Congrats on beating it!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, and I think you’re right that a smaller board or more indications of immediate loss could help new players learn quicker, thanks for the feedback! There’s definitely a way to give players help and still maintain that old-school learn-as-you-play style.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! I gotta check Quatro out!

Thanks for playing and the comment, I worked hard on the aesthetics so I appreciate it! Yeah, I tried a few different ways to explain the concave/convex matching, it'll never be perfectly explained on the first go.

Thanks for playing!

It might just be a trick of the eye fooling me lol

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! It does take some solid strategy (and a little luck) to win. Maybe making it more approachable could help it appeal to a wider audience, but at the same time I enjoy the difficulty I made it.

Thank you for playing! I definitely agree that a tutorial would help a lot, even if I’m going for a “learn-as-you-play” vibe.

Thanks for playing, I appreciate it!

Quite fun! I enjoyed finding out all the bonus combinations to score, and that you could save up your bumps over time. 11 rounds seems pretty good, but I'm sure people can do better!

I enjoyed the different experience that you brought to this game! I wasn't prepared for the emotions that came with the story, so props to you. When people talk, I think technically you have 5 colors on screen since the names are a dark green, but that's a small thing and it doesn't change the game at all. Nice work!

I enjoyed the graphics and music/sfx, it really captured the retro vibe. The four-colors rule was accomplished very successfully and never felt like a burden! I wish there was more of it to play, though I understand that game jams can make that difficult. I also think the platforming at the end could've been a bit clearer, though I did end up figuring it out, so perhaps a bit of trial and error was intended. Overall great vibes!

I’m glad I tried my hand at two mini games in one, but I agree that one polished game tends to end up feeling better to play. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing, I agree the instructions being clearer was the main thing I would’ve done differently. Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for playing!

Thank you for playing and the thought-out review, I appreciate the feedback! I originally was only going to make the Hanging Gardens, but I thought about the Tower of Babel and I never pass up an opportunity to make a word puzzle game!

The crickets in Hanging Gardens were originally more predictable but you're right that the double jump was a bug that appeared when I tried to make them more exciting. I left it in, but I probably should've revamped them to make them more predictable and fair to reduce artificial difficulty.

For Tower of Babel, you can quickly quit a level by pressing escape (or the "Start button" equivalent), but I realize I didn't state that anywhere in game so that's on me.

As for the joystick bug, I wish I had controllers to test it with to catch this sort of thing. Thanks again for playing!

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed my music, it was really fun to make!

Thanks for playing, glad you appreciate the art and music! The Tower of Babel game could have clearer instructions but as long as all the words become identical, you win the level, so there’s no single word to go for.

Thank you! I agree the Hanging Gardens does have a bit of artificial difficulty because of the physics, something I’d probably refine in future games

Thanks for playing! I’m more into puzzles than platformers so I figured the gardens game might be a little jank :) Glad you enjoyed the music!

Thanks for playing, I knew when I went for NES vibes that it might end up meaning less clarity about what to do in-game, so that’s on me. I’m glad you enjoyed the music, I liked making it!

Thanks for playing, I appreciate it! Word puzzles are my passion haha

Any path to the solution works, thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! The controls are listed in the description, there’s multiple ways:

WASD, J and K

Arrow keys, X and Z

Spacebar also acts as an “A button”

Controller is supported too. Thanks again!

Thanks for playing, I agree that having suggestions if you get stuck on a word would be helpful but I didn’t implement it yet because the algorithms might’ve taken a while.

Thanks for playing!

Fair point, the rules could have been explained better, thanks for playing!

I really enjoyed playing this game! Lots of fun with seeing how many different combinations there are!

Thanks for playing!

Yeah, I toyed around with having a CPU player or even just a hint button, but both would’ve been more complexity than I wanted to deal with at the moment. Maybe if I update the game in the future. Thanks for playing!

Yeah, adding a way to remove the timer makes a nice zen mode to get you thinking without all the pressure!

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for giving it a try, I know word games aren’t for everyone!

Thanks so much! I hoped this game would be something people could play at party games and just to pass the time with friends and family, so I’m really happy you feel the same!

Thank you! I’ve wanted to make a word game so this felt like a great opportunity for it.

- An undo button would be a great QOL thing to add for a future update, great idea

- I also agree that I found the notes to sometimes sound a bit repetitive, especially when moving in the same direction multiple times in a row. With the time I had I couldn’t think of how to make this better than by adding various slightly different sounding versions of the notes which helped a bit I think but still not perfect

- For the bug, I would love to know what level and any details you can recall if you wanted to share them so I could investigate further!

- Again, you touch upon another QOL thing I noticed myself when testing, maybe an animated instruction panel or arrows to indicate the direction could be helpful.

Thanks for playing all the way through and the great feedback!

Thanks for playing! Combining the puzzles with the “puzzle” of figuring out the mechanics and controls is something I had a blast with! In the future I might make a level select so people can continue where they leave off, and perhaps additional levels too!

I appreciate it!

Thanks so much!
