How does your game fit the theme?
You play as a looper (moth larva). As such you attempt to complete your part of the life-cycle and cocoon yourself as fast as possible. But beware: You might loop back to where you started!

I personally play a lot of platformer games and this one pretty good. The atmosphere along with the gameplay feels very calming. Controls were also on point.

Also really loved the pixel art environment so much. Overall pretty good platformer game. Great work!

Thank you for playing  ♥

I´m glad you liked it.

Sadly, my lack of ability at platformers prevented me in becoming a beautiful moth. Despite that, I had a good time playing this. The respawns being so far away made it a bit frustrating but I get that was the intention. I really liked the vibe though, thinking it was a meditative type of game helped me push further. It's a cute game! And honestly, the looper is charming :D

Developer(+1)

Aww, thank you a lot!
Albeit the looping by death was the intention (as you mentioned) I feel it is in the player's best interest if I implement some sort check point system in the future.  I can get through the jumps fairly easy -- doesn't mean everybody can. Hence... a probable post-jam update ♥

A very nice platformer with a calming vibe to it, though admittedly becomes a bit less calming after dying rather far into the game and having to restart… Others seem to have already mentioned that a checkpoint system would be nice and must say I agree.

Platforming as a caterpillar here felt quite novel, what with how the long body proved to be both a boon, in the case making far jumps, and a nuisance, in the case of having to position your long body between spikes. I felt the game did a good job of showcasing both sides of the coin, so to speak. On another note, jumping around as a caterpillar felt most amusing. (I did a very brief Google search for “jumping caterpillar” and I guess some do actually do that? You learn something new every day.)

Admittedly didn’t reach the end. Got to the part with the spikeless winding path downwards that lulled me into a false sense of security before a blind drop into some spikes… Again, checkpoints would be much appreciated if the game’s to have such things!

Anyway, aside from those few gripes, had an overall nice time playing this one, and would absolutely revisit a post-jam version. Great work!

Thanks a bunch for playing and your very in-depth comment. I will definitely implement some sort of checkpoint system after the jam. There´s already some ideas on giving you a visual queue for it as well ♥

A charming little platformer, I really enjoyed it! The only thing that could be made a bit better is the first obstacle: spikes that are essentially invisible until its too late to avoid them, but since they're right at the beginning it's not a big deal.

Keep up the good work!

Hi, thank you so much for playing!
I actually purposefully placed them since the starting area (until you hit the rock jump) is designed to be a sort of tutorial. The stalagmites/spikes are there to teach you that you can and will be reset if you make a mistake without losing a lot of progress (as well as the fact that you don´t really take no fall damage otherwise).
BUT I can definitely recognize why that can be an issue for some -- and I will keep that in mind for a better tutorial area in my next platformer ♥

I really loved the game idea and the art style it's beatiful

The concept of life-cycle as your tie in to the prompt is really creative, also platforming with such a long character was fun and I like how you made jumps which use the length of the caterpillar. I would have liked some checkpoints or shortcuts since getting all the way back to where you died can take a while but overall great submission - well done!

Thank you a bunch for playing ♥

(Btw your pfp is goated)

awwe so cute! fun vibes, really cute character and tone, plus the art was nice :) the platforming went from pretty doable to incredibly hard, but I did keep playing for awhile haha

Developer

Since this is my first game ever (in solo production), I had much to learn -- especially from comments like yours. One of the things I definitely need to implement some sort of checkpoint system next time.

So that´s why I need to thank you so much for the comment and playing the game ♥

I think the shape of the character makes for some interesting platforming! Controls feel nice and the art and atmosphere have a nice mood. Though I really wish there were checkpoints

I like being a moth larva. The first part of the level was fun and chill. Good job!

But that rock jump was brutal, especially going back to the start.

Submitted(+1)

This character is not made for precision platforming, even though the controls feel pretty decent. Having no checkpoints and the brutal tuning of the level made me simply have to quit.

Developer(+1)

Very valid, I just ran with the first thing that came to mind and seemed fun to make. So thank you for your comment. Learning from projects is half the fun as game dev!

Really like the bg music and how it sets a tranquil tone for the game. The graphics are good and the minimiliostic vibes. Congrats!!

Thank you so much for playing and your nice comment ♥

A cool precision platformer with a great cozy and calming atmosphere, love the earthy tone of the visual, that and the chill music you chose create a very mindful feeling to the whole thing, as if you're part of nature herself, great job on this!

Developer

Thank you so much!

I'll be the first to admit it's a bit too precise for me, but the presentation of the game was great. It sets up a nice atmosphere.

Developer

Your comment is very much valid. I just made something I - personally - would enjoy playing.

Thank you for playing ♥

Worm :b (lovely game)

Developer(+1)

Worm is love, worm is life. ♥

Cool platformer with a looong boy as the character. Although being such a wide sprite does make it difficult to gauge some of the jumps.

Developer(+1)

I realized, after play-testing a bunch, that the width does make it more difficult. So you´re totally right.

Thank you so much for playing my  game ♥
