Really fun game, had a blast playing, I just had mines just dropping everywhere. the only feedback is the jump height but I know you already fix that, so well done. here's a playthrough of your game it starts at 4:24:36. Great job and I can't wait to see what this game turns into. :D

Pretty cool, I like the roguelike aspect but don't love the intro platforming to get to it. And can be a bit frustrating to want to complete a challenge but then just be thrown a new one. Maybe like checkpoint flags?  But also not really my genre so I don't know anything.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

We’re already working on improving the game to make it more “Friendly”.

The Rogue Lite aspect was designed so that each death, while certainly a fresh start, offers the promise of progress thanks to collected upgrades.

Really nice concept, i like the controls and the style, nice work! Music is awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

It’s really appreciated. Our sound designer is thrilled. He really put his heart and soul into the music.

The intro is nice. Also it shows you guys put a lot of effort in it: different levels, a lot of design, etc... The controls doesn't feel really polished to me, but I am not a really good platform kind of games player. Thanks for the game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! ^^ We did our best.

The level designer and I (the programmer) are way too used to platformers (Mikachu, the level designer, is playing Silk Song right now ^^’). On the last day, when we had some friends test it, we realized our game was really hard X)

We didn’t upgrade the character for fear of breaking the whole game, but we simplified most of the level designs and made sure to keep the cybernetic enhancements. So, if you beat the first level several times, you’ll get stronger and the game will be easier, allowing you to go further ;)

That is good to know. I will give it another try. Thanks for the reply.

Such a cool intro and premise, really well put together! I really liked the opening cutscene.

A few small notes: the wall climb/lean seemed to kick in a bit too quickly at times when I wasn’t expecting it, and maybe consider adding a bit of coyote time (or a bit more if it’s already there) for jumping. Also, a small nit-pick, I wasn’t a big fan of how the dust particles looked.

Overall, great job!

As for expanding on it, this could make for a really cool little roguelite. Definitely worth giving it some more thought!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

It gives us strength.

We’re giving ourselves a week to think about it and decide whether to finish it or not. ^^

But one thing is for sure: as soon as I have the courage to reopen Godot, I’m fixing that jump that stops immediately against the walls.

It was on our to-do list, but we ran out of time

Such a cute idea! The platforming was a little too slippery for me, but I did have fun leaping around levels.
Nice job on bringing this together :)

Developer

Thank you so much!

Actually, it’s the character that’s slippery… We discovered why platform characters are rarely long ^^ (We had to make a choice: either he slipped, or his feet were off the ground on every edge :/)

Nice game. I like how you actually tweaked the sprites to show the transformation over time. I wanted to do something similar but we were a smaller team and I just layered different sprites.

FYI, there is something broken somewhere. At some point, can’t tell if it was after some upgrades or after some time but the screen started shaking, the music stopped and the framerate became soo slugish it was impossible to play.

Also, you may want to tweak the “wall run” sensibility. Often I wanted to jump to some ledge but if I was too close to a wall it would start wall running but then the jump height is significantly smaller.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much for the feedback.

As for the transformations, Pixel Basta (aka Yan Shosta) designed them all during the week. He’s really amazing! ^^

Developer

Regarding the screen shaking, it seems to be due to the browser’s graphics acceleration (you have to enable it)… but it appears right from the start. I’ve tried several times and it’s never happened to me in the middle of a game.

Submitted(+1)

In case it helps investigate further, the screen shake did not start from the beginning. I was able to play and everything was smooth at the beginning. Everything started at the same time, screen shake, music stop, huge lag. I had been playing for a while but couldn’t anymore after this and I couldn’t reach the boss.

Developer

May I ask which browser you are using?

Submitted(+1)

Chrome on Windows with GPU.

Developer

On the other hand, the lag, yes, I experienced it once on itch.io but couldn’t figure out why. I’ll have to investigate (anyway, it would have been too late for the jam ^^’).

Developer

And about jumping next to a wall keeping us on the ground: it was on the list of things to fix, but we didn’t have time. It’s a side effect of jumping against a wall while in motion making us climb higher. As it stands, you should especially avoid getting too close to the wall at the start of the jump.

I hope you were able to reach the boss despite these problems :)

This game seems pretty well done and fairly polished. The concept is pretty cool and cute. Good job!

Developer

Thanks =) It was really hard to finish on time. We were only able to include a third of the ideas we had ^^

Great game !

Developer

Thank you ^^
