Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it! Tip: if you replay and defeat the boss again, it ties the whole story together, explains the theme better, and unlocks another section where you can show some of your creativity, try a different potion. But thanks again for trying 3 times hahah, I guess I suck at your boss too. :)
Really cool visuals and great interpretation of the theme, I just think there should be more consequences if you cheat like maybe if you are in field of vision of some other dude or more enemies the higher the chance that you will get caught and your score reduces and you respawn. Still very cool and as a fan of airsoft I really enjoyed this, good job! :)
I'm not sure if there is something I don't get with movement but basically I have to position with W D the speed and A D the direction witch seems cool when I start but after the first checkpoint for some reason my boat always stops and I can't do anything to make it move again. I tried it like 5-6 times and this always happens to me. The story seems cool and sounds are atmospheric and nice, but if there is something I'm missing I'd be glad to return to finish the story.
Thank you for such detailed review! I explained the guy before why it fits the theme, basically I watched the show Dark that works with time loops and explains that the object (in my game dungeon) is invincible-eternal since you never actually exit it. Also one of the potions is exacly that ... invincibility. In brackeys game jam there was a field to fill like "Why your game fits the theme" and I thought this will have it too so I could explain it more clearly haha. For the local saving yeah I guess I could've simply used player prefs... Didn't think od that but surley one of the things to add. Thanks again for playing our game and giving this deep of a review! :)
Thank you I'm really glad you made it through! Your code should be F93DU6 haha. About the invincibility it’s actually tied to the idea that in a way the dungeon is “invincible” because it never truly ends. It keeps looping existing outside of a clear beginning or end so nothing inside it is ever really final the player just passes through it leaving a mark behind and actually becoming the dungeon (without spoiling too much hehe). And also one of the potions gives you a little glimpse of how it feels to be invincible. I watched the show Dark recently so that left a mark on me obviously haha.
Okay wow such a great idea and It's actually implemented nicely. There is a part tho where I feel like the code is not consistent. Basically I open the first computer and change transform.? to transform.x than I come to the second one and just open it without changing anything and it says onjump player.speed = 500, but after that I cannot jump anymore. Anyways a great idea, very fun and it reminds me of this game Quadrilateral Cowboy. Good job and I'd like to see this with more polish, levels and variations! :)
Well I feel like there should be some more "punchy" feeling when transferring to another body, since I died few times because time limit was exceeded and I didn't even notice it so maybe some effect, screen shake, filter etc. There was also a shop guy that I accidentallyactivated, I thought It was boss so maybe like when you get in room some small animation or something mystic that he tells you so you know he is shop keeper. And also the attacks could've been more punchy some screen shake and effects on enemies would make it a lot better because now when I'm the skeleton and those ice things show I just get lost on did I hit him or no. So that's basically what I meant when I said some feedback for the player overall. Don't get me wrong it was awesome and fun, for a game jam It's probably impossible to do it all but this is something I think you could work on when jam is over. So yeah good job and good game :)
My score was 5400 but at the end it said 4800 >:(. For real it's very enjoyable and it would be better if kills had more "punch" to it, like some better sounds and the level design is not great at showcasing the cool movement you made. But with game jam time I see some real potential here because I really like these fast-paced fps kind of games. Overall you did great job!
It's very satisfying with those sounds and animations and how you see their little blood mark. But half of the game, when I upgraded my kaiju fully I was just standing in the middle and waiting for the army to collect xp, so balancing could be improved, but i was very fun when I upgraded crossbow guys because my xp per run got from 1500 to 50000 hahaha. So yeah, very fun and satisfying gj
