It’s a story like Beauty and the Beast but with deeper themes—I loved it. The art is beautiful, the menu is gorgeous, and the story moved me.
This was an amazing game! I love the art style, I got genuinely attached to Atlas and Iris' relationship, it's beautifully written. I found the puzzle minigame to be a really creative way to show their relationship. I was most surprised by how the bad ending was written, it completely subverted what I thought it was going to be. Only problem I had was that the puzzle game during the bad ending kept getting error (tried reinstalling game after deleting data in RenPy folder on my PC but issue still happened), but just pressing the ignore button twice let me see ending 3 still. Genuinely would love to see what yall could do again.
Not what I expected! Great presentation and a story about love and acceptance that I found very moving.
I can't believe this was made a month, it's phenomenal. The art, the music, the story. I loved how the music intensified in certain scenes, it all just flowed so well together.
Wowee!! I finished my playthrough right before MisterShins's stream, and am absolutely blown away. What an incredible amount of work you've put into this - I can't imagine drawing so many CGs!! And they all look gorgeous too, yourglowing rimlighting and blocks of painted textures create such a great vibe, which pairs wonderfully with the music and bittersweet writing. Very evocative all around, with just the right amount of creepy running through it all . . . well done, and bg congrats to the whole team on a great entry!! I'll absolutely be exploring more endings in the future.
Love playing this game, it was a super sweet story. I just wish we got more time with the character's so we can get more of a feeling of their relationship pre-transformation be it flashbacks or seeing the photos of that time.
love love love everything about it! the art, plot, characters were done so well. you can tell how much care went into making the game. i wouldn't mind if the creators did a more elaborate storyline with this game.
Peak title menu. And 65 CGs?! For real? How did your artist do this? And everything is beautiful. Very incredible. I like the story a lot. Would you still love me if I were an - ahh moment, and I think her reactions are all valid. Very interesting and enjoyable.
Was immediately surprised by the moving menu screen. Then wide-eyed at all the stunning visuals! Everything about this game is wonderful, even the UI. I really like how the minigame gets easier the more kind choices the player makes. Amazing work to everyone on the team!
No notes from me--keep up the good work!!
Well... I did think that the beast is better as beast than the prince, so I'd call him my hubby.
Love both Atlas and Iris! Wish there is a longer story for them both!
I was taken aback as early as the main menu screen. The game is just really beautiful, whether it’s the menus, the textbox, or the art itself (there’s even some perspective, I could never).
Really appreciated the story too, and it has its scary moments (no spoil). I’m not a music guy so all I can say is that I enjoyed it too.
I got ending 2 first, then ending 3 (this broke my heart) and was pleasantly surprised when I realized that the puzzle got was substantially easier/shorter the more good choices you made (even if you don’t make enough of them to get ending 1 (I missed it by 1 choice I think, the first time I went for it)).
My only criticism really is that the texture in the Help and Settings menus can make it a bit hard to read the text (not as much of a problem in Credits due to the text being bigger). And also, I wish there was a setting to adjust the textbox opacity. Because it’s completely opaque, you can’t really appreciate the whole art (unless you know the Hide shortcut 😉).
I hope to make a game as good one day 💪🏽
Atlas for Best Beastie. ✨
The volume and quality of the artwork in this is really absolutely mind-blowing! So beautifully designed and conceived, it has the feeling of a 1990's Henry Selick film: whimsical, enjoyably spooky, tense, and fantastical. A very enjoyable play!
I need some time to give a more longform comment but oh my god. the visual direction alone had me hooked- the composer was Phenomenal. NEED to replay.
AWAWAWAWAWA YOURE SO KIND!! 9999inventoryFULL went INSANE with it. Her musical direction is AMAZING.
Oh, wow! This is super amazing!!! :0
So much to love about this!!
1: THE ART! Holy moly, this art is SO WELL MADE, every sprite is a painting, it's FILLED with beautiful cgs, the animated cover is WONDERFUL, the tired lady has so much character to her, all in all, it's just, IT'S GREAT!
2: The Story! There was a lot of clever branching and choices that felt like they had meaning, I played through and got Ending 3, (because I'm a jerk), and the cg colors matching the tone of the writing is amazing! (red as a primary when angry, blue as a primary when frightened), the painting style is just absolute peak! :sob:
3: The UI and interactivity! The UI is beautiful, the text font is wonderful, there are some cool rich text effects, the only critque I have here is that, while the puzzle mini-game looks wonderful, and works symbolically really nice, HOLY FRICK IT DOES NOT WORK! I TRIED FOR SO LONG, AND I GOT 1 PIECE! I FIT IT EXACTLY, IDK IF THERE'S AN ORDER OR SOMETHING, BUT THAT AIN'T RIGHT!!! >:c
Eventually, I was super relieved to find that you could skip it via the space key, and though I wish it would say that sooner, the fact that it has a failsafe like that in the first place is an AMAZING feature!
Overall, while not my cup of tea personally, this game knows what it wants to be and is GREAT AT BEING IT! I'd say it's criminally underrated, and please give your artist several raises instantly.
Have a good day m8, good luck with judgin'! :D
BWAHAHAHAA IM GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT!! I’ll make sure my artist gets the break!! The puzzle is easier in the nicer routes but I’ll make note of the difficulty for my programmers!!
thank you so much!! Your words mean a lot!!
OHHH, THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!! :0
MASTEEFUL STORYTELLING IM TELLONG YA
If you’re using a tablet or something similar instead of a mouse for the puzzle, this might be part of why it felt hard. My tablet really dislikes drag and drop mini games unless I disable Windows Ink. I always started with the face, it made it easier in my experience
