks again! :)

Pretty good  but I have a few ideas for improvement. The camera is positioned a little weirdly, it should probably be positioned above the player so that you can see what's ahead of you better. There should also be a better indication of when you get hit, like an screen shake or a flash or something

Thank you for the feedback, I agree! :)

Personally I think a lot can be done to improve the gameplay, making it more interesting, fair and including a difficulty curve but I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to think the gameplay is perfect for what it is. Graphics/animations/UI is definitely what I could improve the most. My artwork has never been all that great haha. Thanks again! :)

Who doesn’t love a simple wall jumping mechanic, it will never get old. Some good additions in this game, like the ability to get health back and I love the hard hat you can pick up. The graphics are simple, but simple graphics aren’t the worst thing in the world. Maybe some simple animations and lighting/shading would make some huge improvements. Overall great job! It was fun to play

Thank you! :)

I appreciate the feedback. Art has always been one of my worst aspects when it comes to game development so I always try to keep my game's graphics simplistic. I do agree that I could have added some more animations and lighting/shading. I did try to add an obstacle that had a simple animation but I didn't think it turned out that great in the end so I removed it. It would have been some kind of geyser or gas vent that periodically burst, blocking the entire shaft for a short while.  I felt that the animation needed to be very clear and obvious so as not to feel unfair and in the end I didn't think the animation achieved that.

Anyway, thanks again for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I like it, and honestly the art isn’t bad by any means. You did a lot better than most people would be able to. I followed you on Itch and look forward to seeing many more games.
