I thought this was a really cool idea and really reminded me of games from the early 90s. I enjoyed that movement was abstracted to a 2D grid and it was intuitive that navigating to the boxes meant something was going to happen there. The feedback I do have - I didn't see the point of the punching as enemies never got in range to where I thought it would be effective (maybe I didn't get far enough to see what it was intended for), I didn't like how the in game aim cursor dragged behind the actual mouse as it made aiming a bit annoying - I would consider just not do that - or hide the desktop's mouse, also it seemed like when I got hit, the screen would shift down or up - which was a bit off putting.
good work!
This is super fun, I could watch the little punch animations all day. And the map on the right is great, really feels like a visual you'd have in an old school mech, great visuals all round.
This game is awesome, I could easily play this for hours.
Pretty original gameplay loop !
I like the fact that this sorta feels like a Jrpg but with real time action game elements thrown into the mix, with the movement fully handled on the minimap and the cockpit view for fights.
The spritework is really cool in this as well, both for the enemy designs and the Ui which is very immersive.
If i had to nitpick i’d say i was just a bit confused by the objectives, cause sometimes i still had some locations visible on the minimap but the game went hey mission complete pick a thing and move on so i’m not quite sure how that worked :p
Other than that had some fun, well done :)
I like the multitasking of juggling two mechanics at once a lot. I think I need more feedback on both the left and the right half of the screen. The left half for when I get hit or how I get damaged, and how my weapons work. The right for which checkpoint is worth what? Why would I go to one over the other when they all look like they have the same benefit? Maybe some are more dangerous/rewarding?
Cool game, but I feel like it doesn't take any skill to play there, like theres nothing to master. No matter how good I play, it appears that I will run out of energy either way. Very satisfying graphics and sfx, good job.
Neat and unique way to visualize a mecha cockpit / experience, reminds me of really old PC dungeon crawlers. The combat's a little clunky/frustrating but novel and fun enough. The enemy sprites are pretty cool! Nice job.
I liked the whole minimalistic mechanics of movement and combat, more similar to the old Dungeon Crawlers but with a shooter aspect to it.
My main issue here is related to shooting, since the time you press the input and the actual time the bullets spawns is too much to telegraph easily. And the ammunition should be replenished each mission, or at least there should be more ways to replenish it outside the randomized rewards.
Overall is a nice and distinct entry, good work!
This has a very retro feel. Clean presentation, it was easy to understand.
The combat is a little bit clunky. Once you have no ammo left you're pretty much dead. But the punching was a nice touch. It felt a bit too random, whether the mission interests were the goal or an enemy, but I don't mind it.
The only bad thing is the font effect. It's too much for my taste. Made it way to hard to read.
Other than that, nicely done!
LOVE the UI, and the layout of the game is super interesting. The core gameplay is fun and very arcade-y.
The panning of the camera threw me off a bit, it made it a little hard to aim and also hurt immersion a little too. The font was also hard to parse but I imagine at least some of that was intentional.
Overall really cool game, great job!
