Developer

I'm not quite sure what you meant with this. Could you elaborate?

Thanks for playing.

I did mistake ;/

1 document -> hand remove review of prev. jammer -> use same document for next one

4,5,6 were from prev. entry.

I removed 6 cause it does not apply for your game.

4 & 5 might help

Great job. I like how you can only see the bunny when you shine the light on it. I think the rotation when holding the rmb was a little slow but that doesnt take anything away, congrats!

So when i first played it it bugged i catched the rabbit and i didnt go next level so i thought i didnt caught it and stayed looking for it thought it was the whole game and then checked the comments realize theres a next level so i try again, i get  to second level lose retry and finally win. Nice game

Developer

Thank you for playing my game!

It’s a bit rough around the edges, but the idea is there. I beat the second level as well, and the bunny sound cue helped me spot it. Nice touch adding a brief tutorial as well. It has potential to expand on this idea. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

This was a fun little bunny chase lol. I like the point-and-click movement plus lunge combo; it makes you feel like you're plotting a route while listening for those audio cues. The whole follow the rabbit into weirder and weirder places fits the theme really well, and I had a good time just darting around trying to cut it off before it slipped away. Fun jam entry!

Thanks for playing! :)

I think it fits the theme pretty well with the bunny hiding in strange places.  The path-finding for the player control was pretty good.  I would have liked to have a more zoomed-out view or a directional indicator or something to help me see where the bunny was.  The first time I wandered around the map and didn't see anything, and apparently the bunny escaped.  As a player I wasn't really sure what my strategy was supposed to be to increase the chances I cross paths with the bunny before it escapes.

Well done making this game!

Developer

Thanks for the great feedback. Good idea with the zoomed out view. Didn't really have time to make a better bunny AI, and I agree with what you are saying. Thanks for playing!

It was a little short but overall a good game. Well done! :)

Couldnt even pass level2!lol. I liked the overall control of character and I think your menu/settings are more than complete. unlike your other comments I think your tutorial was good enough (we kinda did the same on our game). so, goodjob!

Thank you! :D

A bit rough, but it works ! I was blocking at the beginning, like touching the bunny didn't work, i touch it 5 times to suceed (maybe something with colliders ?)

Feel free to test our game !

Developer

Yeah, unfortunately didn't have time to fix that. Thanks for playing though.

The move option is a good idea but not sufficiently exploited with the concept. Maybe try pixel art or some kind of tricks to make you game more beautiful and give it an identity !

Developer

Could you elaborate on not sufficiently exploited with the concept, I'd love to hear your Ideas. Also kinda ran out of time on making art, so i had to do it quickly.

I think your move idea is super cool but doesn't really fit your game. Maybe something like a stealth game where you need to "create your path" at the good time to dodge enemies sight. Andso youplan your way to finish a level. I just feel like I don't know why in this game particulary the movement idea is like that. Maybe Im wrong, it's just my point of view.

Developer

I see. My original thought behind it was that you would have to strategize your path, and I could use the fact that I know the path in advance to control the bunny's AI, although now thinking about it, the movement would have to be turn based or have a cooldown, since you can just spam it removing the strategical aspect, making it impossible for the bunny to predict, and it feeling just like movement but hard to control. It would have been smarter to not implement this, since it would have saved time. You are right though.

No problems ! We are on a tight schedule, game jams are really hard ! It's still a good work !

It was a bit confusing at first but i got the hang of it! The rabbits were a bit hard to find, the maze is slightly directionless but the element of surprise makes the game enjoyable!
I kinda find it a bit hard to navigate around a little bit :o but lovely game!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play. The way the game was implemented does make the map feel directionless. It's supposed to be like a room where you have to go around finding the bunny, but didn't have time to do a good bunny AI, so it feels directionless. The movement also does need reworking, I agree.

its a bit rough but I did enjoy it. I like the idea. other than slight issues with game mechanics my biggest critic is that it felt really short. I like the over all concept and the execution is so close.  I especially like the audio cues from the bunny.

2 main recommendations 1 bug

  • I think the turn speed is a bit slow. I found myself fighting more with the turn speed than anything else and if feels needlessly slow.
  • the movement felt a bit clunky but I like the idea of having it on what I think is a grid. (not sure what the behind the scenes is for that.) maybe controlling movement with the arrow key or equivalent would be better  or if you want to stick with mouse have the player be able to hold down right click while to update the destination while they are moving.
  • bug but I could only catch the bunny if I walked in to it. if I lunge at it, it doesn’t activate the win state.

over all its got potential and is halfway there might keep an eye on this in case you update it after the game jam.

not important but i think some visual interest to the environment would help too. (e.g.  furniture,  clutter, carpets, etc.) and an accessibility feature that could help hard of hearing players is a visual cues for the bunny audio maybe something that lights up on the edge of the screen that indicates the direction of the bunny relative to the player every time the audio que would play or some kind of visual that doesn’t give directional cues but indicates how close you are to the bunny in some hot or cold equivalent way.

average score 3/5

Thank you so much for taking the time to play and give feedback! I can agree with everything you say.

  • the idea with mouse click as movement is to make it harder to find the bunny, the way it was implemented is poor, I know and faster turning would have made it fine, but being able to move with arrow keys would make the turning ability almost useless.
  • I am aware of the bug, but couldn't fix it in time.
  • It was planned to have different furniture as hiding spots, but time ran out so had to use one sprite for all hiding spots
  • I find the idea of the visual cue interesting, I did think that there could be a radar-like ability where for a brief moment you can see the loaction of the bunny, perhaps this would be an equivalent of what you described?

Got the bunny! Very fitting music selection. The Move indicator is a nice touch, i liked that you can build like a little route through the room so you dont have to rotate too much.

Thank you!
