PHENOMENAL CHEFS KISS. OH MY GOODNESS. THIS GAME HAS BEEN ON MY TO PLAY LIST SINCE THE DIRECTOR SHARED THE PREMISE WITH ME BACK IN DECEMBER. THIS WAS PHENOMENAL AMAZING AND OHHHAH AUHAUHUHUGHUGUH IM STILL REELING FROM NEMO. 

THE VOICE ACTING AND SOUNDEFFECTS WERE PEAK. THE SPRITE ANIMATIONS AND AMBIENCE? STELLAR. OAUUAHGUHGUHUHG NEMO!!!!! NEMO!!! CALL ME!!!!!!  I'M FREE TONIGHT FOR YOU.

I genuinely really enjoyed this game. It has everything. Every part you look is going to be phenomenally polished. I heard that there was apparently a bug in it but I couldn't seem to replicate it on my own save- but this entire game play was just. ALL that i could ask for and more. And on top of that! It has the Butterfly Rocket TM uniqueness, blending magical realism with witty modern dialogue alongside stunning graphics, cinematography, and UI to make for a perfect and splendid experience that is well worth another playthrough to fully soak into Other Spheres. The direction here is truly something to behold, from opening scene to closing credits.

Every character we get introduced to: Channary, Umibozo, and Nemo, all have their own unique voices, unique flavors of character, and unique feelings they invoke in the reader. 

Channary felt like sweet maple donuts, fresh from the oven of a bygone era. She's gone to the moon and we won't be able to follow her. She's got her purpose and she's finding her destiny; yet she stays rooted in our past, memories of a distant time-- maybe even a better time depending on how you view Nemo and Umibozo. She's a beloved friend, one that you want back, and every shot of her is basked in this warmness, this softness. 

(During MisterShins' stream, the chat noticed that in the ambience of her scene, that there's people talking, laughing, clattering things around... living their best life. Rarely does Butterfly Rocket Studios make unintentional choices and even in the sound design, it reflects how genuinely nostalgic Channary is. She's the moon, always out of reach, but always present with us)

Umibozo directly ties to this sense of destiny that Channary brings up. To her, the moon is her other self. She has to go out and chase after it- but what about Callisto? They love the ocean- so much that they initially choose it instead of following Channary to space. Except the Ocean, the depths... isn't a tangible object. It isn't something that can be contained in a box and when Umibozo catches wind of Callisto's stubborn existence, they offer to free Callisto from the shackles of society, offering true freedom, true authority, free from nagging. Umibozo is the bottomless bucket of dreams, of curiosity... and through Umibozo, the author asks us if we'd be willing to destroy our safety nets, our shackles to the past and present, and truly be free in a gamble for true euphoria, true satisfaction.

And my Imaginary Husband- I mean Bad Robot- I mean, Nemo. He's programmed to be our caretaker and therapist, overseeing the bulk of ship duties as well as be Callisto's personal alarm. He's snarky, he's pompous, he's... precocious ;) and while talking to him, we learn that he has his own vast emotions that he manages. He, our caretaker and roots, the only home Callisto can tangibly return to, has fallen in love with the player. He adores us even behind all of his threats of martyrdom and hatred for Callisto. And he's willing to tank "becoming a smart toaster" or whatever other hypothetical fates awaited him upon returning to the surface... just to ensure Callisto lived.

Do you long for what you once had, embracing the safety and security of the past even if there's no guarantee those feelings will ever fully return? 

Reach out and escape to the unknown to meet your destiny, your passion, your future, in its (or rather their) domain rather than stay unknowing of what could've been? 

Or do you accept the familiarity of the present, of shelter, of home, of a safety net, even if it's cynical and mean at times, because at the end of the day, home knows you best?

NOW UH... that was a lot of words. I hope you enjoyed my thoughts just as much as I enjoyed your game, Butterfly Rocket Studios. Know I eagerly await what comes next. In the mean time, I... should go get the gallery complete BUT man, I can't take my eyes off of Nemo! I'm off to go frolic with my bad robot boyfriend again. Sorry, Umi and Channary, I need to know what M!Callisto sounds like when I'm with Nemo.

I REALLY want to try and complete the full gallery but MAN i can't take my eyes off of Nemo. I'm off to go frolic with my bad robot boyfriend again. Sorry, Umi and Channary, I need to know what M!Callisto sounds like when I'm with Nemo. 

