Glad somebody else enjoyed the mouse movement! I thought it felt really cool, but a lot of testers just ended up using the spacebar :p

That's good to hear! We did extensive playtesting to try to make sure people wouldn't get too lost.

Among the most interesting mechanics of the jam imo. The presentation and camera work was also top-notch. One of my favorites this year for sure.

There's some real potential here in how the abilities and level design came together. I legit spent like 5 minutes just messing around with the last section to see all the different things I could do with them.

A delightful little platformer! Discovering the intricacies of the boost mechanic was pretty fun (like how you can boost while standing still). Great to have a boss fight when there are not many this year due to the rule change.

Very cute game, and exactly the right size for the jam. All the little details hidden around the mansion were a treat to find.

I legitimately got a little sad as all the weaving techniques I was getting good at slowly got taken away. Very impressive merging of gameplay and message.

Loved George's physics based animations. Grappling hooks somehow never get old to use. One of my favorite DSD's as well.

Extremely impressive to make a fighting game in this timeframe, regardless of complexity. Even with just what's here there is some space to experiment and find different strategies.

And of course as everyone else has noted, the modelling and win animations are just fantastic.

Really loved the writing in this. All the little details of the characters and how the rumors warped as the spread were great. Went perfectly with Solveig as well. I truly felt like an evil mastermind when I had 3 rumors being spread around at once.

Loved all the messages from the different characters. The platforming collisions were a bit wonky, but the idea and level design were solid. Pretty fun!

Thanks! That's really the best way to play a game like this.

I'm stuck in the Primeval Mask fight. Nothing seems to interact with anything else, in either version of the fight.  Great game so far though!

Due to the nature of the game clear times may vary wildly. If you get stuck or don't understand what something is feel free to ask!

So glad you had such a good time! Fine tuning the ship controls & parameters took a lot of time, but we eventually settled on what we thought was the easiest to grasp.

Thanks! You should try submitting some times to the leaderboards.

Love the simple gameplay that is twisted enough times to keep it interesting. The perfect kind of game jam game.

Very polished experience overall. Great art, combat, and story beats. No DSD is a shame, but a fantastic submission regardless.

Thank you! We really wanted the story section to be as interconnected with the races as possible, to make it all feel cohesive. All credit to blanket Jebb goes to the artist: Handstandish.

Thanks! We worked hard on both sections. The racing has a decent amount of depth to it, so maybe practice in the Track Select a bit before trying again. I'm actually somewhat relieved to know there are players seeing the other endings/dialogue I wrote haha.

We've uploaded a small update that fixes the sabotage not working sometimes and some checkpoint issues in easy mode.

Really tight game. The mech controls are very cool and feel great.

Great concept and execution. Some of the best writing here.

I thought the time rewind didn't do anything at first, but I eventually figured it out. Flying looked & felt really smooth, but it was actually pretty hard to position the ship where I wanted it. Overall quite fun though.

Fantastic art & dialogue. Very engaging the whole way through. Good stuff!

Very, very fun. Flying around is great, and I liked the puzzles that used the throw-teleport mechanic. Dope boss fight too.

Actually insane art.  The vibes were unparalleled.

Really liked the movement , and searching around for secrets. Took me a while but I eventually got to the DSD fight.

If "There are No Giant Robots in the Steel Love universe." right now. Is it OK to have a true "Giant Robot" built within the storyline of the game?

Looks good already! We are actually going through with our grand-prix style racing game idea. Ours is going to be a sort of momentum-based space racer. Interested to see how both ideas play out!

Very impressed by this game. I remember specifically scrapping the idea of making a card game for Mint because it seemed too difficult for the time frame, but y'all killed it.

I also really enjoyed the prompt. I especially appreciated that story and character investment were part of the ratings. I feel that story is often overlooked in jams, and it was super fun to explore the characters and see everyone's interpretations. I actually feel the opposite of Shweep, glad that I changed from my initial instinct to make a Mint game because she ended up being so popular (though I underestimated how popular Alexandria would be haha).

I think it's fair to allow small updates/bug fixes after the deadline, especially when it's issues of content not being able to be seen (like we had). It's also something we can't strictly control anyway, due to how itch handles the game pages. I trust the integrity of this community to not 'cheat' and add content after the deadline.

This was my first game jam done with a team, and I'd highly recommend it if you can find the right people. It helped so much having others to bounce ideas off of, especially with the story stuff. Our game wouldn't have been nearly as polished (or have such great character art) if I did it all alone.

I actually liked this game a lot. Smooth controls, clever 'fights', amazing camera work. Good stuff all around!

Updated to fix some skipped cutscenes, and the DSD exploit.

The stage 9 cutscene skip happens if haver and alexandria die at the same time, so try to avoid that I guess.

I fell out of the boat while the sails were up... Is there any reset or respawn or something?

Top notch presentation. Really sick battle animations & camera work. A shame the battle system isn't more fleshed out, but fun regardless.

Actually such a good take on Executive Cobra. Very clever & funny!

It's truly a good thing you included those cheats. I would've given up very early without them. Even with max upgrades the game is still hard, but certainly more enjoyable!

I'm already stuck? All the caves are closed, the dog sailor says something about a key/seagull/palm tree. I've checked all the areas, hit all the palm trees, hooted a bunch, don't see any seagulls. How do I open the caves?
