Really liked the scroll presentation and animation. Have to agree with other comments that the scrolls open and close offscreen sometimes and the camera didnt follow the player on the map. Great entry for a 1 person game! I really enjoyed the variety of puzzles!
Thank you for playing, I really appreciate the feedback. Would you be willing to tell me what browser you use and if you have graphics acceleration turned on in your browser settings. I'm trying to replicate the bug so after the jam I can fix it. If your not comfortable sharing I completely understand but if your are it would be a huge help. Thank You
This is very impressive. I'm shocked by the amount of different environments and mechanics. The menus were also super unique with the scrolls that open and closed. However, they sometimes will oven offscreen so that you can't actually see what's on them. I hit a bug in the overworld that blocked my progress. After doing the space and cave level at the top, the camera did not follow the player in the overworld, so I could not see where to go next. The tab menu also did not pop up after my player left the screen
Yeah that happened to another person I tried to fix it in the bug window but I couldn't really figure out why as it only happened to one person at the time. I'll definitely fix it after the jam. Anyway thank you for the kind words, I am equally as impressed with myself as this was my first jam(I've made a couple games in the past but not in a jam).
I can't seem to replicate the bug so I'm not really sure what a work around would be but if you are interested in trying the other levels I could post the map if it would help you navigate to the other levels.
This is a very well made jam game for just 1 person and a cool concept! I enjoyed it a lot.
I really like your level design, the core mechanics that change the environment is interesting and potential.
It’s a very unique puzzle game, especially with how the terrain changes each time you collide with a different scroll. That mechanic really stands out and keeps things interesting. Great job on your solo game!
Wow, this was a super polished game! Loved the animated scrolls and the cave level quite a bit. It had one of the most unique puzzle mechanisms I have ever seen! Great work!
You did this by yourself? It's pretty good! As a non puzzle enjoyer i have been playing the most amount of puzzles games of my life in these hours. I wanted to tell you how yours was kind of a breath of fresh air. There's nothing ground breaking but most puzzle games feel reeeeally slow to play while this one had very fast movement and this is something i can appreciate. I also really liked the scrolls popping up as you walked, really cool! The levels themselves i enjoyed too but i am probably not that qualified to give tips for improvements, keep it up!
The scroll opening/closing on the title screen is really cool. That little animation immediately gave this game some charm. I also really liked the overworld. Walking between the portals and getting bits of tutorial/story there instead of a big info dump was smart. Was way funner then just having a list of levels.
Mechanically, it's strong. Each plane feels distinct, and you build on mechanics instead of just swapping them out. The gravity plane was probably my favorite, especially once you realize you can flip it yourself. The cave one though, yeah that one keeps you on your toes lol.
Music fits well and the SFX give good feedback when switching planes. This is a really solid puzzle platformer. You can tell a lot of thought went into how the mechanics interact.
Really enjoyed the puzzles, excellent mechanics, good job!
Very nice puzzle game! I enjoyed having to really think about which order to collect the items. The final level really stumped me for a bit. The game did lag a bit when using the gravity changing item. Great job, and I hope you'll keep making games in the future.
This is very good for your first game jam! The puzzles aren't too easy and I think you utilized all the different mechanics very well! My feedback is very specific, as I didn't find any major problems. I did see a few typos and I think having different sound effects for switching planes depending on what plane you're shifting to would also be good. Also, I felt that moving in the water was a little awkward, though it didn't hinder the gameplay that much. Overall, this was a good game!
I really liked the gameplay here. Impressive to have time to add a map/overworld as well. Good job on getting the difficulty just right in my opinion. I had to actually think on quite a few of the puzzles, but nothing so hard to make me want to quit :)
Super cool gameplay ideas. Each new mechanic introduced by the scrolls built on the last, great game design!
I had troubles with the world map unfortunately and ended up not being able to finish the game because the next level was off-screen :(
Thank you!! Did you happen to know the last level you were able to complete so I can try to figure out what went wrong.
I can't quite remember the level, but I know the issue was going on throughout the game. I'm not sure if the camera is supposed to move with the player or it's supposed to be zoomed out more so you can see other levels, but in the world map, the camera would start at the player's position and it wouldn't move with the player, even when you move off-screen towards the next level.
Oh that's strange. Yeah, it is definitely supposed to follow the player. I'll see if I can figure out why. Thank You for letting me know
Very interesting ideas, love the level to level gameplay. It's nice to have level to level puzzles so that you don't get bogged down by trying to find little secrets.
interesting idea, though the ui and graphics dont seem to scale properly for the we build, half of the game was cut off and it took me a while to figure out what to do because of it.
graphics are cute and the ui was nice to look at when i could se it though.
nice job :)
Thank you, I believe I had just set the window size incorrectly in itch.io so it should be working now
Really interesting
