Visuals

1 ... looking of a far looks great:

1.1 . if I scale it to full HD on 27inch then it becomes to much of pixelized

1.2 . (design 1) -> effect of dizziness applies if zoomed

2 ... loading details vs game details does not match

3 ... some texts are too small (if page not scaled up)

4 ... game element aesthetics fits together

4.1 . GUI elements fits together

4.2 . game elements vs some GUI elements: little off

5 ... (main menu): looks great maybe add little camera movement & slower darken effect?

5.1 . add stronger hover animation (currently is hardly visible)

6 ... those shaders give a lot of weight to unique look

Design

1 ... this flicker effect triggers effect of dizziness (depends on display 1screen triggered on 2nd did not)

2 ... some actions feels like wood (lerp animations -> my suggest is try different interpolations

3 ... add auto next scene when moving (now I have to go at corner -> press E -> next level)

4 ... add <space click> to close all dialogs even boxes like newspaper.

4.1 . Now you have to click close but when fast reading letter  you are able to space close

5 ... add fast forward in scripted dialogs at start

6 ... forced messages (dialog) feels like you are taking control from player: blocks movement

Controls

1 ... responsive, why is jump for (game looks like 1D gameplay is intended?)

Sound

1 ... I am not fan of old retro style types

2 ... overall good

Bugs

1 ... If I die I am forced in loop where I can not get out and my items are drained (if I used them to fight)

Great storytelling, I love this kind of pixel art.

This is probably the only game in this jam where I saw the use of environmental storytelling. Loved the image puzzle thing, and I was so invested to finding all the pieces of the image. I have no idea how the team was able to add so many mechanics into this game. I especially enjoyed the Loot mechanic, it was fun kind of like gambling. Coming to story, it was harrowing and sad, especially fighting with the dog, if I am correct it was character’s dog and well killing any dog is sad. Also the world that was created which I mentioned earlier with the environmental storytelling is so perfect. Telling a story without actually telling is really hard so congrats to the team for taking such a big risk and it paying off.

This was pretty great! I always love seeing other narrative games during these!

The 2D art is definitely the star here. it looks incredible for a one week jam! The way it blends with the storytelling and the RPG mechanics makes the whole experience feel super polished. Truly impressed by the visuals. great job!! :)

Great game, beautiful art and storytelling.

Nice! A complete experience. Story was well-paced, art was cool, Last of us vibes. Loved the mini game for looting, felt refreshing. Wish I got to put the painting pieces together myself, I had started that process but then found the complete artwork in the house. And would be cool with a highlight or something on interactable objects, as is I was running and mostly focusing on the E to pop up.

The art is beautiful, the story progression feels solid, and the game is very polished overall. Cool work!

First of all, you finished a game that looks great overall — and achieving that in just 7 days is impressive. Great job!

Things I liked:

  • I really like the art style and the way that you tell the story. I can see you have put a lot of effort on the narrative side of the game.

  • Addidng the pokemo´s battle style and that looting mechanic fit well into the game and they have been implemented with no majors bugs which is impressive for a 1 week game.

  • Music and SFXs make their job well

Constructive Feedback:

  • I would recommend you to transition to the next screen when you are on the side and keep walking on that direction instead of pressing E. It will make the game experience more fluent.
