Game Description
A Kobo-like game with base expansion!
How does your game tie into the theme?
The bases expand over the course of the game. Though, the real fun ended up being in destruction.

I loved this, super satisfying! IIRC there is a bug with
get_vector()with thumbstick inputs and it’s better toget_axis()because it can have some drift, and in this case the shots generally fire a little askew. Had so much fun I just played that way, then a second time remapping to d-pad for no drift. I think my only issue is I couldn’t pause and recofigure the controls. As others noted, growing the base really took a back seat, it would have been cool if destroyed bases left more materials than asteroids, or something similar, but even as-is, this was a real treat.
I like mechanic of destroying other base! That chain "boom" has some juice!
I appreciate how you managed to make so minimalistic art but enough to have fun, this kind of retro style make game more shine
To improve probably could make some more obvious how expanding your base, event just some popup with information that you must to gain more resources by attacking other base. From experience ppl rather are not patient to read and understand text instructions :D
That concept is great, because mechanic of gathering resources has a lot of possibilities.
Great you did take care of adding extra text to explain game, that still helps ppl who want to put more time to understand the concept
Good job and congratulations on your submission!
I like how the invulnerable walls led to a sort of Star Wars Death Star trench run feeling as I aimed shots into the gaps between them. I agree that the destruction was the real run, but it was also cool to see the stations grow close enough to each other to start fighting!
This guy gets it.
Thanks for playing!
I had to play through twice to figure out exactly what was up. Blowing up was definitely the most satisfying part. I loved the visual effect when they split. I almost wanted just a game with that where you are trying to blow things up to create larger and larger effect circles.
Probably hard to do in the timeline, but I found the tutorial text in the beginning a little overwhelming all at once. I wonder if you could stagger the information out more so one part is given, then experience it. I think I expanded my base a few times, but didn’t really see an indication of that beyond the potential number, but then it went back down to 0 later on? I still had fun flying around. Inspired me to try and make a space game sometime!
I definitely agree. I was too lazy to split this out into levels to introduce things one-at-a-time. Then I saw the "Single Location" wildcard and thought, "nice save!"
The UI is pretty bad. All base sizes are shown at the top of the screen, so the expansion potential goes down as your base size goes up.
Glad you still had fun and definitely drop me a link if you make a space game! I enjoy these :-)
This was fun! I also ignored the expansion and just focused on blowing stuff up, I enjoyed starting the final run towards the core once the defenses were softened up, then boosting out as it exploded (I think the explosion was harmless but I liked imagining I was outrunning it!). Nicely done!
Oooh, I like this one! I can see kobo inspiration but it also reminded me of old Tank 1990 good vibes for some reason. Good sound design, solid idea and it's very satisfying to blow up enemy bases. Managed to finish, had good fun throughout! Well done!
One of the most amazing games I played! really liked the level of polish you had, played the game fully till the end (loved your credits :D). Very nice idea with the friendly nodes giving you resources! Also as another comment mentioned, my expansion stayed at 0, but it was a great experience blowing the stuff up, going back and forth to replenish!
Yep, the theme did inspire the creation of the game, though once I followed the fun, it led to destruction instead. More faithful to the original than I was intending, but it was a classic for a reason.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it!
I love this kind of games. Love the retro style. Good job.
I did not get to expand,my potential stayed at 0 after destroying two bases, maybe I did not get the point, but shooting was fun.
