How does your game fit the theme?
You must run laps around the LOOP GOD's domain, a gigantic loop racetrack. The LOOP GOD is also a snake just like Ouroboros who eats his own tail (IN A LOOP?!?!?)

Airship Overdrive: intro and gameplay music

ChatGPT: I ONLY used ChatGPT for the in-game dialogue because the loop god speaks in mystic-sounding rhymes that are hard to come up with myself.

I really enjoyed the gameplay ,especially on higher speed plus music complements it perfectly ! Great work !

I love this game so much! It feels so smooth, I love the idea of running, and having to have a certain speed, and a sort of risk reward, the faster you are, the harder it is to react. I got to lap 100, and then the snake decided that would be the end of me. I think this is the first game in the jam that got my heart racing, so congrats to that hahaha. Amazing game!

This was really great. The gameplay felt really smooth, and I love the way that the movement and abilities all work together. Great presentation, and great game. Well done!

interesting game

but it seems like the jump is kind of... slippery?

a little more responsive controls and it would be great
thanks!!!

The core gameplay loop is pretty fun, once I realized I should stop killing every enemy I see and instead do my best to control the speed I can manage it made the game far more enjoyable for me. Striking a balance between a manageable speed and enough speed to outrun the worm was really fun to balance. I actually quite appreciated the obstacle presets, having obstacles that always open up in the same way gives some order to the chaos that this game brings, and through memorization you can glide through the laps like butter and it feels really satisfying. I like how each enemy serve a purpose to the gameplay, the regular enemies serve to give you a constant supply of speed but also serve as obstacle making you decide which ones to slay and which ones to spare, the arrows are more passive but are good to bunch up if you ever need a pick me up, and the laser are easy to dodge but within the chaos makes you have to multi-manage them in a way I think is fun. The control scheme was rather awkward having the three action buttons clumped up, I was never remember perfectly which did what even once I reached lap 100. Sometimes collisions wouldn't connect, one time or two I passed through an enemy and multiple times my bullet just didn't hit an enemy, which made it far less reliable and frustrating to use especially against the arrow enemies and since there's no feedback for when you hit an enemy I had to guess whether it didn't connect or it did and the arrow just stayed in the same spot. I would've appreciated some kind of bar to show the distance between you and the worm because I have no idea how well I'm doing until the worm just shows up. An overall boost in clarity would improve this game a lot. Otherwise this is a pretty solid game.

Thanks for taking the time to review my game with so much detail! I'm glad you enjoyed the game design and yeah you were able to pick out a lot of the major problems that the game has. I was pressed for time near the end so I had to ignore a lot of these things in exchange for creating content for the game (creating level layouts and balancing the gameplay through all 100 laps).

Good game! I love it!

Speeding through this game felt great, wish you had more time to finish some of the art assets and animations.  Music was solid but the game lacked much other sounds. I enjoyed the narrative loop god speeches. Nice one.

Core mechanics work great--you can get into a sort of flow state of jumping and crushing enemies with your sword. I think the minimal art style works really well for this sort of game, it keeps everything clean without any visual clutter.  Only suggestion is to allow players to rebind controls--i found it really weird to have jump next to the weapon buttons, and was prone to misinputting.  I think having it on space would have felt a lot more natural, and solved that issue.  Regardless, game was a lot of fun and i built up some crazy speed!

Love this game speed!

It is somewhat fun, however I do not like the controls and the art should have been more detailed.

Super cool, the sense of speed is so visceral and the flow state is great!  Just a couple impact sounds would really add some punch but then again I don't want to take away from the great music

The game-feel is really great, I love the sense of building up speed. Awesome work on this one!!

Thank you so much!

good job moontyzoo, imo the dialogue was too fast and kinda hard to understand sometimes, but the gameplay loop is rlly sick and satisfying

Very nice concept, make me want to try hard and speed up to the max !

XD I kept trying to reach top speed but couldn't quite get to it. BTW the dialogue in the middle of the game is a bit hard to read(though I did notice there are fewer obstacles when you are supposed to read text)
