1. Hi, my name is Alex

2. I thought I entered the jam in the past, but apparently I never have.

3.  Right now I'm inspired by gooey horror, and silly card games

4. Right now I'm imagining a game about plants driven by cards, but we'll see what brews up.

Greetings & salutations!
1. I'm Professor Gonzo, the magnificently evil bastard alter-ego of some hack writer.
2. This is my first time existing, it's quite... Nice.
3. My inspirations all stem from the brain of some nitwit who pulls my strings.
4. The aforementioned hack (whom, I do not associate with, by the way) isn't very good at releasing things. So this has been a challenge for him, a breeze for me ofcourse, everything is easy when you've been alive for as long as I have; seen the things I've seen.

Let's go!

  1. I'm Nick, or Xort
  2. Yeah, first time in this game jam. Never knew it existed.
  3. I wouldn't say I've got a lot that's directly inspiring me right now. My first submission was literally just a random thought that I had to give form. I do, however, love magical girl anime, and am always inspired by it, so I might just make my second submission using that as a starting point
  4. I always have trouble just committing to and getting out products. I'm aiming to get out at least 5 RPGs before the end of the Jam, to force myself to get into a groove of actually working and releasing content

  1. Hi! I'm robot (or any variation of my name)
  2. Yep, first time in this jam.
  3. Right now, I'm getting a lot of inspiration from fantasy anime tropes. Fabula Ultima is currently my obession.
  4. Mostly I hope to end up with a finished project! I'm very bad at finishing things I start, so I'd really love to have another thing finished that I can say "I made this"

Hi Everyone!

1. I'm Mike, aka Laughing Penguin

2. Yes, first time! The last Jam is what inspired me to finally get this project finished and polished up enough to show!

3. My submission was inspired by some random musings on a Reddit topic that I decided to work through into a playable game. I've been playing around with a lot of mechanical ideas recently, but this is the first I'm throwing out into the world.

4. I mostly want to get the game in front of people willing to provide feedback to make it better, or even if they think its a neat idea as-is.

(+2)

  1. I'm Josh or Heathen.
  2. Yes
  3. I have been toying with cooperative games and also alternate mechanics. I've been mulling over some inspiration from modified randomness from games like balatro
  4. I'd just like to create a fun game and start engaging with the community.

Although we're from the Session Zero Heroes Podcast, I'll introduce myself specifically.

  1. Skyler Gorsett - Creative Director at SZH
  2. Yes, this is my first year, and I'm super excited to be a part of it!
  3. Although our submission is more of a high-fantasy take, I'm currently really into an idea revolving around the superhero high school/college subgenre, such as Sky High or My Hero Academia
  4. I absolutely LOVE the capability within simplicity that one-page TTRPGs offer, as well as the unique mechanics that will often stem from them to create the intended themes and stories. I started creating my own one-page TTRPGs THIS YEAR, and my submission is the second of three that I've created so far. I want to see what is possible and what I'm personally capable of coming up wit,h and then sharing that with the community.

Hi!

1. I'm Wahl or MartianSmith.

2. First time!

3. Games that encourage one to do something IRL are very interesting to me.

4. Life is exhausting and hectic right now, so I hope to simply finish a few things, and I'd like those things to make players feel better and maybe players can use them for other games, too.

Hi everyone,

I'm Erin. I'm a new designer from Australia who has been trying to make a tri-fold game every month this year, while I'm helping my friend Michael with his own design work.  This is my second design jam, the first time in the One Page RPG Jam. Still trying to get my feeling with designing stuff. I'm inspired by all sorts of stuff, I figure the more inspirations and the more input the better. My whole aim here is just to refine my craft and get it noticed by a few other people.

Thanks for reading.

(+3)

1. I'm Sean

2. Second year. Felt like I learned so much last year, while producing a bit of a mess of a final product. Onwards and upwards!

3. Birdwatching. Cosmic horror.

4. Avoid scope creep and complete a game that's playable, fun and - above all - clean and simple.

Hello All! My name is Judith! This is my first time competing in the Jam, and I just love the concept! I am a HUGE fan of fairytales turned on their head and turned into something different, don't know if I am going to us that for this, but I'm still noodling. I have had a crazy and stressful summer so far, and I need something to take my mind off the chaos of my work life, and something fun to stretch me creatively! I think this challenge would be great for that!

Hello there, everyone!

1. My name is João (but you can call me John!)

2. This is my first Jam ever!

3. I'm interested in narratives, and with that, I think about telling (or would like to tell) things that I like!

4. To improve my design skills in various areas, both in games and in plays. I'm very excited!

Submitted(+2)

1. Howdy, y'all!  I'm FlacoTaco (Flaco for short).

2. This is my first time competing in a Jam of any kind.

3.Right now I'm inspired by the Star Wars universe and the Sci-Fi/Fantasy flavor it offers.

4. I hope to create a game that I can play with any member of my family, young or old, and include with it at least one original idea.

