This game was too stressful for me, to be honest. That poor first kid never got the attention of his crush, unfortunately. But the challenge was interesting each time, and I really liked your interpretation of cooking mechanics. Also, the game looks positively adorable and charming, good work on that front!

This game took me back in time! As a kid, I used to play a lot of potion-making games and stuff like that. It's really cute and well-made! I had fun! And it's really, really cute visually!

Submitted

Very cute game. The potion mixing was fun, but sometimes the amounts spun up very fast and I overshot the target. Not sure if the kind of movements I make influence that. I didn't get how the boiling meter worked and I successfully ignored it xD good job

Awesome game, really had fun playing this for a few rounds. Ive played potioncraft quite a bit and this one reminded me of that quite a lot, but it had some nice added mechanics on the crafting side, which i loved! Like how you need to hold a particular recipe on the cauldron to get the right quantity! I also liked how you had to interpret the kids' wishes and select a recipe accordingly, was really thought out well. A few things maybe you could do to make it a bit smoother is to have a short tutorial for the first round (i know it can be hard in a game jam given the limited time!) that would help explain the mechanics well (for example i was confused what the space bar did and i kept getting a warning signal). But overall this is a great game and i loved the visuals as well, well done :)

This was a fun game - very unique!  Great graphics and music.
I enjoyed playing, but it was pretty hard to add the right amount of ingredients.  I usually put too much in.

quite a challenging game but i liked the potion mixing aspect. very well thought out and done. maybe the potions could be ain aplhabetical order tho to make finding the correct one easier?
good work :)

The concept of Wizard Candy Maker is engaging, but the gameplay feels rushed and lacks clarity. The need to multitask without a proper tutorial makes it challenging, especially for players unfamiliar with the mechanics. Additionally, the game's pace could benefit from a more gradual introduction to its systems. If you have a moment, I'd appreciate it if you could check out and rate my Halloween jam game too: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

I love the Idea and execution of this game, only issue i had is i had to do 2 things at the same time and i am very bad at that. it became a bit easier when i noticed you did not keep the temperature correct the whole time though. I enjoyed playing this. What would really would have helped is a slower tutorial where i at least can try out the mechanics before being thrown into the thick of it.

But great game for a jam

The art for the "cooking" scene is top-notch.  I understand the need for the fast pace, but I wish there was a "casual" mode, where I could take my time and make the potions - my brain is a little slow.

I was able to click some buttons multiple times  - turning them off after the first click would solve this.

Developer

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback Jefukuri!

I love your idea of a casual mode! That’s definitely something I’d like to explore for future updates so players can enjoy a more relaxed version too.

Also, great catch about the multiple clicks issue — I’ll make sure to fix that.

I really loved the look and vibe of this game. I really suck at these types of games which makes it all the more fun. I would suggest possibly making the game slightly more forgiving, I always messed up the ingredients because I went slightly over the limit. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words! 😊

I’m really glad you enjoyed the vibe, even with the challenge! I totally get what you mean about the ingredient timing — I’ll definitely consider making it a bit more forgiving so it feels fairer while keeping the tension. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback!

This is an original idea. Helping these kids achieve their dreams feels gratifying.

I was destabilized by the door knock. I heard it so good in my headset that I really thought someone was actually knocking at the room's door ; I even went at the door to find no one. Nice choice of music as well.

But I'm quite frustrated my the mechanics. Pointing-clicking is no issue, but I didn't notice that the spacebar was needed ; and even when I used it, I failed most of the ingredients. I'm not even sure all this makes an actual difference.

A 4th guest would have been interesting, just to bring some variations from one game to the other.

That's a good start, but the mechanics and the events need refinement. Good job anyway !

Developer

Thank you so much for taking the time to play and write such detailed feedback! 🙏

I’m really happy you enjoyed the concept and atmosphere — especially the idea of helping kids achieve their dreams (and haha, sorry for the door knock scare, that one gets a lot of people 😅).

You’re absolutely right about the mechanics needing clearer guidance — the spacebar part in particular could’ve been communicated better. I’ll definitely work on improving the tutorial and refining the gameplay flow so it feels more intuitive and responsive.

Cute art style and the knocking door sound effect is soooo true that scared me lol (I thought there were some one knocking my real door uwu)  It is a little bit hard at the very beginning like other says. Overall Nice entry!!!

Developer

Hahaha I know exactly what you mean — I kept checking my own door while testing that sound too! 😂
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and thanks a lot for playing and sharing your feedback!

was more stressed than at work XD like someone else mentioned would be nice to train the player with a easy receipt at the beginning. Besides that i just loved the feeling of the game/ the aesthetics - Great Job!

Developer

Haha oh no — I didn’t mean to give you work-level stress! 😅
I hope it was at least the fun kind though! Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words about the feel and aesthetics — really appreciate it!

A cute, sweet and short micromangement game! I really enjoyed the micromanagement mechanics!

Although the only thing I would like to mention as feedback was that when just starting off in the game, it is a little hard to tell which ingredient is which

Great work all around though!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game, Grooba! 😊

I really appreciate the feedback — you’re absolutely right about the ingredient visibility. It’s something we’ve heard a few times, and I’ll definitely work on making that clearer in future versions or jams.

this seems like an interesting game!! I’d love to play this once it’s in the market. Love the design, love the art! Thanks for the game it looks lovely :)

Developer

Thank you so much! And I’m really flattered that you see the potential for this game to grow further.

Omg so cute!! <3 You really feel the urgency of the recipe. Maybe start with simpler recipes to train the player, was a bit fast right up front. Balancing everything for the recipe was super neat!

Developer

Thank you so much, Trihkal! I’m really glad you enjoyed our cute art style😊
I’ll definitely keep your suggestion in mind about easing players in with simpler recipes — that’s great feedback for future jams.

I loved this game so much, one of my favorites in this jam already! The designs and artstyle are super cute and I like the idea of seeing inside the characters' thoughts to make their recipe. I was literally panicking to look for the right ingredients , stir, and keep the cauldron heated! I love that mechanic.

I would like it though if the cooking part was made slightly simpler and slower, so that way people get to understand and settle into the gameplay idea.

Seriously, this is so well made! keep it up!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review and feedback, Ruwaid! Your kind words really mean a lot.

I’ll definitely keep the learning curve in mind for future jams — finding that balance between challenge and accessibility is something I’ll work on more next time. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

That looks super cool! So many different gameplay elements present in the game. It's impressive work, especially for such short period of time. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! That really means a lot. 💖
It was a wild mix of ideas I wanted to try within the short jam time, so I’m really glad you enjoyed all the different elements coming together. Appreciate you taking the time to play and leave such kind words!
