I reeeeally love all the item designs youve done here! Nailed the retro video game experience of finding a bunch of dope items. Minor nitpicks with the layout being kinda busy, but the content is so so good! Awesome work!
Thank you for reading! The small format and ambitious scope definitely meant that every cm counted.
You absolutely nailed the inspiration- didn't even realize that Dragon Warrior = Dragon Quest and caught myself saying at the end, "man, that had Dragon Quest vibes". I also really liked the "secondary quest" of the imposters and how it scales up as the scenario progresses.
You know, I also didn't realize they were strictly related until I mentioned a jam to a friend! Thanks for reading :)
Very nice nod to the original NES booklets! The map is great and I love your little 8-bit images. They're a fun touch!
Thank you for reading!
While I appreciate the ambition, I think the scope of the project may have been too large for a game jam like this, especially when opting to use the NES booklet format.
That said it is a very cool, thematic entry. Great vibes, clear inspiration and a very pleasant read. Thanks for sharing!
As an old school rpg, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, etc fan I can't help but love the art of this project. I think this would be a great mini adventure to bridge the gap for people that may be video game nerds to the ttrpg space. Awesome work!
Thank you for the kind words!
This guy just nailed the assignment in the most beautiful way. The aesthetics of NES booklets is... CHEF KISS!

Fantastic work! Great use of space, and such a good job working within the prompt. I like the way you operationalize the aesthetics of nes booklets to do very Shadowdark-y worldbuilding. What an inspiration.
Thank you for taking a look! :)
Great vibe. I love the creative 8-bit style artwork and maps. Your editing to make it feel like a game instruction book is a great look and feel.
Thank you! I grew up reading those manuals as a kid. Definately felt the spirit move through me on this one 😂
This is a great adventure. It has that Legend of Zelda feel with the items to boot in a small booklet, really impressive.
Thank you! The small format was a challenge, and definitely forced me to trim everything but the core ideas.
This is outstanding. It touches on influences from each game and seems to be an amazing adventure complete with locations, NPCs, monsters, and loot. In just 16 pages to boot.

This is fantastic. The vibe is pitch perfect and not only is it a great adventure oozing with theme, but it's practically a mini-campaign setting unto itself! All packed into 16 pages. Absolutely glorious.
Much appreciated :) The format was no joke! But I think it helped keep everything laser focused.
