Loved drifting around those icy corners! Really challenging and fun game! Congrats!
This is the type of game that evokes mixed feelings. On the one hand, it seems simple, but on the other hand, it's exciting, as if you're challenging yourself to finally reach the end. I like the visual design, the tutorial, and the levels. The sound effects are also well-chosen.
Lots of cool ideas here! An instant restart would probably go a long way, since I imagine most people will be dying a LOT. This is hard! The driving is very smooth, but the game demands a lot of precision from very imprecise controls (imprecise by design, definitely part of the charm). I like that each level had something new to offer. My favorite mechanic was the grappling hook, but it was held back a bit by the speed/distance relation where being further away makes you wayy faster than being closer to the center, which is unintuitive imo (i know exactly how your code looks for this part, since i've done the same thing). Overall, a good entry, nice work!
Amazing visual style, and the individual mechanics of the game are very solid! I think my only complaints are from the level/game design aspect. I wish that the camera could lead a little bit so you could have a better idea of what to expect. As some other comments mentioned, the "3 2 1" countdown every single time started getting annoying, would have been nice for that to be off as default rather than a setting in the options. Similarly, the music I feel would work better if it just looped once you were in a level instead of restarting when you died. Lastly, I think the controllable character in the game beng a car maybe gave me as a player the wrong impression that I should primarily being going at speed (not necessaritly full-throttle) most of the time, when I found the opposite to be true. There were portions where I felt it best to slow down or even turn around and reverse, rather than risk running head-first into an obstacle or off a curve. Specifically in the slingshot level, there is a part where it seems like I am purposefully set up to readjust to get the distance of the sling right to squeeze through some sawblades on the other side of a chasm. I'd be curious to see if this game could work better with some other sort of character running around rather than a vehicle 🤔But again, beyond those complaints, this is a great game! Amazed that you were able to get unique music tracks for each level, and the UI design is stellar!
The car felt so slick and satisfying to control around turns once I got the hang of it, very well done!
If you had a bad day this game would have made it worse XD
on a serious note though i do think the game is some what fun but also enraging but not to the point of rage quit
i do however wish that you could skip the 3 2 1 intro after a few times (it gets annoying fast)
but other than that good ui good art good soundtrack and its feels slick!
Woah, so much work in this entry. Everything is amazing. Ghost car is such a good trick to make you want to try "just one more time".
The only issue (as others have said)... the initial levels are just too frustrating (level 2 especially!).
I know the whole point is the difficulty, but It takes a while to get the hang of the steering and the drifting... the first couple of levels should make you feel like a drifting god and then build up to the crazy bomb level! It's a game jam, so you know so many people will not put in the effort. At the moment it's "difficult to learn, difficult to master" but with just a bit of level tweaks it would be the holy grail of "easy to learn, difficult to master"!
I'm glad I stuck with it though, because once you get the hang of it then going back to the first levels was way easier. If there was a leaderboard I bet you'd get some seriously addicted players.
My post-jam feature requests: ability to do a camera flyover preview of the track to get a sense of the scope of a level and do some planning, and stretch goal: a level editor with shareable levels!

Thank you very much for playing and the detailed comment! I really agree that it would have been a good idea to have a few easier levels but time got the best of me haha. And I was actually going to add a leaderboard but I dropped it to polish some more stuff. But I do agree that the ability to fly around and see the level beforehand and also a level editor are great ideas!
Super fun. my only critique is that when you restart you could just press a button to begin instead of waiting for 3,2,1,go every time. love the drifting.
This game is really difficult, but extremely fun! I think a level look-over before you start would help with my main issue with the game, that being that you don't know what's coming up ahead of time. Really great game though, with some banger music!
the fact that there is a unique song for every level is absolutely amazing! number 3s is my favorite! Great Game!
This was such a nice polished experience, super difficult but fun. The artstyle is sick. Very slick
