How does the game fit the theme?
It is a crash game, where you add cookie dough into an oven and risk how long it is kept in for before the oven randomly burns. The longer you wait, the more your score increases.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Fun game.
Damn this was the definition of blind gambling hahaha, thank you for the experience
The bakery has won… The game is enjoyable and captivating despite being rather straightforward. Cool SFX. Maybe some indications of the temperature or some sort of timer would make the experience even more engaging!
Simple and fun! I played it for quite a few minutes trying to figure out the logic behind the oven. Still lost all my dough in the end :)
Really cute game. Would be nice to have a mechanic where you can spend your earnings on 'stuff', so you sort of have a goal to work towards, and the faster you get to it the higher your score, so you want to risk 'betting' more dough. Good job though.
I thought I could game the system by taking humble increments of ~5% each time, but the game does not lie. Eventually the bakery does always win with some quick fires here and there. All-in is never 100% safe. I'm not sure what the optimal portfolio of dough investment/savings would be to hedge against these black swan events, but I'm sure there are at least a dozen experts willing to sell me a book on how to get rich while loafing around my oven.
I think the gameplay probably needs a few more complications in order to really bloom. Perhaps something along the lines of juggling multiple active ovens, giving some visual indicator for how dangerous the current time duration has become, or added friction getting the bread out once its cooked.
The graphics paint a strong picture of our protagonist. Their litter bin is filled to the brim with former cookies turned carbon, but our hero's indomitable spirit perseveres until they make bread or run out of dough. Just like real culinary school!
This is my favourite comment of all time...
We actually did have a version of the game where the player would juggle multiple ovens while maintaining temperature and cookie readiness in each, giving points for more "perfect" cookies...but after a lot of playtesting, could not figure out how to make it fun. We were definitely missing something obvious though, but we settled on a crash game in the end! Thanks so much for your feedback, and for giving the game a try!
fuckass oven keeps buring my cookies
I like the audio and visuals. The gameplay isn't the most enjoyable, but fits the theme.
Thanks for playing, and for the honest feedback! I agree, gambling isn't very fun when its with cookie dough instead of actual money lol :)
A funny and pretty well made little game. I like it.
Stuff is addicting, like I almost get that big multiplier but chicken out too early. Overall, great game.
The art style is cute. And the gameplay bit challenging, like it's unexpected to burn the cookie already. But I enjoy your game with some unpredictable results.
Nice Art :) I´m really bad in gambling :D
Great game! Love the art!
Enjoy it alot. Nice concept !
I'm not the best at math but still had fun with this game lol
I really like the game. The visual and audio are really nice. I also like the concept.
I really love the graphics and its a really interesting gambling concept for a game. simple but fun and interesting. Some thoughts from playing it:
- it wasn't initially clear what to expect and maybe that is part of the experience. Do I wait just 1.03 multiplier? or can I potentially go up to 33x? My first run stopped almost immediately at 1.1 so maybe having an initial range skewed towards higher multipliers in the beginning then adjusting it as the player gets more cookie dough
- I think there was a lost opportunity where the more dough you put the longer you can wait since more cookie dough = longer time to bake so maybe adjusting the multiplier range accordingly to that
- having some incentive for getting more cookie dough, maybe you can buy new cookie dough like with nuts or marshmallows that can change the multiplier.
Overall really fun concept and can do a lot with it. Graphics are amazing and sells the game really well. Congrats on the submission!
Thanks for the feedback! Yes we definitely could have done more with the risk reward aspect and balancing the numbers to make it more engaging for the player. We did think about adding in the concept of chocolate chips to boost score as well! Time unfortunately did get the better of us and we decided to settle on a straight gambling mechanic haha.
Love the graphics. Nice concept
Good job!!
