Use of the limitation
The link between the black hole and the white hole only lasts if theres energy, and every action manipulates energy. Walking, consuming, spitting, swapping, even just doing nothing requires energy. The entire shop system gives upgrades for how energy is managed. In that sense, everything costs energy.

Cookies eaten
Uhhhhh I was too busy on this to eat cookies lol

I thought the idea behind this was really clever - nicely done!

Developer

Thank you, and thanks for playing!

I feel like I must be doing something wrong. I can barely find any asteroids at all.

Developer (1 edit)

How? There's a map in the bottom right of the screen that shows the location of every asteroid.

Submitted

That one's on me. I didn't realize those were asteroids. Not sure why I missed that exactly. Thanks!

Developer

No problem

Submitted

I liked it! Enjoyed the ambient it gave and the feeling, also that it has multiple endings, I felt the way to do things was a bit confusing though, but overal it was a nice experience

Developer

Thanks for playing! This is my first time making a non-level game so I wasn't really sure how to teach the player much. I tried to add tutorials every time you do a new action but I assume that wasn't enough. If you could tell me what parts you understood, like getting asteroids on targets, or using shop, or deleting other black holes that would really help!

Submitted

The tutorials when you do a new action is a good idea but I think it could have worked better if it happened at the starting point. For example when the game began I didn't have a point of reference as to what an asteroid looked like,  I did understand as soon as I saw one but before that I had been navigating through empty space unsure as to what I was looking for, also how you lost asteroids once you changed to the white hole form.
Other than that I thought the instructions when you performed new actions were well explained.

Developer

When I had the instructions at the starting point people complained that it was too much info haha. Hard to find a balance!

I guess it would be helpful to show what an asteroid is, both in world and on map, as well as other objects. Thanks for your feedback!

Developer(+1)

My friend suggested an info book to fix this problem. Honestly a really good idea! Since the jam ended, I won't add it anymore, but still good for me to know in future games.

If you got too much info, add an info book.

The feel of the game is nice and I like how there are multiple endings. I'm not quite sure how to play yet tho. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I expected the progression to go as: Get 4 asteroids, complete a red target, get an upgrade and delete a black hole for 5 asteroids, then you can complete the entire game by getting 5 other asteroids for 10 asteroids into the white target. Though that is just the main ending.

Submitted

Love the look and feel of the game and the different endings add a lot of replayability.

Nice work!

Developer

Thank you, and thanks for playing!

Conceptually - great, personally I like navigating via map without myself marked on it

Music is disturbing, which is cool at the beginning, but makes it hard to replay for more endings since it makes my head hurt a bit after 5 minutes

Also i kinda failed to get any asteroid ending, just can't properly collect them, but i really like visual of endings - i'ts cool!

Developer (2 edits)

Yeah I'm not a musician lol, just tried my best. Usually it's my friend who makes the music but he was busy this jam.

To get the regular asteroid ending, you can try to complete one red target, then get the regen upgrade, annihilate a black hole, and spit your asteroids out into the white target. For the fragile asteroids, just change to white and push them around a bit .

Thanks for playing!

This was something differnt... And i like different things. You created a terryfying atmosphere. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Didn't try to make it terrifying, just empty.

Like space!

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

You definetly created the feeling of a endless void.

Submitted

Interesting game concept! I got the paradox ending!

Developer

Were you able to get the main ending? That's the one where you fill up the white target entirely.

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

I couldn't find very many asteroids, and then I ran into a black hole. overall an interesting game!

Developer

If you could, give it another try and try to get the main ending! The bottom right is a map of the world, so you can use that to find asteroids. If you're confused where you are on the map (player isn't visible), placing markers can help.

Submitted

It reminded me of some old Flash game where you had to create a planet from an asteroid on which can form a life and may start fighting with other planets, then transofrm into the star, and finally come to a black hole.

Developer

Never heard of that myself but cool. Any feedback on my game?

Submitted

I didn't immediately understand how I was supposed to interact with the meteorites, but I was able to figure it out. I really liked the random facts about different objects that are displayed when you click on them.

Developer

Ah, well you're a black hole so I thought it was obvious lol. The tidbits are nice yeah.

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

I definitely like the atmosphere of the game but being a big art guy I wish there was more! Great game either way!

Developer

Thanks, I actually left a debug thing in there, just updated it recently, so could you check again? If the version you played had the white target only require one asteroid that was the debug game lol

Submitted

O yeah that did confuse me lol

Developer

Oops, I'm leaving too much debug stuff in the builds lol

Submitted

The concept of consuming other asteroids to get more powerful is kind of interesting, I like how everything is presented, I just didn't see this game as having endings and doesn't really fit it. I also think maybe some obstacles or challenge is needed to make the game a little more fun.

Developer

Yeah, this is my first attempt at trying to make an open game, and honestly I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, so I'll be sticking to other types of games in the future.

Will try to add some extra challenge. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

No problem, I think the idea and concept of the game is really interesting and original, with just a little touch up it could be really good. Also, I like your Hollow Knight pfp.

Developer

Yes, hello fellow indie fan.

I think I may add radioactive zones? They could decrease your energy faster or something. If you have any other ideas let me know.

Submitted

it was alright, just not the type i like playing

Developer (1 edit)

Fair enough, I didn't like the game myself lol, so I'll be sticking with more clear cut path games in the future.

Submitted

haha, that's kind of funny, would you mind checking out mine while your on here?

Developer

Yeah, just wait because I'm still working on this game lol, I didn't have the time to add music and a map system so I'm doing that now.

Submitted

yea, my little team decided to take a break for a few days (could be less) and after the voting period update our game to include bug fixes and more features from all the input across all the platforms the link was posted.

Submitted

Really cool concept !
