I do NOT understand how this game has so little ratings. You definitely deserve more than that. Especially with the art, sound and story. I will probably come back to this after the game is fully finished. Thank you so much for your entry ♥

Got this game recommended by a streamer who actually made the art for this! Did not think I would go on an unknowing killing spree! xD

I have mentioned it in a previous reply, but our team will look into that! Usually you can just click on "more information" and then "run anyway". But if that is not working, it's definitely an issue. I never had an issue with running it on my PC (I am using Windows Defender as well). :(

Thank you for attempting thought ♥

Thank you for letting us know! You´re one of the few that seem to encounter this issue. I will let the team know so that we can hopefully eliminate the problem in our post-jam version. thank you for trying though ♥

Hi there Curious, we're currently working on an updated post-jam version and are considering implementing some sort of pointers. If you´re down after voting period ends, check our NEW AND IMPROVED game after ♥
(No pressure thought, you obviously don't need to.)

Watched someone play AND played it myself. Thank you so much for blessing this jam with your work ♥

Reminded me of Flappy Bird for some reason. BUT BETTER

Haha, i got bodied the second I got into the room with the boss fight.

Loved the art direction on this one. Would totally buy this on Steam! I got stuck after getting my second upgrade though and didn't know what to do. Loved how creative the gameplay mechanics are.  MAGNOLIA deserves more downloads and ratings. Can't believe nobody is playing this.

EDIT: If you see how often I edited this comment.... I´m sorry. I kept putting more spelling errors than I fixed.

I´m kinda struggling to stay alive for long as the monsters always get me so fast haha. I was also more often than not so turned around in the map.... I heard the music for the safe room. I could not FIND it thought.

Overall solid game. Hopefully more people will play it ♥

Really cool concept! I wished there was a way to jog/sprint since you had to go back and forth quite a bit. Otherwise a really solid game. I hope Sean plays it once it´s complete ♥

Not quite sure how this game fits into the theme given but I will now forever view deer in a different light. I hope I will be able to sleep after this.

This must be one of my favorites of this jam: The humor? The voice acting? HELLO???? It's literally a no-brainer.

Oh I totally hear you with one person doing all the music and sound. We had the same setup with our game. Y' all still did an amazing job ♥

The art direction is exquisit! I took way too long on some of these puzzles, but oh well. Time well spent!

If you look closely, the iris of both the guy and the zombie are way too weird for being pixel art and the title (Bloom Beyond) in that picture also has some very questionable parts in it. I believe that at least one of the towers' tops from the castle on the right side is also curvy.

Thank you so much for your time playing our game ♥

I will definitely check your game out -- as I am attempting to do with everyone that comments/rates our game. I hope you had as much fun working on your project as we did with ours!

Thank you so much in advance! We are already planning on uploading an updated version after voting period ends. But should you encounter any bugs/... don't hesitate to tell us. ♥

Thank you for playing our game! If you´re interested in waiting before playing again: We´re working on improving some of the game's contents/bugs.

Thank you so much for playing our game! I understand the ZXC being YXC issue very well, since we probably have the same QWERTZ layout. I believe our programmers have the QWERTY layout though. I also believe the person that worked on the rhythm section placed the notes by hand. We plan on improving some of the concerns you have though --  in our post-jam update. So if you want to play the game after, we'd be honored to have you back.

Only wants to play on my secondary, vertical monitor. And as another jammer already mentioned, some sort of crosshair would've made the experience much easier. Love the atmosphere and graphics though. Not every game needs high res graphics imo. Great job!

Windows is not letting me unzip the download file. But I believe another jammer has already found a solution for this. Can't delete the ZIP file without scanning it with my antivirus first.

HOW DO YOU ONLY HAVE 4 VOTES.
I watched some gameplay in the DuckyDev server. Played it for myself now. This should have more players!!!