I'm so looking forward to growing from this!

  1. Hey everyone! It’s great to be back at the One-Page RPG Jam this year! My name’s Jason, but I go by “Mock” practically everywhere online.
  2. . I participated last year and released three games — The Gun at the End of This Monster, Snacktime Heroes: The Dessert Dilemma, and I’ve Been Caught, and I must “Pika.” The first title mentioned has also been my most successful game to date.
  3. I’m really into liminal themes this year. The feeling of loneliness, the unbearable silence, the darkness staring back at you — all have driven my playstyle and my game choices. Currently, I’m into Spindlejack, the TTRPG based in the Citizen Sleeper 2 universe. It’s slow and monotonous at times, but its rhythm keeps me playing for hours without realizing.
  4. I’ve been in a major creative slump lately, and was afraid I would not be able to participate this year. I spoke with some close friends and loving family members, and was able to push myself out of the funk and release Route 164 for this year’s jam. If I don’t release anything else this jam, I’m okay with that. I’m just happy to have been able to participate.

Participating in writer's workshops are a helpful way out of the writer's rut. Consider This by Chuck Palahniuk got me out of a major TTRPG writer's paralysis. Resources meant for short story and novel writers, but I have found ways to incorporate tools into TTRPG story telling. Writers workshop is probably the best thing I have done to improve my TTRPG game design skills. Keep trying out workshops until you find one that is a good fit!

Submitted(+2)

Are you a fan of Palahniuk? I have that book on my wishlist, and have been looking for another of his books to read. Plus, I never thought to use a reference book—especially one on writing—to pull me from my slump. That might be one of my birthday gifts this year…🤔 Thank you for the suggestion!

Submitted(+1)

Big fan of his work! Been reading his stuff since high school. I think I own just about all his books. Have a few hard covers I lost due to moving I need to replace though. Lullaby is still an all time favorite!

Glad I could help! I have read a handful of books on writing. Most were the kind of books you read before bed to go to sleep and I didn't feel like I learned much. Chuck's book is fun to read and packed full of writing gems. Hope it helps you too!

Submitted(+1)

I started with Lullaby about eight years ago. I got a signed copy from a local secondhand store. I have twelve of his books, with one of them being “Consider This,” which I will start today per your recommendation. Three of his books in my collection are signed—Lullaby, Diary, and The Invention of Sound.

Glad to meet a fellow fan of his work!

Hi!

1. I'm Ben,

2. This is my first time in the Jam,

3. I've been toying with ideas about people's view of themselves, and so

4. I'm making a humorous game revolving around struggle and personal growth

Submitted(+1)

Hi everyone!

1- Im Noomue

2- this is my second year participating but last year couldn’t finish mu submission. This one I had success!

3- for me is a bit of a mashup. The Hydra scene in Hercules, the Mean Girls movie, the movie Split, and a bit of anime violence but not to make it gory.  Managed to add the theme Growth with the head growth/sprout/pop? And I think the trope can be the “everyone wants to be prom queen” at hischool

4- firt to finish a game during the jam, and have a finished product by the end that looks nicey. Also to have fun and make something that can be played in a quick opportunity like while you wait for your pizza at a friends house in order to watch a movie.

Submitted(+1)

1. Well, howdy, I go by TrueTenno

2. I participated in last year's Jam.

3. Westerns and Shonen anime have been my Muse as of late.

4. I am looking to master the Graphic Design and Art side of game design.

Submitted(+3)

  1. I'm Ysy!
  2. This is my second year! I created Meminis for One-Page RPG Jam 2024!
  3. I've been playing too much Umamusume... some sort of wacky solo roguelite with (some) replayability would be what I'm shooting for. Since the theme is "Growth", I think raising sims fit the bill nicely.
  4. I hope that I improve with layout this time!

Hello!

  1. We're Basil and Dunkwad of The Oatmilk Arcade!
QBasilDunkwad
2First time entering the One-Page RPG Jam, definitelyYes (i think)
3Creature-raising ala Monster Rancher and Digimon, Monster Rancher in particular is a type of creature raising sim that I haven't seen emulated how I would like so far (if you've got recommendations, I'm all ears!)i've got shop management sims on the mind, especially potion craft as fantasy's just a comfort genre for me.
4I wanted to make something fun, with a clear end state, and with decent replayability. An enjoyable system you can pull out every once in a while and go through the entire gameplay loop in one sessioni want to make something interesting and fun; something bite-sized that people can throw in their trpg campaigns or play every now and then for fun.

Hi everyone and thanks for this fantastic game jam! I am really enjoying myself - and getting ahead of myself.

