Love the art and aesthetic of it. Gameplay is good and straightforward! I guess the only thing I would add is that I would like to see more combat mechanics since it can become a little repetitive, but I know this is a jam haha again, AWESOME graphics!

Its very fun, a bunch of the comments were talking about Expedition 33 but I havent actually played it, but based on trailers it looks very similar, the first two levels were pretty easy for me but I spent like 20 minutes on the last one because of the slam attack and the spin attack, very fun though, and the use of the limitation was very unique, it took me an embarassingly long time to actually figure out how the health bar worked

Developer

Hey thanks! The UI probably could have used some more work to make the time health bara bit clearer - for sure. I'm not a very competent animator, so I'm glad the spin & slam attacks got some mileage out of them lol.

The mechanics work well and I like the visual style.

It's Expedition 33 if the main character was a chef, but it lacks a french baguette!

Developer

Thanks! She clearly forgot to fight a mime

Very fun. I haven't played Expedition 33 but I think this is my sign to buy it while it's still on sale

Developer

Thanks! And you definitely should!

This game is awesome! I had so much fun and haven't quite yet beaten the final mode. This is going to be my new obsession until I have! I love the art style, and the music and theme complement it quite nicely!

Developer

I appreciate it, glad you enjoyed! The 2 new attacks on the last mode are definitely on the harder side.

Did you make this solo? It is incredibly polished and fun. The art style is very unique, even the menus, it felt a bit like the persona games which I always thought were very aesthetic. The time mechanic, the parry and combat system altogether worked surprisingly well, I enjoyed it to the last moment. The parry mechanic mixed with the turn based combat is very unique and fun. It was definitely addictive. Probably a winner of the Jam in my eyes, not gonna lie.

Developer

I did, thanks! Though I can't take credit for the turn-based combat + parries. That was very much just ripped from Expedition 33 haha. Highly recommend if you haven't got a chance to play it.

I heard a lot of good things about it, I will check it out, but I also recently bought FF7 so...

Definitely my favorite interpretation of the limitation so far, very interesting! Having a sort of shared health bar between you and the boss is really interesting, it reminds me a bit of Furi with how that game lets you recover a life when you take one of the boss's lives.

Developer

Thanks, I appreciate it! I was hoping the health "tug of war" would be a fun way to allow for close calls / comebacks

Any game that has parry is a good game, easy to understand and play. I like it

Developer

Thanks! Surely Sekiro 2 is right around the corner ..

Super ambitious for a jam, and a super cool art style!

Developer

Appreciate it! And I do love to over-scope.

Nice and interesting concept and art style

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing - glad you liked it!

amazing work with the parry mechanic, i loved the slowed down sound effects and abstract art style. more food related imagery would've been cool!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! I did have plans for changing out the spatula weapon depending on your meal selection so that it would make more sense with the floating food background, but I straight up forgot to haha

Really like the art and use of limitation. Great game

Developer

Appreciate it, thanks for playing!

haha I needed more of e33, thanks for that!

Developer(+1)

One can never have enough e33, thanks for checkin' it out!

This one was really all around enjoyable: I personally really liked the art, loved the concept, and was enjoying the parrying aspect of the gameplay (though I never found myself using anything except risky slash). Good work!

Developer

Fair - I was worried risky slash wasn't .. risky enough. Though missing a parry on "Time Flies" with risky active is usually a insta-loss lol. Appreciate the play, and the kind words!

Submitted

Very hard to understand what was happening at first with the graphics, consider putting more time into background art next time. Parrying feels satisfying and the gameplay itself was quite easy to understand. Ui could also do with a bit of polish as well. Decent game though. Good job :)
