The art style immediately caught my eye, the clay-like aesthetic looks really unique. Combat feels satisfying, and the slightly smaller UI could make gameplay even more readable. Overall a really polished and enjoyable jam entry, nice work!
Did I just kill all my emotions and was left only with anxiety?? 😃
Anyways I rlly loved the style. Absolutly in love with clay like games since I played hylics and this just hit the spot. Here are some stuff I wrote while playing if interested!
Overall just really nice game, also try building for webGl is easir for peolpe to play and sometimes results in more peolpe playing!
Thanks for playing and leaving a lot of detailed feedback!
1.Really glad you liked the graphics, that's the one thing we always try to do well.
2. The boss arena is kind of misleading I agree, some playtesters didn't know that either.
3. We originally wanted it to be a more fleshed out metroidvania, but that ended up turning into a progressive attack chain and using the terrain to block your path due to time contraints.
4. That was a bit intentional but perhaps not explained too well. You can wait a bit after usign the first or second attack to reset the chain, which allows you to use the smaller fast attacks instead of the big AOE one for crowds. I don't think not noticing this is your fault, a game should explain it's mechanics to players properly.
5. Love was a difficult character to add and I'm not totally happy with the final implementation, telegraphing is definitely something that has to be done more for all the enemies but for love specifically, it creates a large and unsatisfying difficulty.
6. Agreed, secondary mechanics also fell onto the chopping block due to time contraints
7. We also noticed that, a proposed fix was to pause time while the dialogue was going but we just ran out of time (seems to be an ongoing theme haha).
WebGL is a good idea, but the games we build use the HDRP and a lot of custom GFX/Compute shaders, which I don't think would be very performant in a browser (maybe it's different now, will do some tests). It probably would make it easier for people to see and play, but would compromise on the artistic vision a bit, which is important to us. Thank you again for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed!
Wow! I loved the claymation look of the game. It also got me wondering how you did the interactive 3D models / voxels destruction
Thanks for playing! The deformable terrain uses a custom marching cubes implementation (Sebastian Lague has a really good YouTube video that explains the algorithm). Originally it was going to play a bigger role but we had to cut back some features for time. Glad you enjoyed it!
The art is incredible! I really loved the overall style especially the main menu, great job :)
Thanks a lot for playing! Glad you liked it!
One of the best looking games i've seen this jam, the main menu is very original, and the game is fun! Excellent job!
Thank you very much for playing! Graphics are something we always try to get right, so I'm happy it left a good impression on you!
Very stylistic UI, and the overall visual quality is very good, pretty close to production level. The combat mechanics are solid and well balanced. The health recovery feature after defeating mobs is an important addition that improves the flow and keeps the pacing engaging. Although I was able to beat the game, adding some checkpoints would be a nice improvement. Nice job!
Thank you for the feedback! Checkpoints definitely would have been a better implementation than just restarting the scene, but we had some other things to fix before the deadline kind of forgot about it haha. That's just how it goes sometimes. Glad you enjoyed it regardless!
This game is a hidden gem! The art style is stunning and really sets it apart. If you guys would push the gameplay to be a bit more innovative, I could see this becoming a big hit. Great work! there's a lot of potential here.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Probably should have spent less time on deformable walls and more time on attacks and abilities haha, the direction kind of switched mid way through, but hindsight's 20/20. Really glad you enjoyed!
I enjoyed this game a lot, the visual is really nice and reminds me of Hylics! The mechanic and the level design is also very nicely done:D Good job!
Thank you so much!!
I absolutely love the clay art style, it immediately caught my eye in the submission list. I love the details like the 3D UI, game-aware music, and the all the particle effects. Everything feels super smooth from the chain combat to the camera movement, overall just really well done!
Thanks a lot for playing!!!
Played through it in its entirety. This is so well made, the combat feels nice I like the attack chain. Music is also on point. Love the motif of the guitar during combat, very characteristic. If I had to nitpick, some guidance or map would've been nice and also decreasing the size of the healthbar slightly. But these did not stop me from enjoying this game!
Thanks a lot for playing! Glad you enjoyed the combat and music!
I think I struck gold! This is a game that feels focused and high quality in general. The visuals and its effects are bold, the sound design is on point, the dynamic music is great and I especially love the plot concept of destroying your happy emotions to only remain with Anxiety. I think this perfectly reflects mental stability of many people today, who are stuck in doing just that.
From this game in general, I got the "made by one artist" kind of a vibe - Basically from the way that everything just fits together - and got curious if that actually was the case - even though I was proven wrong, this just tells me that this is a team of people who knew what they were doing and that there was synergy present between them
In conclusion, this is a masterpiece in its own right.
I’m glad you liked the concept! We did a lot of brainstorming to keep everything cohesive. Thanks for playing!
Nice game that I loved and enjoyed very much. I don't know how you came up with this idea, it's brilliant. The game deserves higher ratings than this. You should be more active in the community
Thanks a lot for playing! As soon as we finished it we all pretty much crashed haha, so we're trying to get a bit more involved now
Great game! I absolutely love the artstyle and the gameplay is very satisfying! Great job!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed :)
WOW! My partner recommended that I play this and all I can say is that I'm very happy I did. I had an incredible amount of fun and BARELY beat the boss with 1 health left. The style is truly unique and lends itself well to the world you've built. The way the music transitions as you go into combat is super effective, and I really liked it. I'm sad to see this game only has a few reviews because it's one of the best I've played. Would love to see this expanded upon. Very well done! 5/5 stars all around.
Thank you for your kind words, I'm so glad you liked it!
I am really intrigued by the style of this game! The clay world/art style, characters, and music created a really strange atmosphere that was fun to explore. The combat mechanics were easy to figure out and they were very satisfying. I hope more people review/play this, I had a great time and am very impressed by the interpretation of the theme and world building. It was a bit tricky to figure out my next move after defeating a group of enemies, but I think sometimes we are spoiled by games being too easy. This forced me to explore and backtrack a bit. Congrats on the game!
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
That's an impressive submission. Visuals are superb, very unique and satisfying. Gameplay lacks a little bit, would be nice to have some alternative attack and dash, since atm you just mostly smashing attack button non-stop, mostly targeting that fast red asses. Also, I didn't like much that backtracking mechanic where you must go somewhere back to find block which you can destroy now, it's not very obvious. But otherwise it was pleasant experience. Anxiety won, yay.
Thanks for playing and for your feedback!!
super nice graphics, very satisfying attacks, but i did get soft blocked before i could complete it. what i got to play was super fun, though!
Thanks for playing! Some backtracking is needed to reach the ending.
WORD??? i'll give it another go this evening and let you know how it goes! thanks!
Cool game
I need to know what the ending is! Keep dying before then though haha
It's funny, it was hard to predict sun strikes.
