thanks for playing, you can configure the difficulty in the options from normal -> hard

(1 edit)

I like the game, the sound and specially the loading animation from monitor screen to full screen is beautifully executed. My sugestion is maybe choosing a different color palette for the player, also the texts too, With the current pixel art style it is very difficult for me to understand what to do and also I kept missing where my player went. Overall a really good game! Also I struggled to really jump higher and was stuck at level 1 :'(

I really tried playing the game, however the small text made it impossible for me to progress at all.

Thank you for trying trhe game anbd leaving a review. I think some parts of the game are definitely easy, currently there is no penalty in placing towers too close to each others apart from the pulse tower deactivating nearby towers if it hits them. We have plans to expand on the overall gameplay and once we push a new patch containing a whole new set of changes we would love for you to try out the game and give us your review. Thanks again!

Thank you for taking time out and trying the game, more-so-over leaving a review. We really appreciate that. We are still in the process of building this to completion and would love to gather your reviews once it is done.

Thank you for taking the time out and playing the game. I really appreciate the comment. For the jam I will keep the game same but I am going to push a big patch that removes the bugs and fully completes this indie game. I will let you know so you can also try it out, thanks!

Hi, Thanks for playing the game. You ran into the only bugs unfortunately which I did not have time to fix.
There are two known bugs which will be fixed with a patch, it is unfortunate that you ran into both of them.

1. Watch full story causes the levels not to work unless you restart. (this was a bit tricky to fix and identify honestly, I put the story mode for personal debugging and left it there :P)
2. In tutorial, if you kill the phantom before it disables the towers then the tutorial is stuck. (I initially put the fix in the build but later realised the code was overriding the behaviour. This is now fixed and in the next patch, which I would like you to play once I push it you can see it fixed.)

I have fixed both of them and am planning to push a bigger patch with the final level implemented, so I will ask you to wait on those bugs unfortunately.

The reason the towers would deactivate are as follows:

1. The phantom deactivates the towers it passes by.
2. The towers themselves deal damage to each other if they hit each other leading to them being disabled.
3. If you place the tower close to the Purple (static) rift then it periodically emits a wave which disables the towers.

There is also the blue (nexus) rift which emits nexus wave which kills the phantom and enables any deactivated towers.

Thank you for playing the game and leaving a feedback, its a shame you encountered all the few handful known bugs which I could not fix because of the time limit of the jam.

Thanks for leaving a feedback, I am glad you liked it. What language are you comfortable in? Maybe I can put some work and add multi language support :P

Nice game! I love the art style, also the moving background of the sea is really mesmerising. If I may, I would like to suggest changes to the HUD panel on the right had a lot of information which made it overwhelming in the first level.

The art style is great, however for me it was also that got me confused. The game needs some polish but the overall gameplay was sublime. Also for some reason I could only hear whistling in my ears which made me want to stop playing after a while as it got a bit irritating. What exactly is that?

Thanks for taking time out and playing the game even though Tower defense is not your go-to  thing. I am glad you liked the tutorial and the visual style!

cool game, gave me half life vibes which I am all up for. the character design and pixel-ish look really brings be back to the early days of half life and cs 1.6 (playind on 3d not opengl :P) here is my submission and I would love your feedback: https://itch.io/jam/game-off-2025/rate/4085175

i like the game, nice art style, calming sounds, simply click and get the boat to destination. The game is very mouse heavy, but apart from that good job!

I like the theme, It is also one of the few tower defense entries like our submission. I found it a little difficult to understand how to place towers, but a simple drag and drop worked fine!

Thank you for playing our game and leaving a review. Since we are new to game dev and game jam the idea was to go with a game mode we are comfortable making. Thanks!

i really love the aesthetics of the game, your take on tower defense is a refreshing. The visuals and sound design is brilliant. Great work! The game itself is still a bit buggy but I am playing on chrome so idk if on windows it might be better. The fonts were a bti too small for me and there was some lag during the waves of enemies. Overall a visually pleasing game.

