Cool!
I sent everyone to hell and got fired!

There is a TON to love of about this! The art, the JAZZ, the character designs, all exquisite. The overall game design is a really smart idea. The different religions add a fascinating layer to how to judge every single character, though it'd be helpful if the character interviews went a bit deeper. It can be tough to judge someone by their sense of humor if all they talk about is tea. Still an incredible effort for a weekend game jam and would love to see this taken further!

PAPERS PLEASED AND THATS NOT MY NEIGHBOUR VIBE?! YES PLEASE!!! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. i took me a bit to get the hang of it but im OBSESSED!

I love the atmosphere you've created. I actually enjoyed reading through the manual. At first begrudgingly, because I thought "ah man, tutorial.". But seeing the bizarre rules made me do a double take. I needed to explore this world. Lucky for me, the characters gave me a glimpse of the happenings in wider society. This is the truest depiction of of a soul reaping bureaucrat I've ever seen.

I got fired the first day. But that says more about me than you.  I was busy admiring the details. I also didn't know it was timed until I heard the warning ticks.  The UI gets in it's own way a bit. You've transcended the need of UI thanks to the artistic detail and well established rules.  The immersion happened surprisingly fast. The manual was my friend.

This is in fact, a top notch grim simulator.

Honestly, It'd be cool to hear about the brainstorming that lead to the different religions and this concept as a whole. You guys are weirdos. The kind of weirdos who build worlds. Great job.

I'm a big fan of Papers Please, so I had to give this a go! You put a lot of work into the artwork and it shows, so kudos to that! :) I do think the mechanics/things to look out for in order to make a decision is a bit difficult! Other than that, I think this is a great entry ❣️

This is a cool one! I agree with some of the previous commenters that it felt pretty overwhelming at the start. Making a connection to Papers Please which this seems to draw heavily upon, I think it was important that that game started off with a simple binary “Are you from Arstotzka, Y/N? (Glory to Arstotzka)” and then ramped up the complexity from there.

Then again, that game also took longer than 4 days to make, so the comparison is unfair. Still, I think what you’ve made suits the theme great, the graphics are well drawn and the gameplay still manages to tickle the bureaucrat part of my brain in just the right way.

This could totally be a whole game on it's own . Good twist and use of theme. A bit overwhelming on the start though, but of course this is already awesome for just a few days of work!

Lots of great stuff here! A very good papers please recreation with a nice heaven/hell spin on it. Even with the manual I was a bit confused on how to rate people. Once guy came in wht a star passport, a snail t-shirt, and was talking about burying tea leaves. I had no idea what to do with that guy! It would be better split into small groups so you can get your feedback quicker I think. I swear I'm only being critical because I liked it so much! Very well done for 4 days

"Once guy came in wht a star passport, a snail t-shirt, and was talking about burying tea leaves. " Haha, that sounds about right :) It was a decent amount of work for 4 days, but also some of the issues we have are because of how much we tried to do. There are some issues with the rule verification and character generation, so it not being clear is normal. We've fixed that a bit already, so if you're curious about it, once the jam is over,  we'll upload a version with some fixes that should make it more playable.

I like this, it's very entertaining, the art looks great, and the character designs are unique. It feels quite polished. I personally find it a bit difficult to make decisions correctly, but when I'm in a pinch I just send them to hell, that usually seems to work.

Visuals, gameplay, sound, everything is so good. Random people generation, rules pages really well done (Quite jealous to be honest)

Great game, something like this came to my mind, but we wouldn't have been able to implement it at the proper level. It's great that someone did a better job than we would have done. (Please rate our game)

This game has everything got it going on , the art, music, sound, the gameplay loop it just feels great to play.It shows that it was made by a talented group of people. And I think all those who drink their tea cold should just BURN IN HELL! lol.

This was really neat, I love the artstyle, everything looked and felt super clean and polished! I am definitely not a great Reaper, but I had a good time regardless LOL

The art is amazing, and you nailed the paperwork gameplay loop! I think I might be misunderstanding the rules though, since I keep getting penalized for incorrectly processing people. I thought the religion in their passport would be the one whose criteria needs to be met (e.g. if their passport shows the eternal tea, you check their behaviour against the eternal tea's rules), and anything relating to other religions (such as if they're wearing a shirt with a different symbol or mentions other religion in their lifestyle) doesn't matter, but I'm probably missing something. Thankfully meeting the quota still pays pretty well, so I can keep going xD

Other than that, I think you could ease in the number of rules a bit slower so there aren't as many to start, and I ran into a few bugs (text overflow in the rulesbook, and people briefly appearing during the change of day transition). Minor issues all in all, just thought I'd report them. Great work!

Oh wow the art in this game is absolutely amazing. I love games like papers please or death and taxes so this fits perfectly into my niche. Great job on this game!

Amazing entry, the art looks flawless and the music is perfect in setting the mood, reminds me of a merge between papers please and that's not my neighbor! It would be cool to see this expanded upon, had a lot of fun playing !

Gotta agree with the rest of the comments, the theme fits this genre perfectly! And the art… ohhh, it’s absolutely spot on for this kind of game. 🎨🔥

Congrats to the whole team, man! Superb job! 👏

Great game!  The 'Papers, Please' format works perfectly for this concept, and I like how you interpreted the theme here as people's opportunity for a good afterlife etc after death according to their religion.  The graphics look amazing, and the music / sound effects are very well done.  My only complaints are that for the browser mode having to close the person's papers with escape keeps making me leave the full screen mode so I end up just leaving it open until I make my decision.  I also feel like either a limit to the number of rules, or at least a scroll bar would be nice since I ended up having some rules go off the page and they were difficult to read.  But overall I thought this was a really good game, great job!

The art and sound in this game is amazing! Kudos to the team!
The gameplay feels very smooth and seamless, but I feel like it lacked a bit of feedback for if something was correct or incorrect. I was a bit overwhelmed by how many different combinations there were, but it didn't sour my play experience too much. Maybe it would have been easier to understand if there were a handful of rules on the first day that gradually expanded as the game progressed.
Overall I really enjoyed this game! Very impressive for the 5 day time limit
