You mad man, absolute incredible job getting the gameplay nailed down. The level design did leave a lot to be desired though. This should've stayed fully indoors if possible as the environment for the starting and final areas were incredible as they were. Other than that, congrats on your game!
Some more time on the level design would have been well spent.
Very impressive for only a week!
Good work putting this together! It’s not nearly as fluid as it would need to be to be a good soulslike, which only work because of the ridiculous amount of 3Cs work, but it’s a really impressive effort for a week. I had a lot of fun checking it out :)
A really cool game, controls are very fluid and the vibes are just off the charts! At some points the lighting was so dark I couldn't see anything and sometimes some audio clips would play multiple times in a single frame, making them overlap and shattering my eardrums. Still, this is a really impressive game, especially for a 7 day project and overall a really enjoyable experience!
Really impressive to make something like this in a game jam. You guys made a good job. The game needs polish, but the core of a souls like it's in there, congrats!
Ah yes, my favorite defining feature of every Souls game: janky platforming.
But in all seriousness, cool game. Like others have said, it's impressive that you managed to put together a souls inspired game in only a week. My biggest complaint is probably that the boss has some unreactable attacks that either force you to heal or always hold the shield. Also, the player moves really fast which makes it hard to control or move precisely sometimes. But the music is super epic (I wish there was somewhere to listen to it on its own). Overall, good job!
Never played souls-like before. Ty for this game experience
A souls-like in a week is very ambitious and the result is kinda impressive. The combat and movement were a little buggy and need polish, but overall it's a great result expecially given the time limit. Also, I guess you can't jump with the controller?
Thanks for the comment, jump is actually possible with the controller (Y), I noticed it wasn't included in the description
Oh I see, I should have tried it
I think this is a really good clone of Souls, intuitive, hardness ~ reward ratio feels nice. Good job.
downloadable :(
Beat the boss.
The overall level was neat and the boss too. I can appreciate a souls-pit/hole to drop down into.
I'd say some prompts popping up on screen would help a lot (like with interacting or bonfires)
Thanks for the suggestion, prompts are now in the game to interact with items & bonfires
Pretty hard to discern what the controls are, unfortunately.
Thanks for trying our game, we fixed some bugs and added the control scheme in the description
