Cool
Took me a while to figure out the first word haha! I really loved the art and atmosphere
Wish it was longer, the concept is super cool! Hope you keep working on it after the jam, it’s looking really promising. Awesome job!
I loved the aesthetics of the game! I wasn't able to finish it though since I was barely able to get past the first room and the next one I couldn't find the correct word to progress. Maybe having multiple words to solve each puzzle will greatly help this game, and it will enable players having different interactions the first time they play it (i.e. taking the painting off the wall should still give you the key as looking behind it). There are many words we can use for the same situation and it's both a blessing and a curse when making these types of games hehe. Maybe you can even teach the player a couple of basic words and have that as a base. I would love to see a polished version :).
Yes, you're right, next time I will add more word optoins for sure! :D
Thank you for playing, I will check out your game as well!
Seeing you try different keywords on painting puzzle was so funny to watch, didn't expect you try "taste" & "smell" painting, I just added them for fun :D Also I was afraid you get stuck on a painting puzzle and close the game, I was happy to see you play my game, it was so surreal, Thank you! :)
Bro, game looks incredible, I love this style, sound and other, but this thing with paint... Maybe I'm ultradumb, but I tried these words: remove, take off, take, feel, open, pick, strip, pull, pull off, down, rotate, turn... and some others. I think you need do some tips for word what player need to type. I know key is under painting, but how can i get key under painting? It's not clear... So sad, game looked very promising(
Thank you for playing! My thought process was i hide key "behind" painting, and turns out thats not obvious word :D I will add more verbs next time for sure!
I must've tried 20 different words and verbs, that painting is nagging me. I really enjoyed the direction otherwise, I wish I could just figure that one word out and move on as this looks awesome.
I suggest more playtesting next time, especially for a typing mechanic like this.
Yes, you right, I will test it more next time, Thank you!
Congrats on your submission! This was very nostalgic for me. I used to play games like this in DOS but they were always point and click to move. I really wish I could have typed the commands as opposed to using the on-screen keyboard. Figuring out WHAT to type took me forever. I tried several things that I thought should have worked but didn't. eg. Lift, take, remove, turn over, search, investigate. I did end up finishing it. Sorry you got sick, I would have loved to play more of this.
Thank you for playing and for the wholesome review! When I first playtested the mechanic, I kept trying to type verbs on my keyboard too! :D I added a virtual keyboard mainly for the mobile version, for pc version i should make it typable on keyboard too. I also learned that I should offer more verb options, not just one. It shouldn’t feel like a guessing game of what the dev had in mind and other verbs are technically correct too, that’s on me, I’ve learned a valuable lesson! Also, thanks for the kind words! I’ve recovered and feel good now :)
The creative direction on this is spot on, I think this would be an incredible game if you felt like fleshing it out. I did struggle like a lot of people with that first action
I feel very happy, Thank you!
Interesting game, I like the black and white artstyle and overall things felt really smooth.
The painting puzzle was definitely really difficult. In my experience the mechanic of typing out actions to do stuff is very hit or miss, you need to test a lot cause an action that’s obvious to you might not be to some people.
Overall tho, really good game, it’s a shame you got food poisoning
Thank you for playing! Yes, I should've added more verb options like "move", "shift" etc,. and not make only one available verb(not very obvious one too) Thank you for kind words, I recovered and feel good now :)
Stuck at the painting. I understand I need to type an action maybe? Or i don't know. Just stuck
I figured it out. It's a very short game, no?
I'm glad you finished my game! :) Yes it is very short, because i got food poisoning before the last day of the jam, i wish could make it longer
Awe, that sucks. I'm sorry. If you plan on finishing it, I can't wait to play it. Very creepy!!
I'm stuck at the painting, I can't find the key
Okay, location of the key is in the room with painting. Where would you hide the key, in the empty room with only one painting? :)
Good job. Very spooky. Great aesthetic and design.
Thank you!
Seems promising but i'm stuck at the begining with the painting. Can't figure out what to do there.
Maybe you should add some hint there (Or maybe it's just me who doesn't understand).
I can give you small hint: you need to find the key ;)
I finally figured it out ! The next one is more intuitive, because it's a verb and you want to perform an action I think. Cool concept and game overall, would love it to be a little longer.
I knew you're gonna figure this out! :) I got food poisoning(from pickle or from cheese, or fish, i'm not sure which one) before the last day, and I couldn't work whole day, that screw up my progress timing, so I had to just rush everything in the last half day :D
Ah that sucks man, hope you feel better now. Good job for finishing it !
Nope, me too. Where is the key? Or what am I supposed to look for?
