Hey everyone! 👋

First off, congratulations to everyone who submitted a game! I know how stressful the last few days can be.

I’m really proud of my entry, The Time Anomaly. It is a time-travel adventure where every step you take creates a butterfly effect, impacting future events. You start in the Stone Age and get dragged through different eras, fighting to save the future while lost in the waves of time! ⏳

I’d love to hear your honest feedback on it.

I know there are nearly a thousand entries, so let's make a deal to help each other out!

Here is the plan:

  1. Drop your game link in the comments below. 👇
  2. I will play your game, rate it, and leave a constructive comment about what I liked.
  3. In return, I’d really appreciate it if you could give my game a try!

Mainly want opinion regarding the concept, writing and the UI. Any other opinions too -good or bad doesn't matter.

The UI looks pretty good, there are minor issues in some parts, sentences overlap, etc. I haven't quite figured out how to play the game yet, but it's pretty good for a week's work. Well done.

I have played your game. Love the music and the atmosphere. Is there a way to avoid the T-rex. I keep missing it in the fog and getting eaten by it

Thanks for your comment. Yes, escaping the dinosaur isn't that hard, actually. You need to hide without entering its field of vision and collect the mushrooms. After collecting the mushrooms, you beam yourself to another universe. Info: Listen carefully to the dinosaur sounds. If you comment on the game's own page, it would make me very happy. I'll play your game at the first opportunity.

Your game is very well done, high quality and smooth operations.  I especially like the music and atmosphere.  Really nice look, caveman and scene totally nail the look needed.  Like most games, I jumped right in to try without reading much about it.  I'm a fan of the mouse look and WASD movement mechanics.  I found the club a bit hard to target correctly.  Since I didn't read before going in, I was unsure of what to do for the start.  I found my way to UFO's and was puzzled even more.  After reading your post I see what you are going for I gave it another slower look and try.  It was clearly obvious (10 mushrooms) as the goal, avoid dinosaurs! (he got me last time!)

Very solid game, you are right to be proud of your effort there!

It's a good thing there is a month of ratings time.  Here's my submission, I probably spent every other day doing something or another adding to it.  Hope you value Scrabble and enjoy this WAVES themed submission.  Multi-player scrabble variation filled with WAVES themes.  Multiple languages, play in browser, mobile friendly and a lot of variation to traditional scrabble that implement the WAVES theme.

I hadn't played Magic Words in a long time.  When the sound effect came in, I said wow.

There's also background music and a bunch of configurable options in the setting menu.  I know that this 'game' has a heavy HTML web-page look and feel.  Perhaps I'll try some Godot or Unity for a 3d World game on a future jam.  For now, HTML, JavaScript, Canvas and things like that are what I know and get the job done.  By the way, I have several word-game submissions to previous jams - https://lostwords.itch.io/

you made this with HTML?   you have a talent bro

Yes, you should definitely get into a game development engine.

I will definitely take a look. It was nice to meet you.

Thanks, it's HTML with JavaScript - really JavaScript can do anything.  I find it quick and easy to just throw stuff into JavaScript and make it happen.  Ultimately there is a <canvas> element that allows drawing to it.  And mouse event listeners so you can capture the mouse/touches.  HTML/JavaScript it's a lot easier than engines for many things.  Using libraries like ThreeJS and MatterJS you can even do physics and 3d.

    ctx.drawImage( playerImage, x, y, w, h );

My man, if you did this using HTML and JavaScript, I can't even imagine what you could do if you got into a real game engine. Good luck with Jam!

Wow, I figured out the targeting of the club -- just the 'circle' target, though the club animation is off to the side.  No worries there.  Also, after some idle time, I noticed the caveman voice and smiled.  Nice extra touch/polish, higher marks for those things as well!

I wrote the code to pull back the stick so that when it gets too close to an object,

it pulls back toward itself to avoid hitting it.

I wanted to add a little spice to the cave man's voice, yes :)

Hi, I tried playing your game, I really liked the music and the atmosphere and specially the sounds of the caveman. Being eaten by the dino everytime was not fun but I ended up enjoying it the most in whatever time I could play as I found collecting the mushrooms hard. I also saw the level design video you posted, great work!

Loved your game and the bonk sound was pretty funny :D . The player movement felt a bit slow to me, and I think the lighting could be improved, but overall it was a great experience.
Heres my game. It an arcade game with fast paced sci fi actions. Please let me know what you think about it.

I played and rated your game. It had great 3D graphics and the game play was fun. It almost felt like a console game.
