This was a fun one! I liked the car handling for the most part, but I did find it pretty easy to get stuck. I realized that the zoom out shows you where to deliver the boxes, so I didn't have much trouble with that except when the delivery spots were on the very edge of the screen as the black hue around the game made them hard to see. I think with just a bit more polish this could be a very fun delivery game. The music and sound design were great. I loved the crashing sounds.

I had no idea where to go. I found the starting spot. Then I had no idea where to deliver. You really need guides or some queues. The controls are indeed strange to get used to, but overall nice entry.

Developer

Hi there are instructions in the description but you are supposed to deliver from Home-A-B-Home. Thanks for playing!

Cool little game, mouse controls aren't really something I'm used to however. I liked the art style, however the distinction between collidable objects and non-collidable was difficult to make, I would have liked to have seen some the background objects be a darker shade maybe. With more time to develop I could see the slow build up between upgrades and hazards being quite fun, good job!

The sticky collision with the walls make the controls incredibly unsatisfying. It is not a fast paced action game, but a "can I maneuver my truck back out of this alley?" game. Also the oil slicks and garbage don't seem to do much to affect the gameplay. Much better than a lot of games I've seen so far, but could use some tweaking.

Very nice GTA1/2 vibes, I did a 2d driving game too!

Simple but fun gameplay loop once I figured out the mouse controls, I got about $40k.

I recommend an option for keyboard or touchscreen controls and a goal like a leaderboard or progression of some kind.

Great work!

The controls were definitely my biggest enemy. I think you could use that to comedic effect if there were destructible objects littered around and the game praised you for smashing them as part of your chaotic movements, but without some sort of element of the game encouraging my crazy driving it mostly just made me feel inept lol!

Developer

Scattering debris around as you drive would be really cool! We thought about power ups maybe we could have hidden them in destructibles. Thanks for playing!

At first the mouse controls felt like learning to drive on ice, but after a few loops it clicked and felt really slick. Well done!

Developer

Thanks, I tried to make it a balance between skill and fairness. Although I got so used to the driving during development I forgot about the learning curve for others. Im glad it was cool once it clicked!

I get some GTA1 and GTA2 vibes whenever i played this game. The control with the mouse scared me at first but it was really well made. I understand the theme very clearly and i think this was an original idea, so far I've not seen a game with that thought. Well done to all of you guys.

Developer

That was the inspiration, Thanks for playing!

Love the game! Reminds me of an old top down fast paced flash game of a taxi having to pick up passengers. Would be cool if there would be an active enemy such as police cars, but I also liked the obstacles that you add to progress in difficulty. I can see this as a really fun replayable game if upgrades and different maps exist. Nice work!

The loop-based delivery system with added hazards each round gives it a great roguelike feel. The mouse controls were unexpected but felt surprisingly smooth after a short adjustment period. A map or quick restart would’ve helped the flow, but totally understandable given the jam constraints.  Good job!

That mouse-control is quite something! It started out really weird but after a bit it started to click and I really liked it!

Developer

Glad you liked it, I spent most of my time refining it!

Pretty fun! My dumb brain didn't realise that I had to remember where the depots were the first time, and as far as I could tell there wasn't a way to reset or view the map or anything? That might be a nice feature to have. Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! We intended to have a map button but cut it for time and design constraints. <3

Even though the screenshot says 43002, I think it's missing some zero. In the game I made actually 430020. Pretty fun game,  I was addicted and only would stop if I could do 1 million haha, I only stopped because the game stopped. Good job in here, your game is really engaging!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Thank you! Yeah theres a bug with the score where it only counts your last loop, Sorry! Nice score i'm glad it hooked you!

Oh I see

Crazy Taxi Roguelike is a fun idea, and pretty well executed here. I definitely think some of the obstacles are less of a hazard than others (The Oil slick didn't seem to do too much if it's placed on a straight road, for example)

Nice work though!

Developer

We originally planned for you to be able to pick Hazards, Challenges and Assistance cards but only had time for hazards. If we update the game we'd love to add more hazards and the other types of cards. Thanks for playing!
