Ranked from 22 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

Which theme(s) did your game incorporate, and how?
I used the theme Everything has a cost.
This is represented in two ways in the game: You have to purchase all your abilities with the money you earn, and the story is about a corporation who will do anything to turn a profit, at the cost of the enviroment.

Did you use any pre-made assets? If so, what were they and where were they from?
I used pre-made assets for some of the sprites, sound effects, music and fonts.
The ones I used are linked below. Everything not listed here was made by me.

Smooth platforming feel, the special mechanics are super tight and nice to use! The spike bounce in particular was very interesting and fun to play with. Good use of "resetable" checkpoints. Fanatsic entry!

This was such a fun and cool looking game! Really polished. The purple section was very hard for me but maybe I just suck at platformers. Great job!

Really good (puzzle) platformer entry. I liked how you were force to think an plan a route but it was never "work"... rather fun to do so.

The mechanics were solid and introduced one by one. I like games that can do completely without a tutorial. It's what i wanted for my game but ultimately abandoned.

I expect this to be high up in the rankings

really cool game honestly loved the idea of slowly draining the planet of color while progressing it made me feel weirdly guilty and the platforming felt really smooth and fun, upgrades were clear and i always knew what i needed next, only issues i had were needing mouse for shop stuff and i also hit a bug where i clicked an already sold item and it still took my money which softlocked me, STILL super impressive concept and execution for a jam game and id definitely play a longer version if you keep working on it!!

I loved your game 🤯. Please, keep improving it later, I’d totally play a longer version of it!

What I suggest in case you wanna work on the game more is allowing the player to change the buttons, like binding jump to the up arrow or W, or remaping the powers to be more comfortable to move with WASD.

The only thing I disliked is needing to use the mouse to sell and buy things on the store. If I could do these things only using the keyboard it would be better 🤓.

I really enjoyed playing this, the art and music is very conceptual and cool! Great job!

Thank you! Given the positive respone to the game, I'll probably expand this project sometime in the future, including keybinding. I was a bit short on time, so I kind of had to settle for using built-in mouse-clicked buttons for the store

Yeah, I imagined it was because of time, but that’s totally normal for game jams. Is your game open source by any chance? I’d love to take a look on what you did for this!

Pretty cool concept, and very nicely made, especially given the constraints of the jam. Good job!

So I launch the game and think "wow, that's a pretty neat looking planet." Then continue through what is, in my opinion, an unreasonably good platformer for a two week jam.  I immediately feel dissatisfaction once I get the first chroma node and it drains the color away from the map and realize what I'm in for. I'm actively making the map less interesting by trying to progress. I begrudgingly complete my task and when I arrive back on the menu, I'm greeted by a totally colorless planet!? I audibly groaned "oh noooooo..." So rude. My day is ruined.

Great platformer controls. I knew exactly which upgrades I needed when I was stuck and knew when to leave and revisit a section.  I'm going to leave you with two unsolicited critiques so your day is less good now too.

1) When playing full screen and you try to back out of the shop with escape, it returns from full screen. I see you already fixed that by making tab toggle it, but the text at the bottom of the shop screen said hit escape to exit and my brain didn't even think to hit tab again until I finished the game.

2) There was a missed opportunity to ramp up the difficulty by making desaturated areas more deadly by the spikes being completely hidden without the color adding contrast. You could make the players traverse through the map to an exit, and they'd have to deal with increased difficulty because of their choice to ruin the planet.

Really though, great job. You should be proud!

I'm a big fan of Celeste, and I'm certain you must have drawn inspiration from it for this game. I think the gameplay is fun and the colored sections are the perfect amount of gameplay to get a good feel for the game and get better. This might have been my favorite game to play so far in this jam so great work!

I also really liked how you told the story, with a strong ending!

well done! impessive you managed to get a game that have some ballance to it in a short time

really neat idea. i love the planet at the main menu being filled w color only to lose them all at the end since youve extracted them all for money. pretty pretty cool metroidvania-like. i was really aiming for only having dash but ended up using wall jump, dash, and spike bounce in the end, only earned like $1000 at the end which is sad. great game btw

Really good use of the theme! I love the name-drop at the end and how you incorporated it both into the gameplay and the lore of the world.

The end screen is chilling after the message you just read.

I also thought the shop system turned out to a fun gameplay element in the metroidvania loop. It made it so I didn't end up backtracking too much since once I got the lay of the land I could plan things out in the map with where I'd go and what I'd buy after.

great work!

Visuals: Great pixel art. Love the character animation.

Audio: Simple.

Gameplay: I really like the concept. The level design was well woven together too. Unlockables were cool.

Overall: Felt like a game that was like a simplified Ori.

Feel free to rate my game too. I'd appreciate it
