was going to mention about the audio cues in such a thematically audio heavy game, but I see you are having this discussion in the comments already :)

As people mentioned, love the art! The animations really bring this to life, especially with the intro and when losing! I was wondering if you had any thoughts of other genre's you were thinking of matching with a rhythm game?

Another game full of personality!

Another vote for audio cues! Before I settled on the Rhythm/Upgrader mash up, I thought about doing a Rhythm/Tycoon mash up where you owned a guitar shop and would battle customers or something. I couldn’t figure out how they would tie together and I had no idea how to make a tycoon, so I had to scrap it sadly. Thanks for playing though! I’m glad you liked it :D

I don't know how the tycoon would look like, but this was very cool to experience so well done

Wow, I barely made it past the boss. Just like in a certain guitar with buttons, I tended to lose my finger placement.

Very well done, I think you hit all the marks. Very fun game, loved it. Nothing to add that others haven't already said. I did love all the characters I battled against.

I’m glad the boss gave you a challenge! Some people had an easier time with it than others, so I guess it depends on how you spent your upgrades. I’m also happy you liked the characters, as that’s been something I’ve been trying to improve this year.

If theres one thing rhythm games have in common, it’s forgetting which buttons your fingers are on lol. Thanks for playing!

The art is so cute, I love it! I think it would be cool to have some sound feedback whenever you miss a shot and when you hit.

Thank you so much! Audio cues are definitely something I need to experiment with, as some other people have mentioned the same thing.  Appreciate the feedback!

Kept me hooked! By the third song I was wondering if selecting the highest difficulty was a mistake, but grinding all the upgrades got me to victory! (weirdly the boss went down in 1 round when some others took 3+ tries).  At one point I had to close and reopen firefox because it was getting kind of choppy/laggy, probably just had too many tabs open, but it's strange that it started out smooth, maybe some of the later songs take a bunch of memory?

Loved the characters, good challenge, and lots of fun, great work!

The way I handled the note objects probably wasn’t the best, so since the later songs had more notes maybe it just became harder to run? I’m already thinking of ways to improve, so thank you for letting me know. It’s a shame you were able to get through the boss in one go. Maybe I should have increased the price of the last couple upgrades? Regardless, thanks for playing! I’ll be sure to keep your feedback in mind for the future.

Excellent job on this Guitar hero inspired game very nicely made, it made me a little sad as i think my skills built up over years of Rock band have left me.

Keyboard controls are very different from controller so don’t feel bad if you didn’t do as well! Maybe I should add a controller mode…🤔 Thanks for playing!

Definitely good to see something else and different.

How much fun was the Boss Fight to play?
Some sounds ques would have been awesome, when getting a perfect, missing etc. so you hear what is going on and dont have to read the text and lose focus.

Rate the Technical Complexity & Execution.
I suppose rythme games themself is fairly complex to make and it seems to respond well to the inputs given

Did the game include 2 distinct game genres and how well did they mash together?
Guess it have a rogue like element too it i suppose, with the upgrades you can get.  Besides the guitar hero - and every time is a boss fight.

Was the game well polished?
Seemed to work fairly well, upgrade points seems to be rather insignificant in terms of how much got for the prices.

Thanks for the feedback! As far as sound cues go, that was something I planned to add at one point, but especially with the amount of notes in later levels, I felt it would get very distracting from the music so I ended up not adding it. I suppose something I could do in the future would be changing the color of the hit particles depending on how accurately you hit it? That way you're still looking at the same area and can get visual feedback. Thanks for the idea, and thank you for playing!

Yeah would have looked cool, like how they glow up in guitar hero or light saber type of games.

Anyway good job.