  1. I am Simon readyandnot (he/him), a lover of all things story games.
  2. This is indeed my first time participating here but I have been involved with other game jams (video games as well) and love the thrill and the constraints.
  3. For my game "Creation Unbound" I was trying to go through different angles of "growth" and landed on the superhuman, tacked-together type - Frankenstein-esque stories. Now that I've thought about these a fair bit, there are quite a few of those and I am very happy with my choice.
  4. I would love to edit and playtest the game one or two more times, layout it and then hand it in. It's quite straightforward - or so I hope

  1. I'm Jay Lakes, but I go by the Revivalist.
  2. This is my first time publishing anything on the Internet ever!!
  3. I tried to take an interesting spin on the theme of Growth, making a game about mushroom hive minds taking over a civilization while riffing on some of my favorite game mechanics.
  4. Honestly, this is more about putting myself out there, and just meeting the requirements of the jam and then getting up the courage to actually put my ideas out there felt right!

Your Name: RPG Elise (@rpgelise.bsky.social‬)

Is this your first time competing in the Jam?  First time for this jam. This is my 6th TTRPG Jam on Itch.

What genre or tropes are currently inspiring you? For Dungeon Blast,  I wrote for my GM style which is players going off the rails and having a laughing good time. Magic wands back-firing in Wizard Newbs has been a hit when GMing this at convention tables, so I brought this back with the magic bombs goblins toss for Dungeon Blast. Its a bit of a sequel from Wizard Newbs I have been wanting to create for sometime. If the table is laughing and having fun I have done my job as a GM.

For other jams this month, I have really been into Lovecraft style horror and finding tie ins with the current social and political climate and using mechanics that don't use mental health as a mechanic and instead use other spooky concepts. I recently submitted The Abandoned Abbey for the Appx N Jam, and created a mechanic called The Clock, the number of days you have to live in the post-apocalyptic world.

What do you hope to accomplish or how to you hope to challenge yourself during the jam? One of my big goals in game design is fitting an interesting story and replayability in a small space of a game. In TTRPGs, you get about an 8,000 word count, you are further challenged in one page TTRPGs. I think my biggest challenge so far has been the 36 word TTRPG, Endurance. One way I tell stories in a small space of a TTRPG is through the art. Art can give you a vibe for the places or in encounters you might run into. I also try to pick out relatable scenarios players can quickly get oriented to. In Wizard Newbs its a TP heist because the TP ran out. In Dungeon Blast it is "acquiring" new furniture for the goblin lair because adventurers recently came in and smashed the place. These are all situations we can relate to and don't require a whole lot of back story. This saves space on the page. For replay value, I use roll tables. Roll tables can effect the setting you play in or what hazards you face. Wizard Newbs and Dungeon Blast and a variety of magic items you can use and dice rolls impact what affect they have or if they back fire. Players get replay value by trying different magic items each time they play and GMs selecting new locations for each game, for example. Contributing to TTRPG jams with highly limited design space really helps challenge me as a creator to tell effective story in small space. It has been something I have been studying for years. I attend writer's workshops and study game design and other skills. I am always trying to find new ways to apply the tools I learn  in other spaces to TTRPG game design.

I'm so happy to see that some of you are conversing with your fellow Jammers! That's a part of why we do introductions. It's to get to know our fellow creators and let them get to know us.

1. Marco "Maremma che Giochi"

2.Yes, it is my first time and my first jam at all in english

3. My game has a genre generator, so I could say it is one of the twist here. Variety is my remedy against boredom!

4. I wanted to try to write a little game in english, and to meet other authors too. And also growth is a good theme

Good day, Everyone!

  1. My name is Yuan Chang.
  2. This is the first time I've ever created a solo TTRPG, little less participate in a Jam, but I've been a huge fan of TTRPGs and solo TTRPGs for years.
  3. I just submitted my game, ¡DUALISTA! , and I was inspired by revolutionary art and Albrech Dore wood carvings.
  4. I had an absolute blast. I wanted to see how much excitement and roleplay gaming I could fit into one page with just a standard deck of cards, utilized in a way that never had been done before in any other game. It's a bold challenge, but I'm exceedingly happy with how the game turned out and I'm so thrilled to see all the positive response it's received from such a warm and awesome community!

  1. Viktoriia!
  2. This is my first Jam ever :)
  3. Sci-Fi is a permanent inspiration, and so is Fantasy. I'm especially a fangirl of Biopunk as a subgenre, and I prefer darker stories in those genres as a whole
  4. I wanted to make something and make it available to more people than just me and my buddies. This gave me the perfect opportunity to do just that. I also wanted to prove to myself that I could make something simple enough to fit on one sheet of paper (I tend to design more complicated and grandiose games typically)

Hi all! Just yesterday submitted my first released game [HERBICIDE] to the jam! Hope you've all had fun this month, and achieved what you were hoping to!

I've already had a few downloads and one payment, so expectations already exceeded haha. It's a surprisingly nice feeling =]

  1. Trent B
  2. First!
  3. Enjoying Co-Operative RPGs at the moment, with strong focus on personality trait mechanics!
  4. My only hope was to finish and release a new game, with a few rounds of playtesting, with a degree of polish and professionalism I am happy with. Success!