I liked the concept idea but I think the gameplay broke for me. Whe I served the first two creatures after it the subsequent creatures would just leave if I press F on them before giving me any orders.  I did notice my money go up so I am assuming this is some bug which is causing this. Overall I like the innovative idea of serving food to sea creatures and managing wave of incoming customers.

This is a good looking game—absolutely beautiful with the lights and sound design! It really adds an impact. I thoroughly enjoyed playing it and was invested in the core mechanic of crashing to make waves.

A small suggestion: I found the simple wave-spamming mechanic a little easy; some incentive for more strategic wave creation would be great! Also, the angled, close-up camera made it a bit tricky to gauge distance while moving.

Nonetheless, I had great fun playing this, Kudos to the team!

🎮 Quantum Defense - Voice-Narrated Tower Defense! 🎙️ (First Game!)

Play here: https://gabru-md.itch.io/quantum-defense

Hey everyone! This is my first game ever, made in under 15 days for Game Off 2025. I'd love your feedback!

What makes it different?

  • Full voice acting and narrated tutorial - helps you learn as you play
  • Story-driven gameplay - there's an actual narrative behind why you're defending
  • Active player role - you're not just placing towers, you're on the battlefield
  • Clean UI/UX - designed to be intuitive for first-time players

What is it?

A sci-fi tower defense game where YOU are an active participant on the battlefield. Build towers, use your Resonance Wave ability (press E) to revive deactivated towers and damage enemies, and defend against waves of digital invaders!

Theme interpretation (WAVES):

  • Enemy waves with diverse types
  • Player's Resonance Wave ability
  • Visual tower pulses
  • Escalating strategic waves

What I'm looking for:

  • General feedback on gameplay and polish
  • Thoughts on the voice acting / tutorial approach
  • Does the theme integration work for you?
  • Any bugs or issues (besides the final level)

A bit about the journey:

This was made by me and my co-contributor Liriano24 who handled music and sound. We wanted to focus on polish and accessibility over innovation for our first game. The voice work was something I really wanted to try to make the game more engaging!

I'll be rating and playing other games too, so drop your links below and let's exchange feedback! 🎯

Thanks for checking it out, and good luck to everyone in the jam!

⚠️ Known Issues:

  • Final level isn't finished (you'll see a message on screen)
  • Don't kill the Phantom in the tutorial - let it disable the tower naturally
  • If story breaks, press ~ (tilde) to skip or just reload the page

I'm collecting bugs for a patch - please let me know if something breaks!

P.S. - If you enjoy it, I'm planning to expand it with level stats, a proper boss fight, and more polish for a Steam release in a few months. Your feedback will really help shape that!

Thank you very much for playing the game! We are happy you liked it!

Hello, Thank you for taking time out and playing the game and more so over leaving a feedback. The issues you are running into is a known issue which I did not have time to fix due to limited energy and time. It usually happens when you kill the Phantom before the towers are deactivated. I need to add a fix for that which I will be doing in the coming week. We also plan to finish this game polish it more, add more levels, Level Complete Stats screen etc that would make it a full package. Also there is a known Issue in Story mode playback (I put it for my debugging tbh, not the bug but the ability to see storymode) that due to some bug it causes the levels to only show the story unless you refresh the screen. These are some minor bug fixes that we still need to address and will do as soon as I have recovered from the energy drain from the game jam xD. Once again thanks a lot! If you'd like to replay the levels please do so. We will also let you know when the game is completed and available to download via Steam. Thanks a lot!

Hi, I am using chrome, the music works but the game simply does not load. I think there is a bug preventing it from loading on the browser

Thank you for taking the time out, playing the game and leaving a feedback. I am overwhelmed by how much people are liking the game made in 15-ish days. By the end of development I was feeling that the game itself doesn't show significant changes when polishing it but with all the reviews and feedback on it's general playability really is a strong motivator to finish the game and the fact that the small polihing details added everyday are noticable really makes our day! Thanks again!

