Few things to feedback:
- somehow the biscuit card go off screen
- maybe make player proceed straight after a battle instead of having the next button?

I adore the entire presentation. Alice's sprite work is great, and wonderfully evokes John Tennil's original illustrations. I feel so bad for her everytime I feed her a biscuit and see her lose her mind as a result.
The Queen of Hearts' design is badass. The background and UI elements are on point.
I don't know if your title / logo / font is an original design or not - but if so, amazing work on it aswell. The way you worked in the ornamented heart design :chef's kiss:

I'm blown away.
The only critisism I can muster is that the balance propably favours offensive actions over defensive ones. With Alice being limited by her dwindeling sanity, I didn't get the feeling I wanted to drag the fight out longer than anyway necessary and that it was best to just rush down the opponent piling on as much damage as possible. I don't think shielding or healing made much of a difference in my run.
All in all, one of the best experiences I had this entire jam.
Fell in love with the art style and the music also mechanic of dragging the card instead of just selecting is unique had fun playing the game
Nice implementation of the jam theme having to balance action and sanity. Love the beautiful art style and amazing audio designs! The voiceover for the narration was also well done, could imagine doing an audiobook :D
Beautiful game, both art and sound.
I did have some issues; the pizelle card didn't work at all for me. I tried on multiple runs and it gave me no shield, but took the sanity (I think it was because I already had some shield, and would have gone over the limit). It's not immediately obvious that you can get an extra card every turn by clicking on the basket. The game seemed to sometimes restore my sanity between enemies (in addition to at the rest points) but at other times it didn't, which was a bit confusing. One other thing I saw, if you use a card that takes you to exactly 0 sanity, the card still plays, and if you defeat an enemy when you do this the new card selection still pops up on screen (even though you die).
Overall though, you can tell a lot of care and passion was put into making this, and I would love to play a longer version! Really amazing job all of you (:
Beautiful game, I love the voice acting, drawing, and music, but it was really hard and the furthest I got was the white pawn on the second level
Beautiful game. Way too hard and RNG dependent for me though, I couldn't get past the dragon. Music fits the look and feel. Nice work!
Had some UX issues with the cards not being very visible, but i loved the game. A stripped back simple strategy card game. The art and music were fantastic. I loved the creativity, putting biscuits into Alice's mouth and the enemy visuals. Just loved it. Fantastic work!
Man those visuals. I love the artstyle gameplay was fun and liked the sanity system aswell. You can really make something out of this. Try to polish it a bit more add more cards and more drawings you got yourself a game good enough to publish. congrats
Very fun card battler, if maybe a little too unforgiving. When the difficulties at it's sweet spot though, It's a very solid challenge. Art is of course, gorgeous, and getting Alice through the looking glass from the theme is creative. Great entry!
The art is absolutely stunning, and the gameplay feels really solid!
One small suggestion would be to add a visual indicator for where the cards can be placed. I got a bit confused a couple of times.