I got the OG 5 out of 5 ending first!
That being said, I enjoyed this visual novel. I may preferred it with a bit more background/ambient sound, but otherwise I would not change this a bit. I will definitely attempt to get all the endings :D

I love the way the cursor is in the shape of a hand! The entire game reminds me a bit of the White Knuckle concept -- which is not a bad thing at all! As others said, this is such an atmospheric game that I see the potential for actually winning at least one of the categories. ♥
The game's sound however seems a bit quiet so I don´t think you can avoid the enemy much. I think I just have to get good, but as of now I always die to the monster right after talking to the dog a second time. Is there a definite indicator as to when the enemy creeps up to you?

The music had me grooving. Really well made soundtrack! I´m a huge fan of puzzle games so I quite enjoyed your game.

The voice acting??? Hello????
Couldn't get the good ending on my first run. But this is SO good, albeit me being a little confused as to why I have two points of view (top-down and third person). Maybe that is part of why I couldn't make it!

I will try to say it again, since the devs for this game deleted my comment. The game itself seems solid after playing it myself. But using AI for the promotional  game icon is just sad (and heavily against the rules). Why not show of your game art? Nobody would´ve judged you for that.

I love to hear that you enjoyed our game! Our programmers placed the notes by hand for the jam itself, but we are working on a better system for our post-jam update. Feel free to check our updated game once it goes online ♥

This reminds me of another Indie game that uses the scan mechanic and I really love how others pick it up. Because I think this is such an atmospheric way of navigating a space. Well done ♥

However, as others have pointed out, it is hard to find things simply because of how hidden some of the items are (looking at you key in the beginning I thought I could not reach) and because there are no real quest markers. The space also seems bigger than it probably is and I found myself running in loops trying to find the things I need to find. I did abuse the infinite scan bug to filth. Which... can take away the scare factor a bit since you scan constantly.

Again, good job at using such an interesting mechanic. Would love to play an updated version of this.

I really would not have thought to encounter a game mechanic like this in a game jam. So: Very well done on the creativity part! Reminds me a bit of the game Ghostrunner. I would love to see this in a more fleshed out version somewhen in the future ♥

Now, I did encounter a few problems, which probably are not that hard to fix: I found the player character sometimes not wall-climbing properly. But I guess I just hit the walls in a weird angle. The only other thing really, is the fact that I would love a bit more explanation as to why we are running from death (?) or are death but running (?). I was quite a bit confused on the story part of this.

But again, thank you for blessing this game jam with your game!!!

had to play this after reading the title. The only gripe I have with this game is that if you hit the sand or the water you WILL fall out of the map. That might´ve been my stupid luck though. Really interesting concept!

I hope it is not too late and you´re still for fun games to play! My team and I worked on a narrative based rhythm game. It does have a bug with the retry button, but I hope you´re not encountering that issue ♥

I do not know whether or not one of my teammates suggested our game, so I am going to myself: https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3925812

It´s a narrative based rhythm game ♥

I fell in love with incrementals a couple months ago so this was perfect for me! If you ever decide to work on a more beefy version content wise, I´ll be the first to play  it!!!

I really liked the graphics, music and idea behind the reset.
But for some reason I couldn´t pass on after I opened the gate to paradise. There was this one platforming section to the far right with the enemy that killed me faster than I could kill it. So maybe I am the problem because I also could not climb up in that section.  Can anyone give me any pointers, please?
.
I will definitely replay this game later when my brain works better :"D

I had to re-find my comment about your game, but I also wanted to thank you for all other devs in this jam! You always leave such in-depth and thoughtful reviews. Thank you so much for being a good sport like that ♥

Neat game about one of my favorite meal ever: The Sandwich!

The battle mechanics were a bit confusing to me as I missed the tutorial text right in the beginning of the game. So I had to figure it out myself. BUT other than that a huge compliment to the team! The pixelart and music are very well done ♥

As someone else already mentioned it is a bit hard to know when you do reset your spawn point. For the second altar for example, I thought I had pressed [F] for long enough, but I guess not because the second I respawned I found myself at another spawnpoint. Other than that I think it´s a neat little puzzle platformer! Two of my favorite genres in one??? Count me in ♥

First of all, thank you so much for playing our game! We are planning on releasing an update with  a lot of quality of life changes -- and the retry button is one of them. If you want you can replay the game after the update goes live ♥
