A bit easier once I figured out how to actually dash.

Developer (1 edit)

Yes the dashing makes it easier and more fun :) Thanks for playing and commenting :) Much appreciated :)

Did not realize there was a dash. I should have assumed from the title LOL.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! :) I think that's what hurt me in the ratings. Some overlooked the dash part. Thanks for playing and for your feedback :D

very cute! i enjoyed the vibe and the music. very intuitive and wintry.

i think it would be cool if the game was a bit more fast-paced, and put a twist on the pac-man concept by making the whole map into slippery ice.

Developer

Thanks! :) Glad you enjoyed playing. Thanks for the comments. If you press space, the penguin dashes on its belly. The waddle is kinda slow cause .. it's a penguin, lol. But, yeah perhaps a faster walk would improve the game play and enjoyment. Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated :)

Fun little game!

Developer

Thank you! :) glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing :)

Neat! Works well as an innovation within the pac-man genre with just a bit more gameplay depth. No negative feedback, it did what it was trying to do effectively!

Developer

Thank you! for your great commentary :) thanks for playing and taking the time to comment.  Greatly appreciated. :)

The dash mechanic added so much to the game and spiced up the gameplay a lot in a good way. Although I encountered some issues like the music glitching out at the start menu when I pressed space and when I pressed at the same time as the arrow keys, overall it was pretty good.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yes the dashing makes it alot more fun. Thanks for saying. I did notice that glitch after I published it, and after my tester (my mom) came across it, lol. Thanks for playing and for your great feedback. Much appreciated :)

Nice little game! The music is fun, I like it. :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! :)) you said it all in a nutshell. Thanks for playing and for your kind commentary.

Thank god for the dash, it got me through it. Enjoyed this one, though turning left and right felt unresponsive at times. Nice work regardless, especially the music.

Developer

Wow! thanks. Glad you liked the music, adds a good vibe to it. My own tinkering on the piano. Yes, the dash is a life saver. Many a times one dashes right in front of danger.  On the turning, you gotta hold down arrow key before you get to it, hope that's what you meant. Otherwise, yeah probably some bugs there. Thanks for playing :) and for your great commentary.

Soundtrack slaps, game looks hot, dash is a nice addition. It just feels like hitboxes (for both taking turns and being hit by the bear) are a bit off. Still, really creative take on the classic game that I feel isn't explored that often.

Developer(+1)

Thank you :) Music is my own little melodies. Thanks, I really liked the dash myself. Originally wasn't part of the game,  but truly a nice addition. Yeah,  that was a problem, I had to leave the full penguin image as a collision in order to make turns in respect to the pine trees, but then will be a bit off on collision with bears.  Trade off until better solution found.  Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated :)

I really liked the dash-mechanic, it saved me a lot of times xd

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I think that's what makes it more fun :) .. thanks for playing.

A good old Pacman-Type! Super fun but a little slow! I'd amp up the movement speed a little and then it'd be a fun, cozy classic!

Developer

Thanks! for playing and your positive commentary. I think you might have missed the use of the space bar to send the penguin on a tummy slide, lol. Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. :)

Nice one. Oh the sound effect when grabbing a fish.

I find myself wishing the whole game was sped up a little. Or sped up over time maybe.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing and for your positive commentary :) ** If you press on the space bar, the penguin slides on its belly :)) any arrow key will break his dash or when he hits a pine tree.

Nice little pacman clone, but slowing down the character and introducing a dash instead.

Developer

Lol, thanks for playing :) .. if you hit the space bar, the penguin slides on its belly. Its on the game page, should have included instructions in the game, but was running out of time.

Nice little PacMan like arcade game. The controls are a little fiddly but a good quick arcade game!

Developer

Thanks! yes, you gotta hold the arrow key down for the direction you wanna take before you come up to it.

Simple but very enjoyable! Reminds me a lot about pacman. (btw, pressing R to restart doesn't reset music and instead starts looping it multiple times at once)

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! :) Thank you for your nice commentary. I'm glad you enjoyed it. hmm .. how did you find R? .. lol, that's for debugging purposes. I usually leave it in, thinking players won't think of pressing R, lol.

I did notice on the html 5 version, song continues after game restarts, while on the windows version it doesn't. I'm using Game Maker Studio 1.4.

R is commonly used as a reset key, and I was trying to speed up the respawn cutscene after death (not because it was bad or took too long, just because I'm impatient lol)

Developer

Awesome :) lol, thanks. That did cross my mind, to press any key to restart the game quickly. Now, I see I should have included it. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
