Absolutely stellar, well-crafted, and hypnotic! This is such a tidy, well-plotted package: short but impactful, pared-down artwork that still packs a punch, sound design that eschews  music to favor atmosphere and narrative points, limited voice acting that underlines and emphasizes the nature of oral folktales: everything fits very neatly together to create an impressive and cohesive story. The way folklore adapts, adopts, and embellishes upon the (at times very disparate!) belief systems of regional cultures is a subject I find endlessly, endlessly interesting, and this is the rare example that both cites the original sources and acknowledges how much has been co-opted and borrowed over the years--while also suggesting a reckoning for those who are dismissive of the founding belief systems their urban legends and fairytales are constructed upon. Brilliant work, and all the more so with such a small team! Definitely will be following for more creations in the future! ✨

Nice! Like I said, even though I wanted to be able to save, though, I think being unable to do so really drove home the stakes and consequences of each choice, so I didn't intend it as a real complaint. ❤️ All around terrific work by the whole team--it's a lovely and unique game!

Reminds me of the best literary representations of pagan worship and belief systems:  screaming with a sense of difference and alternate morality, compelling and unknowable in a way that feels both alarming and tactile. Engrossing, fun, and a challenging playthrough: absolutely hate the lack of options when it comes to saving, but by gum, it's also a choice I fully respect at the same time. Every path has a consequence, after all. ✨

Ooo, this was such a well-crafted and thoughtful game! Absolutely adored the warm and textured artwork, from the expressive characters to the storybook backgrounds, and the beautiful UI. The minor animations helped keep things feeling alive, especially alongside the terrific music and sound design. In terms of the story, I was particularly impressed by how generally heavy themes were addressed with an empathetic touch, neither over- nor downplaying the emotional weight and trauma the two siblings feel. Fantastic work to the entire team! ❤️

Be still my Xennial heart, this was the Daria-flavored world of my dreams! I absolutely adore the self-constructed high school clique inflicted "forbidden love", the messy friendships, the hints at a more supernaturally-influenced world than our own, and our Queen Bee popular main character being named Heather, of all things. ❤️ And all of that is just a sidebar to the absolutely mind-blowing artwork: the choice to use speech bubbles instead of a textbox, the animations for blinking, speaking, different zoom levels, shifting expressions and outfits--on top of the variety of textures and continuously animated backgrounds!--nothing about this feels like a jam game, and it is mind-boggling that this is the work of a solo dev. ✨ Thank you for the introduction to your incredible world--I definitely hope you continue to build on it!!

Been saving this one up as a treat for myself, and good golly the sprites are absolutely stunning! I love the watercolor element, the movement, and the expressiveness for each of the characters--beautifully done! This artwork overall has a lot of movement, grace, and polish, and the main menu is an absolute visual feast!

(...I unfortunately did get stuck in a repeated loop with the tea scene?? But watched my partner play the rest through, and it is a lot of fun--great job!)

Gorgeous, unsettling, and surreal, this is an atmospheric fever dream from start to finish! Incredibly impressed by the thoughtfulness of the visuals and sound design: the combination of the more abstract illustrations with the more detailed UI sprites was brilliant, and felt perfectly tied together by the pared-back color palette. The music is pervasive in setting the mood while never being intrusive. I also loved how the story never over-explained its setting: the questions I had that went unanswered only served to add more to the swirl of anxiety and uncertainty of the piece. Phenomenal work! ✨

This is so delightful! Super impressive how much you accomplished in just a month's time, and I really appreciated how much this entry reminds you this is a game jam, rather than just a novel with visuals. Amazing character design, an engaging story, and a terrific soundtrack.

A slick and stylish noir entry! Love the unreliable narrator/detective, and as a Chandler aficionado, I found the story to be a sleek and moody homage that hits all the exact right notes. LOVE the visual transitions and abstract artwork: everything feels like it fits into Charles' fluctuating state of mind, shifting the ground beneath the player even as we're seeking answers. A phenomenal game--well done to the whole team! ✨

The moody and expressive artwork, the surreal storyline, and the moody soundtrack all work together beautifully. Terrific work to the whole team! ✨
