Love it! I was hooked by the memes and wanted to see if the game was more than just memes, then found myself playing a very fun game with a very funny, likeable character, great art, and great music. Great game!

Cool game! Love the art style, and the concept is very interesting. I'm also liking the story so far, the ghost is pretty cool and I like all of their lines, so mysterious, and I'm really into the cult vibes I was getting from it. I like the characters as well, they've got fun personalities that makes the game really enjoyable. I've got not issues I can think of, well done!
Great game! The art is really nice, I love the style. The concept is also really neat and interesting, and I really like the ending. The music really sets the tone of the story as well. I do feel like some of the transitions could have been a bit quicker, but overall it was all really good, great job!
Great game! I like the art, and the sound effect for the enemy chasing you is creepy! I also really like the game mechanic where you actually have to die in order to figure some things out so you can succeed in your next playthrough. Did run into a bug where running wouldn't last and I'd start walking again randomly, unless that's supposed to be me losing stanima? Overall, nice game, well done!
Nice game! The art was great, and the music was pretty cool. I like how you did the environment with the dark clouds, it felt like a void that despite actually being a small platformer, I could imagine going on forever. The wall jump was cool as well, I always enjoy that in a platformer and you did a really good job implementing it!
Loved this game! The art was great, as well as the music. It all felt very complete and polished. Really liked the story too, it was well built up with the character's backstory, and I liked how we slowly got to piece it together as we ventured through the house. It was as nice, bite sized horror story. I've got no complaints, very well done!
Great game! The artwork is incredible, the storybook style is really nice and the whole thing just looks very polished. The concept is cool, and I love how you wrote that intro. The gameplay is fun too, though I couldn't manage to figure out the fourth ending. Did run into a couple bugs, one where after restarting the first day (was trying to see if failing immediately got a different ending) your sister no longer shows up in the first room, and you have to find her in the room she later appears in to have your first interaction with her. Also had a moment where I couldn't move after interacting with the diary. Overall though this was a very well made game, great job!
Great game! I really liked the concept, it follows the theme really well and it's a creative interpretation. The design of the city, traffic lights, and a bunch of cars perfectly driving around are some incredible work given the time constraints. The voice acting was well done and had some great lines, I really enjoyed the humor. I had a couple of bugs, mainly one where the map ended up a bit offset, and I kept flipping the car over at which point it would bug out and keep jumping up into the sky and back down again. I appreciate the restart option though it would have been nice to be able to restart from the beginning of a single mission in the instance of the car getting flipped rather than having to restart from the beginning of the game. Just to avoid that I ended up carrying a severed ass on foot all the way back through the city. Overall though great game, well done!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!
I agree with the note about the music. I had even looked at free music briefly before wrapping up the game, but to be honest I was really lacking on sleep and I couldn't find anything I felt worked well with the game, and since I've noticed in the past that the wrong music kinda hurts the gameplay I just decided not worry about it. Maybe I'll look into finding something or trying to make my own after the jam if I get the time.
The platforming actually changes depending on the value of the souls you get. The higher quality souls that allow you to finish the game faster result in needing to do the longer / harder platforming course, and you get shorter / easier platforming courses for carrying the cheaper souls. I do feel like I probably could have made this a little clearer in the game.
And I agree about the hitbox - the hat really shouldn't be included as something that can get hurt haha, I'll probably fix that after the jam
Funny thing, you're probably the first person to mention the game not being hard enough, you must be really good at bullet hells! What I might do after the jam is combine your input with others, and make the bullets spawn farther away but also go a bit faster. I'd also like to add more platforming variations to make both more difficult and more easy levels.
Thanks for the feedback!
Great game! The story was interesting and used the theme well. I liked how for a while the character's name was ???, and when we found out they were likely a soldier we got "Soldier?" like the game was also just trying to guess how to refer to the character, it was a fun touch. The art was also well done, and I really liked the game mechanics. At first I was starting to think it was just going to be a simple turn based fight where attacking is just a quick animation of me attacking and then that's that. But it was so much more fun and interesting with how you made attacking something where you had to be quick about clicking on a bunch of stuff while also timing it right, with the healing also being something more engaging similar to the Undertale attacking mechanic. I barely survived in the end cus I was so slow haha but I really enjoyed it. To be honest I can't think of anything to note, didn't encounter any bugs and again, I thought the gameplay was solid. Well done!
Great game, really liked the art and how you added a shader to the environment to make the art style feel consistent across the game. The concept is really neat and follows the theme well. I did have some struggles with the doors, as they would often close before I can get through and shove me back where I came from. Overall though I liked it, well done.
Great game! Got a score of 40. Loved the graphics, they were cute and made the whole game feel polished. It felt like playing a WarioWare game but with honestly nicer art. I enjoyed playing, and especially liked the part where you light the candle and her face shows up haha. Of course some more minigames would be nice, but given time constraints you did a great job getting in as much as there is. Overall, incredible work.
Great game! I really liked the art, the water was a cool effect, and the level doors remind me of Kirby games. I managed to get all the stars except for the third to last level- can't figure out how to get under the death max. I like how you did the mechanic though, it was similar to some others I've seen but with a unique twist on it by giving you options of bodies that do different things to help navigate the levels. I really enjoyed the puzzles, they were all clever and it felt good solving them. I do think it would have been nice to have something in the level that tells me my target death max from the get go, there was one level I spent a while trying to figure out how to keep it at 2 max, before just giving up and then finding out that the max was upped to 4 the whole time. Also had a bug where dropping the skeleton in a one unit wide spike hole caused it to glitch into the floor. Overall though, really good game.
