Very good idea and insanely polished!
This is an excellent use of the limitation, and the colours are graphics are amazing!!
Very satisfying game! Level progression and dialogues are nice too!
Yessss I was waiting for this one!!! Great gameplay loop, and super polished!!
Almost everything about this was great! The only minor gripe i have is how slow the snake animations are, they themselves are not that much of a problem but are often annoying when you're just sitting there waiting for a snake to move out of the way
I agree, this was the only thing that could've been improved imo
Great look and sound! Excellent presentation.
I felt like it was easy if you just waited in the holes until the snake passed, but that made it tedious, too, waiting for all the snakes to take their turn. Maybe a turn limit would be nice.
Nice puzzzler, good use of limitation in the game mechanic.
Oh, this is one of the best I've tried from the jam. I thought it would be like mine, but it's super original.
It is an impressive entry, everything is well done ! The snake's movements, the turns system, and the great map visuals. I really wonder how you made the snakes path in the editor. Anyway I enjoyed it a lot, amazing job !
The snakes are animated tiles so they only move in 48 pixel increments and then the animation makes them look smooth. The animations and collisions change dynamically based on the underlying board tile and what frame of the snake animation for that tile is shown. Thanks for playing!
Really interesting, thank you for your answer :)
Brilliant game, amazing for a solo project and I love how you managed to get the smooth turning snakes and curved levels to look so good. My only gripe was same as CavoX5. Would have honestly been nice to have a skip turn button that if you double tapped zoomed snakes tho their correct new position. On the mission with the long and short snake for example I had to wait 5 turns for the big snake to get out of the way of the exit, and then on the many looping snakes level the turn time made me quit at that point. Sometimes a certain level of polish in turn based games (you had it done well) can bog down the player if it's unskippable, especially with longer turn times (where I only get to make one move but like 8 enemies have to make a move it adds up.).
Thanks for the feedback! I may push a change here shortly to address this one since it’s came up twice in a row.
Very nice game! my only gripe with it is that I find that the snake's turns take too long I think that maybe only showing the turns of the snakes that are on screen could be a fix, though overall great game.
Did you find them taking too long when holding down the fast forward button even too?
I was planning to play around a bit with variable timing (snakes turn increases based on the number of snakes present on a board, etc) but ran out of time on this one.
yes I was holding the fast forward and still found it too slow, I also find it quite uneccessary to show me things that are happening across the map
Awesome. Great feedback. Thank you!
I like the style and the concept of the game. The palette is so satisfying, remind me of something but i can't recall what. It's an awesome job considering you did it alone!
You did this solo?? This is so good!
Thanks! I think the trick is to keep the mechanic simple for short jams like this so you can implement it and then polish, polish, polish!
Thank you so much for the tip, I'll remeber that :)
Fun game! Highly enjoyed sneaking around the snakes.