VERY fun game!! I was NOT expecting it to be as long nor as advanced as it was!! The branching paths were REALLY cool and definitely a lot of fun seeing everything come together. The art is AMAZING!!! (heads up, I did catch some missing sprites during the ballroom scene if you say she's sad)

The writing is very succinct and enjoyable. Definitely a well paced game and like others, I definitely want to keep exploring to see what other endings there are. Congrats on making your first game; this is amazing and very ambitious!!

thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it (especially the minigame!!). We all had a lot of fun discussing how to make Aina and Lyric's banter so iconic and rest assured, the banter continues amid different characters alongside more minigames and features!!

Same goes to you though with the praise on the complete story! The team and I loved Dirk the Dictionary- definitely top tier humor and scripting on your end!

That was REALLY fun. I've been seeing you around in DevTalk and I'm REALLY glad I got a chance to play around with Dirk the Dictionary!! The expressions really elevated the experience and the banter was superb!! amazing work!! (No one let Dirk the Dictionary into my documents though... for everyone's sakes.)

AMAZING FUN!! The sprite animations here are INCREDIBLE even as it's in development. You can tell each and every scene has its own polish applied to it to ensure that it's the highest grade it can be when it leaves the programming stage. I loved the atmosphere of every scene and Anh 1000/10 should call me. Please. I'll go exploring in the woods with him. He can tutor me. PLEASE.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH??? I saw the description and was immediately piqued as a fellow HNK enjoyer. Land of the Lustrous changed my entire writing style frfr and I love this thought analysis of the work and of how you reflected on your life with it. 

You had me for a moment with the "Human weApons" statement but wow that was definitely something so in depth and delightful to read. 

as always, swanchime games have this perfectly retro and nostalgic way of making me feel when i encounter them.

WE LOVE YOU NOVA!!! WE'RE GONNA GO SUPERNOVA OVER YOU NOVA!! I love this! It's short and sweet with Nova really taking the spotlight with the 3D models and voice acting!! definitely worth a play as with all of Taylor's work!!

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH finally got to play the game!! I uh... love the quick menu. Definitely made me laugh when I was trying to save LOL. 

I said this in the review but it needs to be said again: AMAZING usage of cinematography. From Carlos in the grocery store to Carina's constant movement- to even the water rushing scenes. That was PERFECTION!!! 

This entire game was a stellar experience and an incredible debut game from both Siri and Reese and I genuinely could not believe this was their first game just from the raw technical skill it took to make every aspect of it. These two did NOT cut corners in the slightest and it SHOWS with how incredible each part is.

Definitely was NOT expecting to see Sincerely Me or Candy Store mentioned but it was a welcome surprise nonethe less!!

Carlos and Corvo are ABSOLUTELY babygirl material. Hands down. I want tee shirts of them now.  NEOW!!! 

I look forward to the future installments because this one DEFINITELY was a note for success in my book!! Great work you two!! You're amazing!! Best of luck and all good vibes in game design!!

The storytelling was easy to get immersed into and I absolutely adore the way you all handled the time loop idea of keeping the main character aware of the initial failure. I definitely wanna play the other routes to find out more on Andre's deal but MAN Liam the king that you are.

The audio work was incredible and I'm glad MisterShins noted that it was french because otherwise I'd have no idea!

AWAWAWWAWA I'm still wiping my tears and weeping as I'm writing this. I'm such a sap for this sort of narrative. You did amazing work with the story, UI, and artwork. The Sunflower Field and Beach Scene are absolutely breathtaking! Amazing work!!

I loved seeing the way the narrative shift and change as more was unraveled. This story was so sweet and the artwork was BEAUTIFUL and PHENOMENAL.

What gave you the idea for this story? And did you pace yourself to get this done? I know you got it done SO early into spooktober that I originally thought it was only for the Yaoi Game Jam and not both!!

Out of curiosity, are the endings that are provided the finished endings or are there more to be planned for them?

Loving the idea!! It's a really fun game and I definitely wanna see more of it!! The music was so fun and the backgrounds were BEAUTIFUL!! I loved the differences in sprites and usage of voice barks!! 

I did also encounter the same glitch lislorlandl mentioned where I spoke with Mister Wadsworth and it wouldn't let me progress past his dialogue loop? I'm not sure if that was intentional!

Fun concept and I'd love to see it expanded more upon in the future!