Amazing game! I really enjoyed the graphics, and the atmosphere was done really well. The darkness combined with the soft music and the stone and bones everywhere really sold the grim feeling of the cultist's lair. I liked the part close to the end of the first level where there's a ton of cultists above you and their footsteps get louder, don't know how to describe it but it felt cool. I also really liked the concept, it follows the the theme well. I've seen similar mechanics used before but for some reason I don't remember them ever putting a limit on the amount of bodies you can have at once, which in your case really helps with the puzzle solving and making you think carefully about how you are going to use the mechanic. Speaking of, I enjoyed the puzzle close to the end of the first level, it really made you use your head and take into account what you were seeing, though it took a bit for me to get the solution to work. My only disappointment is that I could pray to all those statues except the Lixian statue. Such a pity. Also I ran into a bug where I briefly had a twin after both the cultist and myself killed me at the same time. Overall, really good game, excellent job!
Great game. The graphics are nice, and I like the concept. Using the bodies of your previous vehicles feels like one of the more creative / unique takes on the theme in the game jam. A bullet hell with car mechanics was also a neat idea, although I definitely kinda sucked at it so the arena ended up filled with my corpses. Main problems I ran into was that the gun doesn't quite track the cursor that well (which doesn't show on the game, but when I use the windows key to make the mouse show up on the game, the gun starts tracking it just fine, but of course then I can't control anything else in the game), also had an issue in the end where the text trailed off the end of the screen and I couldn't read it. Other than that though I liked the game, great job!
Nice game, not a lot there but I thought the character model was really well made! Did a good job on the run animation, and I like how quick the movement felt. The cursor didn't show up on the screen which made it difficult to make a choice with the bed, but I was able to exit full screen and make it show up long enough to make a selection.
Great game, you did a good job on the models, I especially liked the one for Bevy's ghost. The art for the main menu was also really cool, and the voice acting was really well done. Great music too, it really set the detective vibe. I also like the concept and how you used the theme of the game jam. The jacksepticye references were also fun. The mystery was intriguing, although a bit tedious with the interactions, it took a bit sometimes to manage to pick up an item. I also feel like some sort of timer would possibly also have been nice to have - if I understood correctly there was the exclamation to help warn you, though sometimes it seemed to happen a second before I died, and other times it gave me a lot of time. Maybe some sort of "skip ahead" option as well so I don't have to repeat so much stuff to return to where I was. Overall though I liked the game, well done!
Absolutely loved this game. The art was really good, it was cute and simplistic but didn't take away from the seriousness of the horror vibes. The creature designs were really cool, and I especially loved their sound design. The breathing sounds coming from them as I get closer, especially when I'm in the dark and can't see them, and then when they are running after you and their breathing turns quicker and more excited. I know you mention in the game credits that the audio wasn't yours, but you still did a really good job of selecting them. Despite the cartoon graphics I was actually a bit scared trekking through the forest, and even got jumpscared once by one of the enemies and got killed before I could regain composure and aim. I know you also mention you didn't get to do everything you wanted, but I still thought your use of the theme was really interesting. The "select an upgrade" thing is done by a lot of games, but the way you had it where it comes from getting killed by an enemy is neat, because there's the caveat of getting sent back to camp while also getting the chance to upgrade stuff, so there's some strategy to deciding whether to kill the enemies because you don't have the time to have to walk all the way back, or take the set back in order to have an easier time collecting stuff. The only issue I ran into was a bug at one point where, after getting killed and doing my upgrade, some wood remained in my inventory and I could not longer feed the fire even with more wood collected. Overall though this was a great game, one of my favorites in the game jam. Well done!
Thanks for playing, glad you liked it! The difficulty of the platforming depends on the quality of souls you collect, if you only collect cheap souls you get some easier courses (I did include two variations of the courses that can randomly be selected for the cheaper souls) and then there's a course for souls that are a little more valuable, and the hardest one shows up for the most expensive souls. I agree that I could have made the souls spawn a bit further away, and yeah it would have made more sense to swap those damage levels. My thought was that since you have to respawn at an earlier platform and lose progress, keeping the damage lower made it not as detrimental, but I agree that it makes sense to make falling more detrimental. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks, glad you liked it! Yeah it probably would have been a good idea to make you not get attacked without collecting any souls, might just have to be an update after the game jam's over. And yup, it looked better when I was working with a different screen ratio, saw they overlapped after realizing I needed to go with a different ratio, but I was running out of time and didn't get around to fixing it. And nope, that was not intentional, that was something added last minute and I didn't realize I'd set the z position wrong. I guess we'll just have to pretend the villager is holding the pumpkin or something haha.
Thanks! Yeah there were a couple of spots where I made it just barely possible to reach, it was even worse at one point and I had to bring more of them closer together haha. Once all of your souls are spoiled though it should start giving you easier platforming courses so you can dump them on the reaper, then if you just collect the cheap souls it should continue giving you easier platforms.
