WOW! Super cool visuals, had me wowing every time I loaded into the menu and the pip screen. The ability to put this all together into something so cohesive and evocative is no small feat! Loved the idea as well, it fits very well into the theme and reminds me of wordle a bit haha.

If there's one thing I personally would like to see, it'd be a bit more variety/urgency/difficulty in the combat, but it's also understandable if the focus of the game isn't the combat. Amazing job, thank you for making it!

So cool! I loved the art and this idea of telling stories through a kids' art and eyes. The combat system was also innovative and unusual for a game jam, albeit a little buggy.

Also, missed opportunity to rename Holmes' melee attack "discombobulate?" ;D

Super good, especially for a week of work! I liked how the environment changes weren't anomalies, giving each actual anomaly a different feel, plus it fit well with the theme. Amazing work!

Cute! I liked the art and the idea of acid rain. I especially liked how you gave it a few levels to figure out how the turtle worked before making it a mechanic to get across the acid puddle - a good example of "set-up and payoff" in game design.

It seemed a little bit buggy and I do wish there were a few more sound effects to give feedback for player actions, but otherwise it was fun! Thanks for the game!

Wow! The fact you were able to create this immersive and detailed world in a week is awesome! The story and intrigue was also top tier, I just wish you had more time to get further into it! ;)

I know it's definitely been mentioned, but the frozen birds outside were a top-tier detail. When I saw them, I thought it was simply an unfinished part of the game, but when the twist was revealed, it all made sense.  Those types of details are what make mysteries so good, keep adding them!

What a joy! The custom pixel art and the variety of enemy sprites is easily the best part!

Next time, maybe you can look into some ways to make the platforming gameplay feel a bit better, like adding coyote jumps, jump buffering, and making the jump feel a little less floaty?

Either way, loved the theme and the art!

Great game, 10/10 would help my deadbeat mom again!

Jokes aside, loved almost everything about it. After the final errand, when mom wasn't home, I actually got upset haha

If I had to nitpick, I think having some more variation in the gameplay would have made it perfect, like maybe climbing on top of objects or even a limited flying mechanic as little birdie learns to fly better.

Thank you for a great experience!

I can't quite remember the level, but I know the issue was going on throughout the game. I'm not sure if the camera is supposed to move with the player or it's supposed to be zoomed out more so you can see other levels, but in the world map, the camera would start at the player's position and it wouldn't move with the player, even when you move off-screen towards the next level.

Super cool gameplay ideas. Each new mechanic introduced by the scrolls built on the last, great game design!

I had troubles with the world map unfortunately and ended up not being able to finish the game because the next level was off-screen :(

So fun! :) Personally, the difficulty was chef's kiss. Took me less than 10 tries per level, which was enough to challenge me but not frustrate me. Loved the art, the theme, and the personality.

If I could suggest something, I think making the player actions a bit more fluid would make the experience better. For example, shooting mid-air, continuing the melee animation even if you jump or land on the ground, adding generous jump buffer/coyote jump. Great job guys!

Wow! The variety and length of gameplay really blew me away. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out the color puzzle, I wonder if adding a hint after a certain amount of time would be a good idea?

I also liked the sound design, nothing felt out of place or disconnected from the visuals. Amazing!

Oml that's going to be stuck in my head for a while lmao. Great game 10/10 would fever dream again

Great idea! It was compelling to see the glimpse of what kind of level was next and to think about what ability to use get through it. Some of the game mechanics and design were a bit rough and unforgiving though, and after restarting a few times, I found it too tedious to do the same things over again just to get back to where I was before. If I were to critique it, I would say that the game has an innovative, fun idea that just needs a bit more time and attention to shine

Hey fellow first-timer! I'll go ahead and check it out :) Here's mine if you're interested https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312122
