Really neat tactics game, I like how the Skremplet order can affect the others in the party, enjoyed managing that. The tug of war system is pretty cool, I liked collecting the cards to buff each party. It was cool that on Grymmt's island the trash collecting changes to racing Grymmt to collect the most apples. Cute sprites, and I love every time Giant Foozloo would tell Boyhowdy to shoo lol

Really cool game, love the presentation. The tug-of-war screen is definitely a highlight. Also really appreciate being able to choose the order in which to do the islands. Very nice work!

Cute character sprites, great use of facts and the tug of war mechanic was a neat idea!

Wow this is a really cool idea for a game! Seriously, a really cool idea! I’m a huge fan of tactics game so I was really happy seeing this. If you were to make this into a full game, I’d be there day one!!!

It makes me very happy, that a lot of you see potential in this game.I have never worked on a tatics game before. So there was a lot of trail and error in the process.  I am still trying to figure out, how the opponnents ai could have worked out more smoothly.

A tactics game!?!Your game stood out to me because of the UI. Your game design matched the kind of gameplay I'd expect with a tactics game. It took a bit to figure out how to work everything, but then it was smooth sailing. I could see this as a fuller game with more polish.

Thx.
Please take a look a the itch.io page for the UI art: Magical UI Set by Gowl

There were alot of loose ends the day of the submission. In particular, I would have liked to see the game mechanics explained more clearly. But I am happy the game is playable at all.

Really enjoyed this one. Its scratched that tactics itch for me big time. This is one of those I feel like could be polished and added to then thrown on steam as a full length non skremplets game.

Wow, thank you. It is really nice to hear, that someone sees potential in the game/game-idea. At least that's what should come out of a game jam, right?

Mixing a tactics game with an autobattler is a cool idea! While tough to get a handle of the controls and mechanics at first, by the end I started to understand what was going on with the cards and tug of war battles. I would love to see a list of all the abilities and how they interact!

Developer

Thanks a lot.

Good suggestion, I will update the game-page with all the abilities later today.

I have updated the game-page with more info onto the battle-system.

V1.1.1 also adds a "star"-icon in the status-panel to indicate the Skremplets status-focus.

Neat twist on a tactical rpg! Having the battles be tug of war matches was a fun choice. When all the passives and buffs started popping I had no idea what was happening lol.

Developer

Thank you.
I really should have added a tutorial for the auto-battler and and a tutorial how the team-placement and the environment interact with each other.. Perhaps the first battle should have been much slower, so that there is more time to actually  read all the text.

Developer (1 edit)

I replaced v1.01. with V1.1.0.

There was a game-breaking bug, where the player always wins a TOC-battle.

Developer (1 edit)

v1.0.1 was uploaded after the deadline and fixes an issue with the pop-up when deleting or unassigning cards.
