Really cute little adventure.  Loved the art and music work.  Utilizing the concept of bees dancing was clever too.

Thanks for playing <3

super cute! the artwork, game mechanic, and music all worked so well together! :) i found the dawn song hidden in the hive.. but then had to look at the hint to get to the catacombs anyway lol.

Developer

Thank you for playing!!! Yeah in retrospect a few more clues would have been smart

The bees walking in a line and delivering nectar from the flowers was very cute. It added to the worldbuilding nicely. Only struggle I had was when the queen said to ask for more help in finding the catacombs, I couldn't figure out how to bring up the hint. Eventually I realized the puzzle and I'm happy that I wasn't given extra help after all :)

Thanks for playing!!! Yeah it's always kinda tricky knowing how much help to give---don't want people getting stuck but also don't want to ruin the fun of discovering things yourself. I was thinking it could be smart to add some more indicators of the direction of the catacombs possibly?

Cute art style, original bee dancing

It wasn't immediately clear that I had to stand on the platform to talk to the queen

Someone was listening to Anaconda when they made the queen bee

Thanks for playing!! It's funny, I designed her in a bit of a mind numb moment xD
I'm a straight woman but I like drawing pretty women anywayyy~

Nice - on the short side but well polished and cool graphics! The atmoshphere and bee-hive theming is really cute too. Maybe not 100% aligned to the journey theme, but makes up for it!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I started a couple days late and I did all the art and music as well as the majority of the coding so the length was already ambitious for me haha. Can you elaborate on what you mean about it not being aligned to the theme? I was going for an rpg journey feel, did it not come across?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I guess my impression was more of a quest-like feel rather than a "journey" (where there is a beginning, a travel and a destination) ; maybe I misinterpreted it, but I felt like going back and forth to find each flower had more of that quest-like feel, but maybe Its just my interpretation of what we mean by journey here.

In any case - loved it :)

I loved this game! I found it a joy to play to the end and would have happily continued playing. I got hung up on two parts which took me a few minutes to figure out though, firstly the platform next to the queen didn't stand out right away and It took me a while to figure out why I couldn't talk to the queen while standing in front of them, then it also took me a minute to realize where the song to access the catacombs was placed. However I did get a sense of satisfaction when I realized what to do, so it definitely works great as is.

But if you're open to suggestions, some kind of pointed such as the song glowing if not discovered by a certain time, or a queue as to why the interact button doesn't work with the queen at ground level could add a subtle direction as to what the player is expected to do.

I think your team did a great job, keep up the good work!

Thank youuu <3

Moving forward I'll definitely try to add more cues and clarity, and I appreciate the specific advice!! :)

It's really good! The only problem is that it was too short.

The pixel art is very well done and I liked the use of music as gameplay mechanic! I was a little lost after finding the first flower, but the way forward was actually "hidden in plain sight." Great job to the team!

The design of the queen bee is quite something xD
After I had collected the first dance, I unfortunately didn't know how to proceed.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Hmm, did you talk to the queen after? Trying to figure out where different people are getting lost ^^
