What a wonderful little puzzle of luck! The atmosphere is immaculate, and the mechanics click together nicely. I was thoroughly engaged!

I think it could've done with a couple of smaller board choices, to help ease players into the logic of filling the board correctly. A couple of outright tips might also be warranted (like the fact that colors can never exist in a 2x2 square, or that directing dashes and solids into the same square is an instant lockout).

Fantastic! Great work!

[EDIT 2025-10-06]: Struck out incorrect information. Colors can exist in squares and rectangles if all tiles connect to each other with lines.

Congrats on beating it!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, and I think you’re right that a smaller board or more indications of immediate loss could help new players learn quicker, thanks for the feedback! There’s definitely a way to give players help and still maintain that old-school learn-as-you-play style.

Oops; I realized I wrote incorrect information in my original comment. For some reason, I missed the fact that (logically) colors can exist in rectangular patterns as long as all tiles connect to each other with lines. I apologize for the misinformation!

I'll agree the concave/convex wasn't immediately clear. Perhaps additional markings could help. Other than that, it's a very pretty, if sometimes frustrating experience.

Thanks for playing!

I like that the simpleness of the game was contrasted with the horror-vibes that the music was giving off.  I was not able to beat the game, but it reminds me of the board game Quatro

Thanks for playing! I gotta check Quatro out!

Very cool!Clever unique idea, and the aesthetics are really excellent - sets such a neat and cohesive vibe, the music and dialog and graphics were my favorite parts, well done!

I got pretty far but I'm still not 100% sure why some tiles match and some don't - I think it's the convex vs concave thing I'm missing, but I'm also sure that's just a 'me' problem.

Really good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the comment, I worked hard on the aesthetics so I appreciate it! Yeah, I tried a few different ways to explain the concave/convex matching, it'll never be perfectly explained on the first go.

Hui… it took me a little while, but then it clicked. The game reminds me of a kind of solitaire. Nice game.

This was good on my third playthrough, I didn'tquite understand the convex and concave aspect at first but then it clicked. pretty cool game and the lightning was a nice touch

it took me a while to get the grasp of it, and while I have not won yet, it was a very nice brain teaser that I happily put some time in.

Thanks for playing! It does take some solid strategy (and a little luck) to win. Maybe making it more approachable could help it appeal to a wider audience, but at the same time I enjoy the difficulty I made it.

I tried it again after reading the instructions and it's a very interesting game. This is the kind of game that would really benefit from a tutorial, but for a game jam, having the instructions on the page is fine.

Very well polished presentation and solid mechanics, congrats!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I definitely agree that a tutorial would help a lot, even if I’m going for a “learn-as-you-play” vibe.

Really quite an impressive package!  An original card solitaire card game with awesome presentation.  Love the extra polish, like the lightning revealing the faces of the participants, the dealer getting snippy if you try to place incorrectly, and unique cards having their own tarot-esque names.  Everything helps to re-enforce the fortune teller aesthetic.  I wish I could say I got a win, but I was one card away!  I think I better understand the strategy though, will be back to secure victory!

Well done!
