this is fun!! the movement feels nice and it is fun going through the ramps at full speed
i also like the details of the music going louder when you make the sprint
the camera was a bit laggy when when you fall from a high height, but it goes normal in a few seconds
It is basically a huge playground, maybe too big, but i still had fun i it
I kept breaking the camera a lot. It's an interesting idea. This map also reminds me of a map for a Sonic RP a person I knew was making with a few friends some time ago. Keep it up and I bet you can make something really cool with what you got now.
I gotta admit I spend most of my time here just running around instead of doing the quests lol. It was just too fun! I like this take on a 3d Sonic-like game. Also its funny how you got the Just get started theme in here, In a good way!
I really like the feeling of the movement controls its really pushing the racing through the map narrative. I love that you tackled such a huge map, but some placed seemed a little less refined, e.g. the waterfall / sea had spaces where i could fall through.
Also if you make a flip and land on your back, the camera shortly clips below the button and obscures your view.
Another thing is, when you open the mail center GUI the last movement vector seems to be applied continously. I would love some GUI art, character model or even just arms and change the perspective to first person.
I think overall you did great - lots of work for the short amount of time, maybe i would try to reduce the scope a bit an get more polish done.
Great job!
Yo this was fun and the mechanics are cool just kinda wish the camera didn't flig away when i charged up but good game
So had some fun with this one for sure! I like the 3D sonic style environment and you did really well with the movement and momentum. I tried to complete some quests but It seemed like I wasn't able to turn them in? I assume you are supposed to turn them in at the houses that the letter on the map shows but it seemed like either I was in the wrong place still or it just wasn't accepting it when pressing E.
Overall really cool game and I love the feel of going fast around the map and through tunnels and bouncing all over, charging and sliding. At one point I got stuck going sideways and everything slowed down spinning through the air and felt like I was in the matrix haha! Really fun.
Ok so this game I feel it is a mix of ideas...
Gameplay: I feel that the gameplay is not what the start and cutscene reflect, I was hoping for something completely different, the gameplay doesnt match the character from thumbnail.
Art/Visuals: The cutscene art and the main character of the thumbnail looks increadible, I wish the game was about this guy! The art in the actual gameplay is something that I didnt understand too much, a blue square in a Sonic/Mario world, got me really confused not gonna lie.
Sound: Not bad, make sense since the character needs to go faster somewhere, but do not match the main character style of music.
Actual playthough: The camera gets really boring to use sometimes, if you fall after going fast, you basically start glitching on the ground and the square starts to shake nonstop like crazy, that is because you cant move the camera and when you colide on the floor it takes the position of the box to transform to the position of the camera, really weird.
Overall the game is not bad at all, but I feel this is a mix of idea and I think it will be way better if focus in only one!
If you want to focus in a chaotic gameplay where the cube needs to get faster to a spot, awesome, do it but make the whole game about it, I feel that the entrance cutscene was a bit out of place and didnt match the actual game. For a first game this is awesome, I am pretty sure that your next game will be incredible, dont give and keep up with the good work!
this is peak I love this mostly because theirs seven thousand glitches so its just fun to explore the map as a square 10/10
Love the clever interpretation of the theme, and the sonic-looking world. This one is so so fun, I spent so long just zooming around for no reason <3
Hahaha, thank you! I tried to make sure my interpretation wouldn't be something that everyone else would be doing. (though it seems there were a couple others with similar ideas) I'm glad you had fun running around and exploring the world. <3
Had my fun with this one. But was rather just exploring the map than doing the quest.
The music doesnt seem to loop though which is a huge negative point. In general try to use fonts you see fitting, can create a better result with very few effort.
The intro was lovely and in general this game had good motivation. The map itself could have needed more points of interest/landmarks. It was the reason i clicked on this game. Anyways, fun game! (5,3,4)
I'm glad you had fun exploring and running around the world! I agree the map could have used more points of interest and more places to explore and were I to spend more time on the project, I would definitely take that advice. As for the music and font, can you describe what happened? I haven't been able to recreate the problems you've presented but would love to know why they're happening so I can fix them in my future projects.
As for the music: it doesnt loop, stops around 130 seconds in game for me. As for the font: just go the extra step and search for a font which fits the project better.
love the sonic vibes, and actually I think this has less bugs than the majority of 3d sonic games LOL so good job!
It sure beats Sonic 06! Haha, thank you for trying it out and rating.
I wasn't even worried about delivering packages, the movement was so fun on it's own that I just drove around the whole time! I really liked the artstyle for the opening cutscene as well
Haha, I got the same comment from many of my playtesters! I'm glad you enjoyed the movement; That's what I spent most of my time working on as it was really important to me that it felt satisfying. Also, thank you for the compliment on my art! :)
A platformer with a movement system that does not understand how gravity works is unreasonably funny, I feel like you could put 4000 hours into mastering whatever is happening when you hit a slope in this game. Seeing what type of stuff would happen when you try to break the game was great, even without an objective (0 out of 0 packages?)
Yeah, I love games that mess with gravity and so I wanted to make a speedrunning momentum platformer you could run on any surface, in any direction! I do love that head canon that the world just doesn't know how to do gravity, and if I had more time I would have given Justice a model and made it so that when they go spinning through the air, they start flailing around. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it and found plenty of things to break!
(And you get a package requirement from many of the quests in the game which you can access by going to the mail office.)
Missed the interact key in the settings, my bad
it feels like sonic but you playing with a car physic that sticks to walls, but i like the art
Yeah! That's a pretty accurate description, ahaha. I love games that play with gravity so I wanted to make a game where you could run on any surface, in any direction. And thank you for the compliment on my art!
Nice concept and cool play on words. I could see this being a really fun speed running game. The movement for the most part felt nice, but I did lose the ability to jump somewhere. But overall I liked it, well done!
Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! My primary goal was to make a game fun for speedrunning as I myself love the sport; I'm glad that came through.
