I could only beat 5 and 6 because the evil rotating knob that I hate isn't in it. Very fun idea and good job on the game!

Nice entry. The concept is very cool!

Just a couple thoughts/observations

  • The CRT aesthetic works great for stationary games like yours, but in other games that require movement in a 3D environment it can give me a bit of motion sickness (That has nothing do with your game, just needed to vent after playing so many of them XD).
  • Enemy can spawn at the very edge of the screen on Level 5. There’s no way to shoot them.
  • I think the levels should be designed with a maximum of 2 controls. Any more than that is a bit too overwhelming for me.

Thank you for your feedback!

Yeah, there's a lot of RNG that can just go bad at the moment - I fear that's a classic jam problem. As for the controls: We've noticed during testing that it depends a lot on the player and how comfortable they are with fast context switches and mouse handling. For me, the game is about mastering the controls, while the actual defense game is very much secondary to that. So the overwhelming part is the challenge. But I hear you, there are also a bunch of games that just do not work for me - bullet hells for example.

Very clever entry. I loved the game and the different levels with their unique controls. I really liked how the controls are physically part of the TV instead of being simple keyboard bindings. It really boosted the game feel and the atmosphere you created.

Thank you for making all the levels accessible from the start, because I could not beat level 2 even though I managed to beat every other level. The game is so much fun and one of the most unique I have played in this jam in terms of mechanics. Truly well done.

Thank you for playing!

Honestly the main intention was to allow players to come back to the game without having to start everything from the beginning. I think having an easy unlock option is a good feature for jam games, we'll definitely keep that around.

So this is what the Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant does in his free time. I could not help it but see the reference with Godot and buttons :)

Really cool idea, have to once try something like this as well. Great job on this one!

I would be very happy if you coud review my little game as well, should be a quick one.

Thank you!

For me, the big inspiration was Kenney's Frick Inc. But PVKK has a very similar "hands on" concept, I agree!

Takes me back to the days when everything used to have really tactile buttons & switches (they're overly complicated and I love it!). It's fun figuring out how the different cannon and levers work for each level, I just wish it was positions somewhere on the bottom of the screen instead of the side so I can view both the lever and the cannon much easier. Other than that, it's a solid game. Keep up the good work!

It's always been a dream of mine to build custom controllers for highly specific games. Maybe one day I actually will, but this is a close second.

Really would like to try this in VR though

I love the level selection and the mechanics of the game, its a really fun game! Can you also give feedback for my game?

I love seeing Godot games! Definitely recognized the CRT shader.  Nicely done! Really liked your take on the theme. The game looked really clean and the animations and camera movements were really well done! Catchy music choices too.

Having said that, this game reminded me of how much I hated Atari games and old 80s defense games like this. However I give you credit for the creative puzzle-like controls. Really neat "trick".

Very solid entry.

Thank you! The controls being the "hard" part of the game was inspired by Kenney's Frick Inc. I can't say I particularly like defense games either, but it was an easy, fast to grasp concept to apply the controls to.

Very fun! Loved the slightly different controls getting a little challenging every level.

Really fun take on laser defender! The ship was a little hard to move and the random spawner had been brutal to me (2 enemies on the extremes) XD! I liked the CRT aesthetic on the screen. Great job!

This is awesome!

One of my favorite games so far! The game being the controls is a very fun idea!I don't remember the level number, but the level with the cannon where you scrolled side to side and used the joy stick knob to go up and down might be my favorite of the ones I played. Felt very good to time the shot to hit just right.

I really liked the screen effect as well! I wanted to get something similar for my game, but I don't know enough about Godot shaders yet and didn't give myself enough time to learn. But you nailed it!

Amazing job!