Thanks for taking time out and playint the game. I am glad you liked it. Thank you for your kind words. Yes the last level did not work because it is not implemented (it is still in development), I think you missed the text that says it on the screen. But I was running out of energy and time to spend on finishing the last level such that it cohesively works with the theme and the story. Although with so many positive feedback I have the motivation to finish the level and publish this game on steam. It will be quite fun. THanks for your kind appreciative words and feedback!

Thank you for taking time out and playing our game and leaving a feedbackl! I am glkad you liked it. We wish to expand on it, finish the final level and polish it more in the future.

Really loved the game! The idea is fantastic, I am coming back to this after the jam!

I think this will be difficult to identify then, however since this is a game built during the jam I expect it to break at places that I could not play test. One known bug is when you press space quite fast trying to skip things and it crashes things. I did not have the energy to fix it but I will assume this is the same thing that happened.

However (and I would like that) if you still feel like playing the game again and skipping the story all together then you can press the ~ (tilde) key on your keyboard. It is a built-in feature to allow me to debug levels faster.

Thank you very much for taking time out and trying the game!

Hi, could you also share what were you trying to do when the game decided to crash? This can help me investigate the issue faster. Thanks!

Its a very well made game, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it and look forward to playing it again with different tactics. Very well done art, had me hooked all the way. I struggled to find relevance to the waves, but definitely one of the best made games I played so far in this jam! Kudos to the team.

I found it quite hard to understand what needs to be done, the pixel art is very well done but with all the information on the screen bombarded to me at once with so many banners saying what I need to do I was overwhelmed and had to stop playing the game. I put the water down with E and then I kept trying to press R but nothing happened. Can you suggest me what I might be doing wrong?

Hey! I really liked the art style, the game is quite well made. Kudos to you for the effort you put in as a solo game maker. I have to say the graphics/art is your best skill not discounting the game dev skills ofcourse. I find the art very hard to make myself xD

Smooth to play game, liked the sounds!

Review
I like this game, I also like the mexican waves in Football games. It was one of my ideas too but decided not to build it for my first game.

May I suggest a small of improvement?

  • The text that says Great, etc blends very well with the background making it incredibly hard to see.

Great fun to play tiny game which I was very much invested in hahahah!

Hi, I tried playing your game, I really liked the music and the atmosphere and specially the sounds of the caveman. Being eaten by the dino everytime was not fun but I ended up enjoying it the most in whatever time I could play as I found collecting the mushrooms hard. I also saw the level design video you posted, great work!
If you would like to try mine here it is: https://itch.io/jam/game-off-2025/rate/4085175

I Like the idea that you are trying to build. I tried playing the game, but I found it quite hard to navigate. With that said, the music and the sound effects of the caveman are really cool! Maybe try reducing the mushroom count for the initial stage because I was eaten by the dino everytime I tried playing the level. Maybe just me but I was a bit confused where to go. tbh I enjoyed being eaten by the dino hahaha. I can suggest making it more intuitive or perhaps a way to see map? I like the effort you have put in the game. Good Going!

It is a nice game however the controls were a bit difficult to get used to. W & S keys are used to control the angle of the emitted wave which is non-intuitive to me. Also the placement of the wave is done by Space which I am more used to as a Jump key. Nice little puzzle game otherwise!

I can't stop dying because the audio is so funny hahaha

Thank you very much for taking time out and playing the game and more so leaving a feedback. Since this is the first game we have worked on we wanted to make it as intuitive for the player as possible. The mechanics were kept simple (yet interesting) and a story is added to blend everything together to make sense of it all. I am really glad you liked the art style as it (the art style) is really my Achilles' heel. As a developer on the game, I took full help from my co-contributor Lira who helped design the music and sounds that helps bring all of it together as one package. We do aim to finish the game and add more changes like Level Stats after the game is over and definitely a final fight between Static and Nexus/Guardian to close of the fun little game. Thank you for your kind words.

Also, It is not present but since I needed to debug the game, when you play a story you can press ~ (tilde) key to skip the story incase you want to start the level directly :D
