How does your game fit the theme?
You loop around beats to find them. The soundtrack also continuously loops the same 4 bars as baseline sound

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
only non-selfmade asset is the soundpack for the soundtrack, see description for a link

I completed the game on easy but that’s only because I’m bad at this kind of games xD But I loved the game otherwise, especially the idea of looping instead of simple clicking, well done! :)

Developer

Thanks! I would've never gotten to that idea without "loop" being the theme tbh ^^'

Nice idea. Visually very striking. I wasn’t 100% sure how the timing worked but it was fun and sounded good.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

The blue dotted lines at the start are meant to show how to catch beats. For whatever reason they don't load on mobile, so maybe this can happen in more cases.

To get the highest score you should catch the beats when they are at their smallest, which should also match the sound

Makes sense! thanks for the tips :D

What an awesome combination of ideas! I've seen rhythm games in this jam and I've seen games about creating a loop around things, but this is the first time I've seen them combined. This creative take on a rhythm game works well with a fun amount of challenge, and it just looks awesome. Great idea, even greater execution!

Developer

Thanks!

The combination came a bit randomly but it felt very natural to me once I got it implemented (& tweaked the looping detection a bit more)

I love to see how Godot is getting popular, Godot games instantly have my heart.

The game is really fun and fast paced, just how I like, real banger. image.png

Thanks!

I must admit that when rating other games, if they start with the Godot splash screen, that I start playing them with a slightly more positive mindset 😅

Insanely creative, stylish and fun. Kind of reminds me of the music levels in Rayman Levels with how even the level's hazards match the music. It's amazing that this was done for a jam with this level of polish.

Developer

Thanks, I always try to take some time to polish my games, even for a jam so it means a lot to me that you say that!

Man what an original concept ! It feels like osu on a track mixed with Rythme Paradise on nintendo 3DS, at first I was sceptic about how making loop around points would be precise to hit the notes but after dashing to close the loop it already felt natural !

The only "negative" thing is that the yellow bullet is kind of jittery, maybe that's only on my computer but that doesn't affect gameplay, really nice job !

Developer

Thanks! I love the connections you make.
Fixing the smoothness of rotation for the character is something I've wanted to fix since the start of the jam, but never was able to get it in scope 😅

I really like the visuals, and the music gives a nice vibe to the game! I really enjoyed playing it! Great game :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks!
I really enjoyed mixing the tracks for the music for this game jam, had never really done that before

It was tough even on Easy (maybe I just am really bad at this overall), but great music and aesthetic overall!

Developer

haha thanks, I hope you were able to finish it on easy ^^'.
Balancing the game was hard, I think it was a good idea in the end to add the difficulty levels in the last few hours.

Super nice game, a bit hard but not discouraging, and an uncommon but easy-to-pick-up mechanic. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for the praise!

I like the loop mechanic and how you integrated that into the rhythm. I played on easy mode cuz I suck at rhythm, and the obstacles were cool but I wish they were integrated more into the rhythm part (maybe it is on the harder difficulties tho) cool game!

Developer

Thanks!
The obstacles could've been synced to the rythm better indeed, they are when you fly in a specific spot, but it's not constant for all obstacles so it feels a bit arbitrary.

I love this!

Lovely. had to to give it a few times. at the beginning i thought there would only be loops, but the narrow paths really put it together for me. wanted to see the whole map so i gave it a few tries. well done!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I wanted it to ramp up in difficulty, but only the loops felt a bit boring to me.
It's not super well indicated, but when you die (or pause using the button in the top left), you can change the difficulty to easy so you can't lose anymore, in case you want to see the whole map in a more leisurely way 😅

Submitted(+1)

thats what i did ^^ i think its actually nice that you didnt put in a difficulty selector at the beginning. i died, realized i wanted to see more but its too hard for me - BAM! Difficulty selector in the death screen. real good placement. like... when playing games: how should i know what difficulty to pick if i havent even played the game yet? thats the solution!

Very cool game! I like the music. It really gets you to that vibe when playing.

Developer(+1)

Getting in the flow/vibe state is exactly what I aimed for, thanks a lot!

Cool game! The controls are creative, and the color scheme looks nice.

Developer

Glad you liked it!

In general I'm quite happy with it, tbh I was a bit afraid that I had over-colored the game 😅

Submitted(+1)

It reminded me of Audiosurf. With the ability to upload your own music, it would be even more awesome.

Developer

Thanks!
Yeah, while making this I also thought that a (automatic) level creation/editor tool would be really nice

Submitted(+1)

Very originial, I've never seen this mechanic before!

Developer

thanks! I first made the plane loop and the idea came by talking to people, that loop could have become a lot of different games 😅
